View 2 RepliesI have some 2D floor plans and mechanical PDFs that I need to convert to DWGs so I can edit them.
Is there a reliable PDF - to - DWG converter out there that works?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to convert Store Floor Plans to DXF format for use in JDA software. Problem is, the part number attribute on the fixture (fixture is a block) is visible when you pull the DXF in on the other software. Is there a way to turn off attributes without losing them before I convert the file from AutoCAD? I will be pulling the files back and forth between both software programs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 workstation 64 bit.
I am trying to configure a networked printer using a PS driver. I am not able to print floor plans full page. It is only printing 1/4 of the plans.
configuring the device? The device is a Canon IRC5185.
I do have an HP print locally and it works perfectly fine.
I have 5 plans in a single autocad file. I recently saw a layout option that fixes the view and the areas that you want to print. I want to do like this.
1 layout I want to create is of an A1 size sheet on which these 4 floor plans are placed in a square fashion, i.e. each plan on one vertice of a square. I want to set the printer output option as a postscript level 2 file in another layout I want to put the site plan on an A1 sheet. Here I also want a postcript level 2 file.
However in my original drawing, these plans are placed next to each other in a linear fashion. Is this possible?
I have a task to redraw floor plans of an existing object (5 floors of 5000m2)... The problem lies in the existing drawings which contain incorrect dimensions.
Now, since the shape and position of elements is generally correct I am able to approximate to a 0.5-1.0m (witch I find annoying).
My question is:
How would you do the task having in mind that when SOME correct dimensions turn up (are measured on site) correcting the rest doesn't become a pain.
I need to be able to do simple floor plans for commercial and residential buildings, what version of autocad do I need?
Will autocad 2013 LT be good enough?
While drafting floor plans; lines, fillet, Radius, Snap lines, there are small white boxes showing there is an angle or radius. They are getting in the way of drafting, slowing down my program and genuinely annoying. Do you know how to prevent them from appearing? Also, and I believe related, there are blue boxes appearing on all my right angles for reasons beyond me. How can I also prevent these from appearing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI imported a scanned drawing into Revit and traced it. I put the walls and floors in, then was inserting doors. I tried to find a particular door, but found I clicked on the wrong door and closed Revit instead of the screen I was in. However, when I brought Revit back up, I could no longer see any Floorplan, but my 3d was still visible. How do I retrieve or make visible Level 1 or 2? (When I tile the Floorplan Level 1 and the 3D drawing, my 3d drawing will turn blue if I box in the blank area on my Floorplan screen, so I assume it must still be there).
The other question I need answered is how to insert the geometric figure/camera that shows each side of an elevation? When I imported my scanned drawing, it was much larger than the area within the four “eyeballs”, but I have tried moving it and don’t see them.
I'm a 3D artist but recently, due the high demand, I'm learning illustrator for the sole purpose of making floor plans (the artistic colorful ones), I know Photoshop very well and use it extensively, it would certainly be enough if I wasn't going to print the plans at various dimensions, even using smart objects and vectors I don't think Photoshop is the right tool for the job.
I've downloaded illustrator and so far I'm liking it a lot, I believe it's the appropriate tool for the job. However, I couldn't find a quick way to draw the walls precisely.
The biggest problem is I couldn't find a way to 'offset' open paths quickly... when the path is open, it offsets the lines to both sides, as opposed to closed paths, the way I found myself is to use the pathfinder to divide the offsets than delete the ones I don't want, but it's a pain, it's better to just draw both sides of the walls separately instead, what is a tedious process too.
I'm looking for simple ways to either offset open paths to a specific side, or maybe make strokes that are adjacent to the paths so i can use the 'outline stroke' tool to convert them to 'solid' paths, or any other way to achieve the same result.
I have made my sections cuts through the floor plans, but when I view them, the walls I have cut through are not poched in to show that there is a solid wall there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a lower thirds that will include some motion, otherwise I might try Photoshop for this. But basically, I'm trying to create a gradient using ramp in AE so that the lower thrids I've created fades away on the sides. Similar to the image I've attached. I don't know how to make the layer that I put the ramp effect on affect the other layers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to solve this problem of 'Flattening a large 3d model (hospital ground floor) to a 2d floor plan drawing'. The 3d model was made in Rhino and I saved it as a .dwg file because Rhino kept crashing with the command 'make 2d' (file too large maybe :/).
