When I right click on a selected object, I need the contextual menu to show up but, very very often, the result is that the object moves itself slightly! And that's of course terrible. Basically, when I select an object and right click on it, it can randomly move to somewhere else (a few millimeters away from the original point, so it's often hard to notice if it moved or not) or autocad can show me the menu.
How can I disable this annoying and useless dragging feature? I've realized that these kind of things happens only now and looking at some of my drawings, I've seen that many objects (mainly hatches) are moved from the point they are supposed to be!
I'm using ACADE 2011 but I assume the interface is common. You know that big red A in the top left corner. The one you click to get the MRU list, the one you click twice to shut AutoCAD down? Is there a way to disable the shut down on 2nd click? I quite often click it once, wait for a couple of seconds with nothing happening so click it again only to watch AutoCAD disappear.
My mouse has a nasty habit of accidentally double clicking when I don't want it to and the VPMax command is really infuriating me. Is there a way to disable the double click to VPMax?
I've gotten into a mode where I can't move objects by click dragging the mouse with the left mouse button. I've looked everywhere to see if there is some config parameter that changes the meaning of mouse buttons, but have found none. I've rebooted and reloaded Draw and nothing has changed. I'm sure X6 didn't come this way, even though I've only been using X6 for 6 months or so. I click drag move objects all the time, so I'm sure I'd have noticed this. I've even tried resetting the workspace, but holding down the F8 key while loading Draw doesn't seem to work.
is this possible. A lot of programs auto-duplicate when you drag and press either the shift or ctrl or alt key. Its a habit ive gotten pretty into. Plus, its a little akward for me to go from a left click immeadeitaly into a right click with the mouse. I always feel like i've dragged the object a little bit when I switch fingers. it would be great to just add a hot key of shift+drag to this feature, wouldnt even have to turn off the standard right click option, I could deal with both being there.
I try to draw on my graphics tablet, the brush pop-up comes up instead. Aiptek and Vista are unable to correct their problems so I need a way do disable that pop up in Photoshop (CS2). This is the same pop up that comes up if you right-mouse-click on the drawing while the brush tool is selected.
I'd be glad to disable ALL of the right-click pop-ups in Photoshop in order to work around this behavior.
I'd like to not have anything pop-up when I right-click the mouse over an image (it's specifically the brush one that is bugging me). Can Photoshop (CS2, running under VISTA) do this? I've dug through the help and such and can't find anything.
I have a tablet and I am trying to change brush size and hardness with the pen but I keep creating new layers. Is there a way to turn this off because I would like it to flow better. With the mouse if I ctrl+alt +left mouse is gives me a new copy of my layer. With the pen I get the pressure/size to come up but it is fickle and mostly just resorts to creating a new layer copy which is what I want to disable so it just does the brush size/hardness option. It seems the left mouse click doesn't display in any keyboard shortcuts.
Photoshop cs5.1. I don't like double click title bar to minimize the window. I don't use it, I don't need it. Isn't there a way to disable it!?
I'm unsing Snow Leopard, but I do have "double-click a windows title bar to minimize" disabled in system preferences > appearance. So photoshop overrides those settings? Maybe I'm missing something?
When creating selection marquees, i.e. magnetic lasso, etc., I like to "set" lots of anchors close together when tracing along an object. I can't tell you how many times I've been 98% finished w/ a tedious selection, and accidentally closed a marquee because the system "thinks" I double-clicked. I've set my double-click speed in the windows control panel as fast as it will go, but this still happens. Del does not delete the last anchor point once the selection is finished. It cuts the selection out. Ideally, I'd like a way to specify an altenative method in PS to finish selections, i.e. SHIFT CTR click, or ENTER, etc.
Does anyone know of there's some registry trick, etc. to accomplish this in Windows w/ CS2 or CS3.
As there a way to do this in PS prefs, etc, that I've totally missed. I just can't imagine I'm the only one having this annoying problem, but I can't find a single mention of it on google with what I felt were good search criteria.
At minimum, I'd be happy with a way to "Undo close selection", so I could resume setting anchors & finish it properly.
I have a cheap mouse and quite frequently while using the free select tool, one click will result in Gimp automatically connecting the current points to the beginning of the path. my mouse is to blame and I experience mouse issues in other programs too... mainly one click will result in double click actions.
so I was wonder how/if I can turn off the feature where double clicking would connect the path of the free select because I kinda have to refrain from using the free select tool because I don't get very far before it connects itself to the beginning.
I've been using Photoshop for more than 10 years now, more extensively in the last couple of years. I am a perfectionist, efficient and work very fast.
I don't understand why Photoshop programmers are not listening to their users and considering requested features to perfect Photoshop...but concentrating more on, like adding yet another set of filters or more polygon shapes we don't need !
