AutoCad 3D :: Manufacturing Vacuum Trucks - Size Of Drawing

I am involved in manufacturing vacuum trucks. I am drafting all aspects of the truck in individual drawings, then need to bring various drawings into one main one so that I can "build a truck". The problem I have is that the file gets quite large and slows the computer right down. I can't even print! I will get the stats for the computer, but it is upgraded to where we shouldn't have any problems. Memory is not an issue, but cpu useage is up near 100%. I have one main drawing and insert blocks for all the rest of the drawings.

With the common knowledge of Inventor having a Spur gear generator, please I need calling that Spur gear generator from my API. Note that I am using VB for the programming and I have use Try and Catch for linking my API to the inventor. So on starting debugging my API, Inventor starts just as the example in the my first pluggin.
The Only thing remaining is to link my API to the Spur Gear Generator.

best way possible to present drawings in a poroduct to the end-user/manufacturer.
all part and assembly .idw's are printed and signed. then scanned and put into one pdf we call technical file. in the pdf, we use bookmarks for sorting into four main categories: purchased, manufacturing, assembly, and fitting kits. in addition we have other things, lik einstalation manual. the minus of this is that, when you are viewing one part, you cannot tell what assembly it is to be included in. in production area, they have small stations with ability to read these pdf's.

I just opened a drawing, bound all the xrefs and saved it. I noticed that when I save the drawing in model space, the size is 10mb smaller than if I save it in paper space. This is the same drawing, and all that is changing is whether I save it in model space or paper space.
What causes this? I tried it on 3 or 4 drawings and got the same result - but only when I bind the xrefs.

Is there a way of having different size dimensions on the same drawing? when i go into Annotate, then dimensions and change text size it changes all of the dimensions. in other cad packages i've used you can change selected text and so on a drawing you can for example you can have some text at 100mm and some at 25mm.

I am currently working for pepsi factory with huge machines in their factory building. My problem is that these drawings are very big and not loading quite well even in high performance systems. My current drawing size is about 120MB, without any hrefs.

Drawing size on an A4 at different scales,The A4 can have a drawing size up to 29.7x21 meters when printing with a scale of 1/100 while it can have up to 14.8x105 meters when printing with a scale of 1/500.
Does this mean that we need to have different title blocks each time we print in an A4 paper size with different scale?

I have a requirement sheet from the city for plans for a little strip mall that I'm drawing a renovation for one unit. Had to reproduce the entire site however for the city planner. No problem, doing that, but here's where it gets kinky. They want the plans submitted on 11 x 17, but scaled at 1"=10'. The site is 656' ±, so at that scale, ain't no way it's gonna fit on an 11 x 17 sheet, right? If one inch = ten feet, on a 17" page, the biggest anything could possibly be is 170 feet, right?

I am trying to PASTECLIP a portion of one drawing to another. The original drawing is the correct size however when it is put into the second drawing it shrinks exactly 3 times its size. I have checked the properties and they are the same.

Is there a way, using VBA to get the sheet size of a drawing without opening the drawing? I know how to get it with the drawing open, so alternatively, is there a way to open all the drawings in a folder, one at a time, then get sheet.size, then close and open the next?

We have a drawing that has been exploded purged, overkilled, audited and we still cannot decrease the size of it. Theres no blocks, theres no 3d, its a very simple drawing but I feear its corrupted. I've tried copy/blocking the information out of it but that just makes it crash. I cant attach it its too big! (16 meg)

I have 4 different sized drawing templates made, one each for A,B,C and D size. There are times when I start a drawing on a C size border/sheet and it gets too cluttered as I add views or annotations. Is there any way to insert/change the sheet size to the D sized template without starting over?

when i bind the xref's the file size is increasing up to 50mb. the size of the file before binding is 4.5mb. i tried all the options whic ppl given in the discussion here. purged(all regeapps,zero txts etc.),wblock even some lisps. but all in vain. even i tried to audit but it took 2hrs and nothing happened. this dwg containing only lines poly lines, blocks, txts etc. no images and not even dence hatches also. 1500 drawings like this. i have to submit the softcopy soon.

I have a drawing that has a filesize of 10meg even when there are no entities in the drawing.There are about 1000 lietypes in the drawing but it wont let me purge them out.These are what are most likely causing the bloat.Some things I have tried without success...
Erase all then purge 3x and audit then purge 3x then audit. Qselect shows no entities in drawing.Save back to acad 2007 and repeat above

I do not have a plotter. The largest paper I can print on is 11x17.I am needing to create a drawing which can be plotted on A1 size paper.
How can I get this A1 size to show up in Paper Space so I can use viewports to set up the layout?

I am using Inventor professional 2014.
I heard that in this version,
a drawing printing can now be saved so that each time I have a format A to print, it prints format A by default.
Each time I have a format B to print, it prints format B by default.
Now, if i have a drawing format A and another drawing format B to print, i have to change the format prining page each time.

I can control the size of my main drawing views using ilogic based on the models extents as there is a direct relationship between a parts length and the drawing view width. however, I have several isometric views that I scale according to the model size but in certain configurations of my model the ISO’s are completely the wrong scale for that particular view where the main views are ok.
I have a set area on my drawing sheet for the iso view and it would be more beneficial to control the size of the view rather than the scale of the view. I can read the height and width of a view so why can’t I control the size of a view but the height or width?

We use LT 2012, and recently we started having issues with file size.
Some of our drawings went from 1.5MB to 12MB after saving.
We tried saving as DXF then PURGE, -PURGE to reduce the size but always comes back.
Now, in one of the drawings I did PURGE, AUDIT, -PURGE and erased everything in the drawing, file is still 1.8MB.

Is there are way to make the size of this dynamic, So you can drag it wider and taller, There are other boxes that seem to be frozen in size. I use this with many custom fields and it's difficult to enter data when you see what your doing.
