Pipe and tank plant layouts, now need to make a modified (not standard) pipe fitting.
Looking for a pipe plug drawing. the fitting (Imperial) is 4—10. Four inch NPT piping. Appears to have a slight taper, very slight.
Or, better yet, a G 3-3/4" pipe thread(?).

I'm trying to make a piping run that at one point branches off in another direction. Basically I want to have one straight pipe, a main line, where another pipe branches off and sticks out vertically from it and goes its own way. However, I want this branching pipe to be welded to the main line, not connected with a tee fitting. Inventor won't let me create branches from within a route, and it doesn't seem to want to let me snap to the existing main line run if I create a new run for the branching pipe.

For the life of me I cannot remember how to turn them back into regular Inventor parts.
I've removed the connection points, but the parts still appear as fittings when placed into an assembly.

I had a hydraulic hose connected to an elbow fitting and now it has been changed a straight fitting.
What is the proper way to do this so that it is still adaptive?
And how can I reconnect the hose to the new fitting and have it adaptive?
I am designing pressure pipe network for water supply line in civil 3d 2013.In that ,I am not able to insert 90 degree bends,change pipe properties know that there is default bends available in civil 3d but I need more fittings and different dia pipe. I asl know that in C:program dataAutodeskenupressure pipe fittings in that all fittings are available and SSL there is .*sqlite file available. But I Don't know to how to import this pipe fittings in civil 3d 2013.

I'd like to create my tube and pipe styles as well as sheet metal styles and have to never create them again - regardless of the project/workspace. Is this something that can be saved in the standard part/assembly template files? If so, how?
I'm tired of creating styles every time I start a new document - it is a waste of a lot of time! And I'd like to avoid having to import settings on every document.
How do I make a style in the library standard? I made new styles in the library for a revision table and parts list, but when placing them in an IDW I always get the standard tables.
It's not a big deal to change it in the format tab after placement, but when having 50+ sheets/daily its getting annoying.
I'm working on a fire damaged 4 floor condo project.I have an xref zip folder sent to me from the original architectural firm. It's been unzipped. Now I have multiple drawings. Each with it's own xref. I want to be able to have a fully editable drawing (in this case of a 3 story condo). I want to be able to add or delete, at will, any part of the drawing without any concerns of messing up an xref file.
How can I do this?

I have created the pipe extruding a circle along a curve. I would like to know if there is any possibility in softimage to make the effect of appearing gradually from bottom to top like it is growing up and controlling in the frames that I want on the animation.
Pipe network storm pipes: Fairly new to Civil3D and trying to set up parts list for the storm sewer pipe and would like the plan view to appear as it does currently. We use a polyline for centerline of pipe, similar to dashed linetype but line and space are the same, width set to pipe width.

Also I "insert" manhole every 400' per local code requirements using the command "network layout tools; structures only. I end up tracing the pipe with eliptical objects where I'm cutting across the pipe and setting up more for the lengthwise/sideview of the pipe. Is there a way to have two different styles for the same pipe, one for a cross cut and one for a lengthwise slice?

I have these two pipes, one is 4" diameter (running horizontally) and the other is 6" diameter running at a 30degree from horizontal angle. eventually the two hit, and at that intersection I need to make the 4" pipe join to the 6"' pipe, which then continues on its merry way farther down the structure. So I can extrude the two pipes, and I can even make a union and then remove the excess of the 6" pipe, because what I am really looking for is: a cutting diagram for the joint where the remaining 4" pipe hits the 6" section. A cutting diagram for the short piece of a Y joint.
I can make this image appear on my screen, but I am then stumped as to how to unwrap the pipe into a flat section so that I can see the curvature of the cuts required in planar view, for the real pipe that I have on my shop floor.
I downloaded a hose fitting ipt file from the Parker website and did the Tube and Pipe Authoring thing to put it into the content center as a new family in a new read/write library. When I browse for it to use as the Start Fitting on my hose, the new family does not appear in the list. What is my problem?
The new library is checked in my Projects configuration. I have been monkeying with the NS column of the family and can't seem to get it back to its original format now.

All of my curved lines seem to have moved or doubled so now there are two of the same very close to each other which makes the line width seem heavy. Because my curved lines are not exactly where I created them now it means that my hatching does not sit flush with its boundary. A separate issue is that when I am choosing 'pick points' to hatch, they take a very long time to select before the hatch box appears.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a sinusoidal curve, that I've created using a third party app, which has worked really well. But the app only produces the form in a straight line and i now need to fit it to a number of curves.
I have a form of 3 radii and a couple of flats, which the sinusoidal form needs to fit along. All this work is just in 2D as i need to output the dxf into a CNC machine.
Longtime C3D user, new to pressure pipes though. It seems one cannot mask pressure fittings in plan view. Is that correct?