I don't know AutoCAD 3d so now, I'm trying to just change the line layers and eventually plot it all, but sometimes when I save the progress.... AutoCAD will delete sections of my work sometimes :/
I made a YouTube video of the way i want a 3D floor to look. Basically trying to import to Flash in the timeline and make it look like a 3D floor is moving from left to right... OK i knew a video would be better
I would like to make this in PS CS5.
I am trying to bild a ramp in 3d but i've been trying with no success, the ramp have a non common shape. pls look at the acad file to take a loot at the shape.
I need to have the top part at 5531mm and the bottom part at 0 and there is another part which is at 5035mm you can see that in the drrong and the ramp must 100mm thick or something similar. also i need to do it as a solid becouse i need to export it on a different software which only ecrpts solids.
How do you merge a ramp on to the main highway using corridors? Also how would you make that surface with two different alignments? I have my main road alignment and a ramp that comes on to it so the problem I'm having is making my 3d model with the road and surface combine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem I am using Autocad lite 2011 and need to draw if you can picture a column with a 15 mm deep fillet 42 mm wide which has a ramp and twist applied to it spiraling all the way up it. How do i go about this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm doing a 3D design of kerb stone which includes a pedestrian ramp.
Please refer to my picture.
The kerb stone I have issues with is the one I have provided dimensions for. From the right edge, the height of the stone is 225mm, then is slopes down to 110mm. But what I could acchive is that the right 100mm I have shown is meant to be 75mm which the back stays at 110mm. Is there a way I can achieve this?

View 3 Replies View Related I'm attempting to use the Superelevation tool on an interchange. I have 4, 1-lane ramps that I need to apply superelevation to. The three issues I have (so far) are:
In the Calculate Superelvation Wizard...
1. In Roadway Type, I don't know what to choose, I'm leading toward Undivided Crowned (center Baseline ) because my assembly (as of right now) is set up as an undivided crowned roadway (with the crown on the west travel lane edge). Which Roadway Type I should choose (for a 1-lane Ramp with different shoulder widths?)
2. Moving on to the the Lanes category doesn't matters. I uncheck symmetric Roadway, hoping I can choose "0" for the number of lanes on the Left, or at least put the lane width down to "0" but can't do either. I uncheck the Symmetric Roadway and it still makes everything symmetric (it acts as though it is still checked?) I only want to show a single 15' lane. (I even tried to use undivided planar, and put both lanes at 7.5'each, but then I still have shoulder issues...)
3. Move to the Shoulder Control. Why doesn't it give me the option to do different shoulder widths? On ramps it is very common (at least in Wisconsin) to have an 8ft shoulder on the right and a 4ft shoulder on the left. How can I type in 2 different shoulder widths.
i want to add to this image a ramp effect starting from the center to the bottom, the start colour must be like the center and gradually become black at the bottom... but must looks like all natural without horrible cut or different colour etc it's possible? i suppose yes, but how?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the floor to build the parking ramp. The ramp slopes down from west to east. I used the slope arrow to achieve it.
But I just found out today that that parking ramp also slopes down from north to south at the same time because of the sloped site.
So, how can do a 2 way slope at the same time? I tried to add the 2nd sloped arrow but that option is greyed out.
Well my question in details is after making a detailed plan in Autocad, do import the plans to 3d max or make the 3d model on autocad. if i have to import it 3d max how do i make the plan on 3d max come to life. do i use the plans as reference?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am totally new to Revit...basically teaching myself with this project. I need to create a ramp that goes from -1 level to ground, 12 feet up. I have created the walls for the path but I cannot, for the life, figure out a ramp. I have tried but I guess I don't understand how it works. I tried making a straight path with switch backs but I can't get that to work well either and that's not the design I want anyway. I copied the path of the ramp into a new file, which I have attached.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhich software application can I use to create a rendering of an elevation from just 2 dimensional dwg plans and elevations? I was interning in an office where the developer hired a render to develop illustrations of our design. The render said he only required our first floor and second floor plans, and the elevation we wanted rendered. The turn around time was very quick (24 hours). I was surprised as building a model takes me a long time. The cornice was very detailed, it would have taken much longer to build a model.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanna confirm this bug. I'm almost sure it's generalized but who knows. But in most systems I've tried I couldn't get Gradient Ramp to show as viewport background when using Nitrous.
System specs vary greatly from Mac Pros to Dells and ATI and Geforces and one QuadroFX 3700. Most with recent graphic drivers.
