This is a file that I created by tracing a .PDF file. I completely detached the .PDF file. I x-ref the file into another file in model space and slap some notes on it. I then make a view port in the layout and I see everything perfectly fine. But when I print I only see the notes and not part of the x-ref file.
I thought the .PDF file might have corrupted the file so I copy and pasted the lines into a new file but even then the x-ref does not print. I checked the layers, they are all set to print.
I am using the template from labelbythesheet.com to make stickers. When I print a sample on a plain sheet of paper everything comes out perfectly centered. When I make the circle ring invisible and print on the actual sticker paper the entire sheet is off and the stickers are unusable. I am using the correct template for the stickers purchased as I got it from their own website.
When I print a single 4x5 image on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, the entire sheet, less the eighth inch margins, receives an almost invisible layer of color. Where is the dialog box generating the instruction to print this background and how do I disable it? Both Elements 3 and 6 used on the same printer, an Epson 2200, would simply print the image.
I have a drawing I've created in Autocad LT 2008 (wall sections) that are viewed in the sheet on their side, I'm tied of drafting sideways. If I group the entire page and rotate, dimenssions and model viewports will not coorperate in the rotation. UCS will allow rotation for view ports, but the command "plan" will not be recognized in paper space. Taking a landscape LAYOUT view and flipping it to portrait that won't wreck notes, leader, dims & viewports?
Just recently I got a chance to try out Autocad 2012. I modeled up an assembly. I then wblocked my individual details into separate files for detailing. I used the new drawing view tool to create my isometric views. The issue I am having is the outer most edges of my views is not being shown all the time. If I zoom in the edges appear, but when you zoom out to view the entire drawing, the edges are no longer visible. It is like the border around the view that the drawing view tool creates is not offset far enough. How to use the new drawing view tool?
Is it possible to Justify an entire schedule? It appears that my schedules have an anchor point that is the upper right corner. Is it possible to change it to the upper left corner?
I'm working on a drawing that was created by somebody else where certain lines have an elevation that is not 0. This means lenght calculations etc. dont work. Is there a way I can select all and make all elevations 0?
So I have this drawing, which has been annihilated by many different people. One area of concern (among many) is the drawing units...some objects are in inches, some in Millimeters, some in feet, etc...
Question:
Is there a way to change the entire drawing to inches, so if I select an object...any object, properties will have it in inches. Or, if I get area of an object, it will read in square inches?
I have got 3D drawing with a lot of groups (block inserted on lines) created by lisp functions. If I use FLATTEN command to put everything to 2D, my groups are lost (everything is separated). Is there any way to put entire drawing to 2D without losing groups?
I have a number of lines that will not fillet because they are non-coplaner. Is there a way to globally edit all the lines in a drawing to set the Z coordinate to zero rather than having to choose each line?
After I have rotated an entire floor plan drawing 180 degrees, the texts and room names have also been rotated upside down. What is the solution to the problem so that the texts/room names will not be upside down after I rotated the drawing 180 degrees?
URL....I need to copy one entire project and then rename them all, it has about 1500 parts/assys that I need to rename.
Instead of renaming all items of my project, one by one using Design Assistant, could I just make some kind of rule that renames all the parts/assy's in my project, and then update its PART NUMBER too ?
because my register code is something like this : TAG-0000-0000-00, and the only thing that's gonna change its the string TAG, nothing else. I could try to change only the first 6 that are the TAG, but this sequence of rename/open/update, how to make, and even if that's possible. Or maybe have any other specific tool to rename things this way instead of Design Assistant ?
Drawing started in LDD a few years ago. It was on a local coordinate system of 1000,1000.
The drawing has since been migrated to C3D2012. Now we have data in UTM coordinates that we need to match to the old data. Actually, we want to shift/rotate the entire original set of data to match the new UTM data, so we can continue in UTM for all future data collection.
So, I went through and turned all layers on, Thawed them and unlocked them. I made sure all points were visable, etc. Then I tried to move the original data (I also tried the align command, etc., with the same results) and found a glitch. After I moved the data, I found that there was some points and survey figures as well as a cooridore, that had not moved. The vast majority of the drawing had moved as expected, but the afore mentioned data would not move.
i am trying to do the plan production stuff, any way to span the profile across the entire viewport. I don't want it centered in the middle of the viewport, i want it to take up the entire viewport and just create the profile with enough height and length to keep my required scale.
I have a layer of lables for a drawing that all have 1" text, and I want to change all the text to 1.5", without having to scale them individually. There must be some way to select the layer and do a global adjustment of the text font?
I'm surprised I'm not finding this in the menu's, etc.Since I need each text to scale properly from it's own location, I cannot simply scale everything from one base point.
I've drawn a room in Autocad Architecture 2011. I've got layers for doors, windows stairs etc. I've noticed that one door needs to have it's elevation changed. But when I try to select the door, the door and the entire wall it's in gets selected and I can't edit (move) the door. I can't do anything to the door. I don't want to explode the entire selection because I think it will cause more problems that what I currently have. The wall and the door when selected are identified as a "Block Reference".
I'm experiencing problems with selecting objects. Usually, when I double clicked multi line text, I could edit it, now I get a text: "select an MTEXT object:", which basically means I have to select it again.
