View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I double-click on a component in an assembly to edit it, the rest of the assembly becomes transparent (or translucent is a more accurate term). Is there a way to create a visual style (or use some other method) to make the entire assembly translucent like this, just as I'm working with the assembly performing all the usual assembly-type operations? For example, I can operate under the "Shaded" visual style, or the "Wireframe" visual style, or the "Monochrome" visual style.
Is there some way to work with a "Translucent" visual style so that I can see the internals of my assembly as I'm placing parts, applying constraints, etc.?
It's possible to do a cut view with the cup part with a different view style from the other "not Cut" half.
I achieve that, whit the cut view + normal view croped hover the cut view... but this isn´t a accurate process...

Is it possible to rotate a drawing view using iLogic?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn 2013, just placed a view in an idw. Now I need it rotated 90°. In pre2012, there was a rotate Horizontal and Rotate vertical command where we could pick the edge and it would align to it.
Has that been taken out of 2013 or am I just overlooking it? Restarted Inventor and that didnt work. I did not restore the marking menu because I have some customizations that I dont want to lose.
For what its worth, Wiki help shows the "Rotate View" command in the video..... maybe I don't have the full version...IDK. Looks like I am missing several commands here, like Apply Design View.
After I have rotated an entire floor plan drawing 180 degrees, the texts and room names have also been rotated upside down. What is the solution to the problem so that the texts/room names will not be upside down after I rotated the drawing 180 degrees?
View 7 Replies View RelatedDrawing started in LDD a few years ago. It was on a local coordinate system of 1000,1000.
The drawing has since been migrated to C3D2012. Now we have data in UTM coordinates that we need to match to the old data. Actually, we want to shift/rotate the entire original set of data to match the new UTM data, so we can continue in UTM for all future data collection.
So, I went through and turned all layers on, Thawed them and unlocked them. I made sure all points were visable, etc. Then I tried to move the original data (I also tried the align command, etc., with the same results) and found a glitch. After I moved the data, I found that there was some points and survey figures as well as a cooridore, that had not moved. The vast majority of the drawing had moved as expected, but the afore mentioned data would not move.
I can only get horizontal or vertical 'orientation' in "Break" view.
How do I rotate it to say 60degrees to use on an iso view?
I have successfully been able to rotate the drawing view. rotating the view label.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, everything is working great in PS CC on my Surface Pro 2, except if i rotate my tablet to portrait mode.
The main window stops with a bunch of empty space below it. It will not stretch any further down than what you see. Also, looks like the ui on the top right is a bit cut off. I'd love to be able to use the full screen in portrait mode, but just haven't been able to figure out what the issue is. I'm running a fully updated Photoshop CC on an up to date Windows 8.1.
is there a way to tell Inventor to align the view to be perpendicular to the Origin axes when View Face or Sketch on face is selected?
It is most disturbing to have to work with the view cube once in the Sketch just to have it make sense?
This is in Inventor Pro 2012.
Is there any way to use the "Rotate at angle" command outside of the "custom view" environment?
Is there actually any technical reason why the controls in the attached screenshot are not available in the Studio and normal modelling environments?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to rotate the entire model to align with the grid of another building. I need to do that in order to export to Navisworks easily without any adjustment.
After I select the entire model in 3d view, and going back to the plan view, the rotate tool is ghosted. What's the reason of it? See attached file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to change the "View" of parts on file open? When I open an .ipt or .iam the Visual style view is always "Shaded". I want this to be "Shaded with Edges".

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there a way that we can set the view label in the style library to show custom/user Properties?
We have set our iam/ipt templates to have some custom properties which we wish to display in the view label when the view is created however there this no way to add these properties to the label.
I find this a little strange as you can add these user Properties to the parts list in the style library? (I've added some screen caps to show what I am talking about)

Questions 1. Why are ther only two options in S&S Editor?
2. Can I add more options to S&S Editor?
I would like to add mass to my lablel inside certain templates and have it show when I display a views Base view label. Not ot have to maunually add it each time it is displayed.
I have modeled a building that's a typical shoe box (rectangular shape building).
When I searched the address in Google earth, the true north of the site is not perpendicular to the building: it's angled.
When I chose "Acquire from Google earth" at the Site level, it gave me exactly what I saw in Google earth.
My question is:
I have finished the model of the building in Revit which doesn't align with what I acquired from Google earth. How do you align the model to the Google earth image? Do you have to literally rotate the entire building to align the Google earth image?
Also is there a difference between Google earth and Google earth pro for this task?
Just recently I got a chance to try out Autocad 2012. I modeled up an assembly. I then wblocked my individual details into separate files for detailing. I used the new drawing view tool to create my isometric views. The issue I am having is the outer most edges of my views is not being shown all the time. If I zoom in the edges appear, but when you zoom out to view the entire drawing, the edges are no longer visible. It is like the border around the view that the drawing view tool creates is not offset far enough. How to use the new drawing view tool?
