AutoCAD Inventor :: Changing Dimension Text Size In IDW 2D Drawing?
Feb 13, 2013
How do you change the dimension text size in an .idw 2D drawing? The dimension text and arrowhead size is too small and I would like to make it sligthly larger.
I have been working on some spec sheets and, ideally, would like the text size larger to improve readability. When creating text, changing the size is as easy as editing the text and changing the size. With a dimension, however, that method doesn't work. Is there an easy way to change a dimension's text size without having to make a change in the styles??
I am having trouble changing the dimension text size of any 2d or 3d sketch..
the default has changed for some reason (i might have accidentally changed it while looking for something the other day) but i need to know how to change it back.. I can't do anything without a dimension getting in the way!
I am trying to dimension a drawing and have tried everything under the sun to change the text size but despite everything it keeps producing the text at a tiny size .
I am having problems with changing the height of the dimension text. I have tried going into the style editor and changing the text height in there and then saving it. The number for the height that I changed stays saved however the actual text height on the drawing does not, not even after I tell it to update.
I have 4 different sized drawing templates made, one each for A,B,C and D size. There are times when I start a drawing on a C size border/sheet and it gets too cluttered as I add views or annotations. Is there any way to insert/change the sheet size to the D sized template without starting over?
How do i increase the dimension text height in my drawing. When i go thro the styles and standards editor and increase the text height all the text in my sheet border also increases.Surely there must be a way to isolate the dimension text from the sheet text.
I was looking to change the fonts in a drawing for the Dimensions and Symbols that might have been inserted in the Dimension text entries.
This can be done manually bu editing the dimentions text after placemement, but I was ooking to set this as a default.. I cannot see where exactly this is controlled in the Styles Manager - I am only able to change the Dimension text font but the diameter symbol font is always on AIGDT.
I was therefore looking for an iLogicvb code that could do the trick, but I am not able to even change the dimension fonts... The code runs with no errors but nothing gets updated in the drawing...
Dim oDoc As DrawingDocument oDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument Dim oSheet As Sheet oSheet = oDoc.ActiveSheet
How to scale drawing with dimension lines without changing dimensions in dimension lines? I got drawing with correct dimension lines but geometry is wrong.
I want to change the text in my dimension. I don't actually want to change my the actual dimension, just the text. Is it possible? I want to create drawings that aren't to scale, and put in the dimensions that I want on there.
I just opened a drawing, bound all the xrefs and saved it. I noticed that when I save the drawing in model space, the size is 10mb smaller than if I save it in paper space. This is the same drawing, and all that is changing is whether I save it in model space or paper space.
What causes this? I tried it on 3 or 4 drawings and got the same result - but only when I bind the xrefs.
I am using annotative dimensions and when I use normal dimensions the text comes out correct at 3/32" but when I use aligned dimensions the text height is 1/8". How do I fix this?
How do I change this dimension into a diameter dimension?
I have tried editing the dimension style to display as a diameter and it doesn't change it. I tried creating a new dimension style and it doesn't change it.
I have the fill color turned on in my dimension style to background. I want to adjust the "masking" box size. Just as you are able to in the text edit-background mask. I believe the default must be 1.25 larger than the text. I would like it to be 1.00. Is this possible? You can adjust the text background mask size, but not the dimension mask size.
When I change a dimension in one viewport the alphabetical text size in another viewport enlarges automatically (not the numerals) yet when I look at the properties it still says the right size. How can I stop this from happening?
I am in inventor and I need to draft up some diagrams for a lab report for school. They all have to be to scale so my dimensions will work properly, the only problem is, when I want to take a screenshot of the image to put into my document, the dimensions are way too **** small. I have tried everything to change them and nothing has worked. I don't know where my command line window is so I can't go directly to dimstyles.
I have a Block that represent a point and has an attribute in order to label the point that I am displaying. According to the scale I can change the size of the point itself but I am having problems changing the size of the Atribute in order to make the label readeble in the scale that I have in drawing. How is possible to chage the Text size of my attribute in the point block so I can read the labels easily?
Is there any way to set that 'edit dimension' window/box in the sketch environment so that it opens to the length of the parameter being used? All my models for our library items are entirely controlled by Excel sheets and the names of the parameters are often quite lengthy. It's very annoying to have to drag the edit dimension box wider each time and push home or end to see everything.
I have an assembly that I would like to show dimensions on an isometric view. I am able to create the dimension, no problem. Issue I'm having is that when placed on a standard lettersize page, the dimensions are too hard to read. I've tried editing the size by double clicking the dimension & editing the font. It doesn't seem to make a difference what font size I enter, the size remains the same. How can I change the text size on isometric dimensions?
I am trying to figure out how to put some text (TYP.) on the other side of the dimension size. IE: my dimension is 4.00 inches and I want to be able to put TYP (for typical all other parts like this) under the 4.00. I'm sure it is easy -
changing text style in a drawing. Let's say there is a drawing where the font style is standard, or the standard is overwritten in the text box (different size or font). I want to create a new text style which uses a new text size and font.
If i select the text which was created earlier and switch text style to the one i just created only the size of the text changes not, and the font remains the same.
But if i enter the text formatting box select the text and in style i select the one i created (even though is already selected) the font will change as well. The problem with this solution is the time needed to change every text in a large drawing.
If i use MATCHPROP the same thing, the size of the text will change but not the font.
Is there a way to change both the size and font of the text fast and easy?
The diametric dimension on the right, dia. 244.9 isn't resembling the real dimension in the weldment. You see in the sketch of extrusion 2 that i gave an internal diameter of 245.
