Is there a way to scan or copy our existing rowhouse plans onto auto-cad?
the plans are completely finish so we do not need any changes. we simply want to be able to view these plans thru a cad format.
slow copy to clipboard? I have pinned it down to my virus protection. I use McAfee and I notice that my CPU goes up considerably when I do a copy to clipboard under mcshield.exe. When I turn off the McAfee, copy to clipboard in X6 works fast and perfectly.

Pretty basic I know, how can I get PartialCUI tabs, palettes, etc.. applied?
There are two things in Autocad i can't figure out how to do effectively:
A) I want to create a copy of an existing layout, which i can do easily. However is there a way to make 30 copies without doing each one manually?
B) I have all my layouts set up the same way. Now i want to change all my 30 layouts in the page setup manager to print A4 instead of A3, and to print Landscape instead of Portrait.
Can these be done? Perhaps with some repeat scripts or something?
I have an exisitng drawing with 80+ layouts tabs that I would like to copy to a new template drawing.
I tried to use design center but to no avail.
How can I do this?

I am having persistent problems and notbody is commenting on my questions. I see other people with similar problems and there have been no answers for that either.I am running windows 7, 64 bit i7 3.50ghz computer with 32 gigs ram, and a radeon 7850 graphics card... I have a wacom intuos three. all drivers have been updated Saturday and problems still persist.
LR4.2 crashes intermittently on first opening. I have posted the crash on two other threads but nobody has replied. ( I dont know how to paste the link.) how can I roll back to version 4.1 that worked? can i install over the existing copy?can i uninstall and reinstall without a hassle with registration numbers?
I have installed a new primary disc (C: in Windows 7 Pro) and re-downloaded LR4.2 release candidate. Can I simply copy the existing LR catalog (which I have on old disk, still accessible via USB, or from several backup copies) to the new disc and LR will work as it did previously. The drive letters of the locations of the actual image files (on other internal drives) have now changed so how do I tell LR to now use the new drive letter locations.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create an illustrator action that isn't functioning properly on playback. I'm using Illustrator CS5 on a Macbook. In setting up for print production of CD's and DVD's, on what's called an OMAP; I have to copy, paste and then place the image at a specific point on the artboard. Then I repeat 143 times. I'd like to create an action that pastes and moves each of the 144 disc images to the precise x and y coordinates given. I've tried creating this action through the steps outlined below, but the result of the playback is never consistent and the images end up off the artboard.
1. Copy disc image from an existing illustrator file.
2. In the action panel of my OMAP template document I create a new action, give it a name and click Record.
3. I hit command>V to paste.
4. In the transform panel I put in the x and y coordinates(Then repeat)
Update: I was able to create the action in Illustrator CS4 and playback works perfect. However, my client uses Illustrator CS 5 on a PC (as I use most of the time); and, the action will not play back properly in CS 5. I've updated both mine and their software to the latest version of CS 5 (illustrator 15.0.2 i believe) and this action still will not function right. I've tried re-creating the action in CS 5 with no success on playback. URL...

I've been struggling with this for an hour or so, and I haven't found a way to do this.
Is is possible to do this in GIMP?
The closet I've found is a kind of paste where you do this: drag the tab of the origin image over to the tab of the target image. The result is a new layer in the target image called "dropped buffer". However, the entire origin image is imported flattened.
I've been trying other drag and drop operations, but without success. Usually when I drop the selection to the target image, the icon under the mouse dissapears, and nothing actually happens.
I thought this might be a window manager problem. But I get the same results across kde, gnome and xfce.
Note Layer > Duplicate will not work in this regard, because I want to copy one group of paths/elements from one layer to other existing layers, not to a new layer.
I have not found a command for this, nor have I found any scripts. Note I'm using CS3 but have been thinking about an upgrade.
Well my question in details is after making a detailed plan in Autocad, do import the plans to 3d max or make the 3d model on autocad. if i have to import it 3d max how do i make the plan on 3d max come to life. do i use the plans as reference?

I am trying to find a faster way to save my images. I shoot in raw, save raw images as jpegs after editing them in Camera Raw. I am using Photoshop CS6 on a Mac version 10.7.5. When I save, I either have to save as a copy of the exisiting image, or replace the image I'm working on. Other forums I've read said to make an action to save and create a function key to make this process faster, but my function keys aren't working, and playing the action I've created still makes a copy of the image.

I'm trying to create an all new existing surface over existing ground. I have a TIN surface of the EG, and I have drawn overlay splines that describe the new surface, but how to go about creating that design surface.
It is a compound surface, open on one end and closed all around on the other, somewhat like a half of a football stadium, but with an irregular upper edge because I am needing to figure out cuts and fills to manipulate the EG into this new surface without costly major terraforming. There is about 40-50' vertical elevation between the "field" and the upper rim with a generally constant 7-10 deg. slope all around. I'm just at a loss to figure out how to approach this project, and am quite new to Civil 3D.

I'm slowly trying to make the transition from AutoCAD to AutoCAD architecture.
The main thing that is confusing me is how to organise the project so that plan, section and elevation sheets will all update from the original construct whenever it is changed.
I'm confused about plans and sections...should I draw my section lines from the annotate panel directly onto the 'construct drawing' and then use that as my plan or should I create a plan view of the construct (...how?) and then draw the section lines over that plan?
I plot my drawings from a layout to PDF then can print from various printers, but the PDF and subsequent plots come out very light, somewhat like in a halftone plot. The image in the paper view port also show lighter than the color in the model view. I am using the AIA standard color.ctb plot style and have tried switching to various styles.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIm currently drawing renovation plans, sections and elevations, and i have a prexisting set of drawings, a after renovation set of drawings and would like to achieve the intersecting of this two sets with objects/lines in yellow for whats going to be demolished and red for whats being built and white for whats to remain untouched.
I started by setting a yellow color for the first set and red for the second set. And worked my way to the excrutianting task of breaking and setting this two sets of 2d drawings.
Is there a command or routine that allows me to break a line were two diferent lines overlap in the drawing. I was wandering if i could do that i then would only have to overkill the entire drawing..
So we are doing some plans production standards. One thought was why are leaders needed if all the object are called out witha station and offset in civil engineering plans?

Just a general Content Center question: does Autodesk plan to update (add more parts to) the library at any time in the near future? We really could use some pvc pipe and fittings. Also, fix the MC/C library shapes (they are all MC profiles, not any C's). I'm sure there are a number of additions to be made, but it seams that nothing new has been added for a few releases that I am aware of.

We use this function constantly for A1 drawings. It is such a great feature since 2010.
But I get errors with A3 and A4 plans that cut off the top and bottom or even sometimes the left and right hand sides.
I have set it to ISO Full Bleed, but still I don't know how to get it to print.
I am using our standard title blocks which print correctly to paper and to third party PDF creators.
How to wrestle with this command to get it to print with bigger margins?
I have to transfer my auto cad plans to Photoshop. Im trying to export each layer into eps format and then open in Photoshop. But some layers are not showing up... What should i do?

Problem is, the part number attribute on the fixture (fixture is a block) is visible when you pull the DXF in on the other software. Is there a way to turn off attributes without losing them before I convert the file from AutoCAD? I will be pulling the files back and forth between both software programs.