One of the most important tools in Photoshop, for me at least, is the LASSO SELECTION tool. I generally have at least 15 layers for a project, you can probably guess that the SELECTION tool is my best friend.
The most frustrating thing using Photoshop is : the mouse double-click to close the SELECTION. You have no idea how many hundreds of times for the last 10 years I've cursed the Mother-F out of Photoshop...and time wasted on re-selecting again...
Don't advise me to modify my mouse double-click speed, or using the pen tool to select and reconverting to work path...those are not THE SOLUTION and you know it ! I've hoped for years now, for a new feature in every new version of PS preferences to disable the selection double-click.
When working with Paths in photoshop, I have developed a work flow that revolves around adding anchor points to an existing path and repositioning the added anchor point with the Direct Selection Tool.
The Issue I am having is whenever I create an anchor point and attempt to move it too quickly, that it instead enters isolation mode and the point is not moved. The result either having to greatly reduce the speed at which I work or repeat the movement several times until it works.
I'm refining some SVG files, imported into GIMP as paths. I added numerous guides on the images and drag anchors to the guides. All the paths consist of straight lines only. The problem is that on some anchors GIMP performs the "drag curve" operation instead of the "drag anchor". As a result, my straight lines become broken (curved).
The only solution I've found so far is to apply maximum zoom level, say 400%, and repeat the dragging in this resolution. This makes GIMP work properly, at least, I'm able to "drag anchor" as expected. But switching back and forth to the 400% zoom level is a bit annoying and inconvenient.
Is there a better way to "say" GIMP that "dragging anchor" is the "dragging anchor", not "dragging curve"?
I have two menus that I use often and I would like to add them to my mouse buttons. Attached is a picture of the two menus I like and the two buttons. The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?
I've had to reinstall CS5 after a new Windows installation. Never had a problem with it before, but now I have the issue where if I click on a tool that has sub-tools, it now expands to show them. Before, to access them, I had to click and hold for them to appear. Now with them expanding on the first click, it's interrupting my work flow.
Additional issues have arisen while I'm here, such as, when doing web work, I'll change the rectangular marquee to single pixel horizontal (e.g.), make the selection, do what I want with it, then press M to adjust another single pixel line, but it'll return to the full rectangular marquee, like it resets.
I'm running a test at the moment with Open GL disabled, to test drivers or display issues, but it's doing the same thing.
Since we updated to CC, I have a very good chance of this not working evey time I try it. Maybe 10% of the time, it will select the word/line as it should. My prefs are identical for this feature as they have for the past several version of InDesign. My partner also has trouble with copy/paste in InDesign and Illustrator as well.
Just reinstalled Photoshop CS5 after needing to reinstall Windows 7. Now instead of being to just grab the tool I want, it produces the flyout each time and I have to re-choose what I want to use. This is rather annoying and time consuming, if I am using the same tool.
Can it be coming from Windows or just Photoshop. I did try resetting the preferences and nothing changed.
I use cs2 and when in photoshop when i left click on any of the tools for instance the pen tool it brings up the menu to select pen tool, freeform pen tool, etc.. rather than just selecting it. I am use to having to right click on the the pen tool to get that menu, i was wondering how i would change it back. Same thing happens when i left click on all the tools on the tools menu, just used the pen tool as an example.
I made a complex sketch, and want to extrude. When i want to select the whole sketch, i position the mouse on the upper left of the screen and drag down and right, but no window is created.
And i cannot add segments to the selection, even with pressing SHIFT, because immediately after the first is selected, it is extruded.you see on the picture i attached that some segments (in red) are connected. how can i connect all the sketch together, so when i will select it everything is selected.
simple project, 2 story house, 4 generated elevations, file size 600k. ACA is very slow (+4min) to almost freezing up when trying to drag a view from the view drawing into a sheet. xml files match the drawing file. only way to get the views to drop into sheets is copy the traced over views into a clean non-generated elevation view drawing and create the model space views from there.
When I drag parts in the browser to a folder I created half the time they end up just above. I always wait for the folder to highlight blue before dropping but why don't part go there as requested all the time?
Is this a step up on my station, precision of the cursor? My colleagues don't seem to have this problem but we can't see any differences in our step up except I use a different mouse.
I have a line (not a polyline) that i need to extend by dragging one end to an arbitrary location but must conserve the orientation of the line. I then have to drag the other end point in the opposite location to a location that I pick (ie, not a cad feature, but by human eye)
POLAR works good in that i know the angle, but the line is allowed to be drawn wherever, and i need to focus on precisely where i extend the line too and not that the angle is changing.
I cannot get this feature of 2013 to work for me. When I grab a selected item and drag it to the new drawing window, I get at round circle with a line through it or sometimes I get a command that says invalid.