Another example of this is quick selection tool. Usually I selected the objects, then went to quick select pop up screen and under "Apply to:" I selected "Current selection". Now, there's only "Entire drawing" option and if i want current selection, I have to re-select it again.
I checked all the selection options and stuff. I attached some screenshots.
Any program that allows you to trace a parameter or dimension throughout the entire data set, showing what files it's used in and maybe even gives a family tree of embeds?
Same for tracing ipt and iam files in the entire data set.
I received a stp.file from a vendor and need to add shrink to the file. How do edit the file? Also, once the shrink is added I need to be able to make a split mold out of the part. How would I go about do that? I should be able to make a block; then cut the part out of the block. Is that correct?
I'm trying to rename my pipe network using excel. So far i've come to this piece of
Dim handle As String i = 2 handle = sheetStructures.Cells(i, 1).Value Do Set obj = ThisDrawing.HandleToObject(handle) Set struct = obj struct.Name = sheetStructures.Cells(i, 2).Value i = i + 1 handle = sheetStructures.Cells(i, 1).Value Loop While handle <> ""
The problem is that the code suddenly stops after this instruction:
struct.Name = sheetStructures.Cells(i, 2).Value
it works fine for the first structure, but then it suddenly stops, as if I had coded "Exit"...
I have problem with medians ( Both MedianRaisedWithCrown and MedianRaisedConstantSlope) when crossing center line ( i.e whole median has to cross the center line).
I have median that goes along the centerline and it has to move to left completely ( whole median is on left side of the centerline) to cater for left turn. I tried with MedianRaisedWithCrown and MedianRaisedConstantSlope but it did not workout for me.
I used alignment ( for cl ) and offset alignments for median edge and etw. I have problem when the median edge ( offset alignment ) cross the center line and continues. I can see etw and median feature line shifts.
i'm trying to label pipe networks in my section views. i hit the 'entire network section' option and it just labels 1 pipe in 1 section. i would think it would label the 1 pipe in every section or every pipe in 1 section. is this how it's supposed to work? is there a workaround?
Dell Studio XPS 9100 Intel Core i7 CPU 930 @ 2.8GHz 12GB Ram 64 bit C3D 2012 SP3.0
I have pipe crossings shown in my profile. Only crossings (NO PROJECTIONS). So many elipises. I want to label them. Setting the label style at the pipe network does not work (will not override whatever label style was assigned at the pipe creation). I have accepted this (although it sucks).
Now, to get around it, I go Pipe>Add Label>Add Pipe Network Label. Label type is "Entire Network Profile". When I do this, it labels not only the crossings but all projections. So I have a million labels chilling out in space, where I have no crossing.
When I double-click on a component in an assembly to edit it, the rest of the assembly becomes transparent (or translucent is a more accurate term). Is there a way to create a visual style (or use some other method) to make the entire assembly translucent like this, just as I'm working with the assembly performing all the usual assembly-type operations? For example, I can operate under the "Shaded" visual style, or the "Wireframe" visual style, or the "Monochrome" visual style.
Is there some way to work with a "Translucent" visual style so that I can see the internals of my assembly as I'm placing parts, applying constraints, etc.?
I'm in paper space, in a drawing I didn't create and, when I dbl. click in a viewport to open it and attempt a zoom, the entire paper space environment zooms, as if I was still in paper space, although the task bar tells me I'm in model space. Is this because the viewport is locked? If so, how do I unlock. I see nothing on screen regarding padlocks, except the tool bar/ window positions padlock.
If it makes a difference, I'm in Acad 2006, not 2006 T.
How do I convert the colour profile of a Lightroom custom printing package from Adobe Prophoto to sRGB before printing? For that matter, how do I save the thing? I have no interest in saving the template, or the collection separately, since neither has any use without the other. And without saving them as one finished item, I have no way to convert the colour profile of that item. I can see clearly from the appearance of the print preview that the above mentioned colour profile conversion is required.
So I have a survey of a roadway that was created 15 years ago and was converted into autocad civil 3d 2012. No problems there, however, I am going through the survey and rotating the COGO points (ie Traffic Signs, Utility Poles) and the text to be parallel to the roadway. I am in UCS World and have no problems rotating the points and text to what I want. THe problem starts when I rotate the drawing using UCS 3P so that I am looking at a portion of the roadway that is parallel to my computer screen. Now the text and orientation of the signs etc are no longer parallel to the roadway and did not rotate when I rotated the entire project.
Now I was under the impression the points were to rotate automatically to what I set them as, ie parallel to the roadway. I'm sure this is an easy fix or I am not understanding something.
i have an image that is 28' wide by 60' high. i have to tile print it, but i have to print it out on film (see thru acetate). it has to be able to print at 1400 dpi. i know how to print at 1400 dpi on adobe photoshop, but i dont know how to tile print on that program. i have the image now in illusrtator, because it lets me tile, but i cant get it to print out for film (1400 dpi). im using a epson 1280 printer.
i really need to be able to tile print this in high resolution on film. anyone know what i can do??
I've done a grading "applying to entire lenght" but after done that I realized that I needed to do some located contentions. Is it possible to edit the grade for not applying it to entire lenght? When I go to the modify tab, edit grading, it does not appears the option "apply to entire lenght?"
