I have a sinusoidal curve, that I've created using a third party app, which has worked really well. But the app only produces the form in a straight line and i now need to fit it to a number of curves.
I have a form of 3 radii and a couple of flats, which the sinusoidal form needs to fit along. All this work is just in 2D as i need to output the dxf into a CNC machine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on three different projects at once. For each project, I was sent a drawing with contours as polylines. Each contour is broken up into polylines about fifty feet long each at elevation 0. I am trying to set the polylines to proper elevation without editing each one individually. Each drawing contains several hundred polylines to modify. I was hoping for some sort of way to use a fence and interval (2') with a starting elevation.
I've searched the internet but haven't found a lisp routine to do this. I thought I remember Land Desktop having something like this, but can't seem to find it in Civil 3D 2012. I have found several threads asking the same question. Each time the poster was referred to a blog 7629. That blog unfortunately seems to have been taken down. If I can’t find an answer soon, it looks that my best option would be to retrace each contour which makes me glad to be paid hourly.
I've just got AutoCAD 2012 and mkaing some rings, I needed to fit the same textures of a ring of 8mm in a 6mm ring. My problem is that the inside diameter is larger in the 6mm ring, and that's why I can't use the Scale command. Is there a command that allows me to fit all the objects in this area??
Here is the file with both of the rings.
The objective is doing (as in the photo, like the others in blue) a cement bar painted in blue with 2 cm that circles the window. The problem is that the 3D polyline (which i've already did it) is curve.
The other flats ones i did it with 2 polys, then region, then subtract, and a finely extrude. I've attached one photo.

If I have a polyline which has a curve in it, and I PEDIT and CLOSE it, AutoCAD automatically closes it with a curve. Does any setting which I can turn off, so that it's closed with a straight line instead??
Any unpublished system or drawing variable that allows you to toggle to the classic grips on a curve-fit polyline? I have searched online and checked with our reseller but we have been unable to find a way to switch to the historic grips that are available on a curve-fit polyline.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 and received a .DXF file that contains 'solid' objects. Unfortunately the next tool in my workflow doesn't understand 'solids' only polylines (and a few other basic shapes like circles, lines, etc). Is there some way to convert the object in AutoCAD?
I tried the 'boundary' command but when it asks to 'Pick Points' and I click inside the solid, it always gives the error 'Valid hatch boundary not found'.
What am I missing here?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have csv file of co ordinates (x,y,z) I surveyed, I have to produce progress drawings showing stockpiles, boundary etc. , which I can do easily enough by uploading the co ordinates. I would like to include contour lines in the drawing but how to go about it. I have spent a while searching online & I'm even more confused, most discussions refer to TINs and triangulation but not sure how to go about it. I have a survey of the site survey csv file prior to any works carried out & that is what i would like to base my contour lines on. The site is relatively flat, about 4 acres in size, relatively even rectangle shape with fall of 200mm from north to south & fall of 2.5m from east to west.

I've had a problem for a while now trying to extrude a 3d polyline into a 3d solid. The polyline is on different planes which is one cause of why it won't work. Instead of extruding into a solid it only does the sides making it a mesh rather than a solid. If its on one plane I know it will work.

Autocad 2011 and 2011 LT both give the wrong area for sertain polylines. While Autocad 2005 gives the correct area.
Its terrifying how many official documents may be wrong because of this bug.
The vertices of the polyline cant’ be extracted!
The “list” command does give the coordinates of the vertices of the polyline while these data can’t be extracted by using the command “Extract Data”.
Is there some workaround to have the vertices of the polyline extracted in a table?

I would like to explode a polygone I've created within a block.
But I get the "_amexplode This command is not allowed while the REFEDIT command is active."
Um so, I have to explode the block, explode the ployline/polygone and recreate the block.
Or, I could minus the polygone from the block set, save the block, explode the polygone, reopen the block and add the lines back in.
I don't see an explode option in the "pedit" options.
Am I missing something here, is there more than one explode command now? It worked in a previous version.
I have polylines and changed the width to 3/4" and now the Plines are not solid (filled like a hatch) anymore? They are splined as well. I must have changed a setting somewhere and did not know it. AutoCAD 2012.

I am hatching (a very quick sketch for info) but the hatch lines are going across the ploy line zone.
What happening. I cannot snap to these, but if in put a selection window acorss an of the lines, it will select the hatch.
I dont want to see these and dont want to have to hatch indivual rectangles. Never seen this before.
I cannot see anythign obvious in any of the settings.
