AutoCad 2D :: Variable For Linetype Infill
Jun 22, 2011
is there a variable for infill to lines given a global thickness? a bit like what TEXTFILL does for text? see pic - the bottom two are copies of the top with thickness applied. normally they'd be shown solid.

I am creating a simple, and although it's large (100 million gallons), the grading object routine is relatively simple. I have the inside crest of the berm and I'm grading down 40-50 feet. Everything is fine until I infill the bottom of the basin and then the infill line around the perimeter of the bottom has two points that are way below the actual bottom, like another 100+ feet. The two points are on opposite sides of the basin so obviously it throws off the whole resulting surface and causes earthwork calculations to be invalid.
I've tried various sizes and shapes, having the crest feature line both "open" (with a tiny gap) and "closed", straight and arc shapes for the crest, grading to elevation and to relative elevation, and probably more. This problem seems to appear in each scenario.

I created a curved curtain wall based on a reference curve. I set the divisions and mullions and everything seems to be working like its supposed to except for a the mullions and the infill panels. First, the mullions vertically and horizontally dont seem to line up nor have any way to miter with themselves. They should because they are extruding along the same center point. This should be simple but it doesnt seem to work. Second, and the most annoying, is that the curtain wall infill panels dont seem to know where they are supposed to cut themselves. They leave themselves stranded at the ends for some reason and none of the settings for the panel or the curtain wall itself seems to address this. I thought it might have to do with the center point of the profile I used for the frames and mullions but apparently they dont and I dont have control of it. Seems like it should work a little more cleanly. Unless it is some sort of bug in ACA 2013.

We just installed 2014 on two work stations and saved a few Civil 3D files with it. When we try to open these Civil 3D drawings in 2013 they crash with a FATAL ERROR.
The last few lines on the command line shows: Loading Modeler DLLs.
Modeling Operation Error: Operation unsuccessful.
Modeling Operation Error: Operation unsuccessful.
This error seems to only happen with drawings that have infill grading. I tested it with a drawing with just poly lines and it worked fine. I then converted those poly lines into feature lines using 2014 and it opened fine in 2013. I then added an infill to the feature line region in 2014 and it crashes in 2013.

I'm attempting to write a batch script to add some layers to a pre-existing image and save a copy. I've gone through the tutorial, and have run the demo code from Basic_Batch with no errors, but my (what I think of as simple) script throws an "Error: eval: unbound variable: ?" It also seems to cascade the error to other scripts, as I then get "unmatched parentheses: 2" errors from what I assume to be the script immediately following my own during Script-Fu load. This occurs whether running from batch or clicking "Refresh Scripts" from the Script-Fu menu.
What I could find on this forum and Google suggests that I may be required to 'define' one or more of my variables before using it, but for the life of me, I can't figure out which one that would be, and the error (reporting that '?' is undefined!?) I've quintuply (probably more ~_^) checked my parenthesis matching, but they look fine to me.
In case this was an encoding issue, I've tried saving my .scm file as both UTF-8 and ANSI. I should also note that I'm running Windows 7 x64 in English-US.
Script:
(define (script-fu-build-imagebasefilemytext)(let*((image (car (gimp-file-load RUN-NONINTERACTIVE basefile basefile)))(drawable (car (gimp-image-get-active-layer image)))(title (car (gimp-text-layer-new image mytext "Courier" 18 UNIT-POINT))))(gimp-image-add-layer image title -1)(gimp-image-clean-all image)(gimp-file-save RUN-NONINTERACTIVE image drawable "K:\\Images\\Temp.gif" "Temp.gif")));
Since I intend for this script to only be run from batch, I haven't bothered including the typical register stuff.

I have a wall type that has an embeded sweep for the wall base. My project is set up in two phases, existing and new work. A door has been created in the existing phase, and demoed in the new phase. Where the door has been demolished an infill with the base appears, great! In the new phase I inserted a larger door that cuts the existing walland the entire infiil from the demolished door, but the base still remains. How do I get the new door to cut the base that was created as a result of the infill?

"An infill grading has no criteria applied to it. Any area bounded by feature lines or lot lines that is not already a grading can be converted to an infill grading."
So given an area enclosed by a feature line, an infill grading can be created. Using the same features line, an feature line grading can also be created. what is the difference between these two surfaces? They both have no criteria applied to them.

variable in autocad..I have drawing files with different dimension styles used inside..I can filter the dimension by selection set . But the problem is im filtering through dimstyle name.Is there any dxf code for selecting all kind of dimension styles. So that it will be useful for me.
But my problem is i need to apply one particular standard dimstyle to all my drawings. How i could set variable to my new dimstyle(new). This is my code for setting variable ,but its not updating in my current document.
this is my code;

I work with a drawing that for some reason don't have a proper fence line in it. I tried to load another .lin file, but still the fence line looks funny. The line I'm after looks and work ok in alla other files but this one!
I tried to copy paste a fence line from another drawing but what's pasted is just half the linetype...
The line should look like this -- / ---- / ---- / ---- but comes in as -- ---- ---- ----
Why do I loose the slashes?
*FENCEONBOUNDARY, Fence on boundary _____ / _____ / _____ / _____
A,.7,["/",STANDARD,S=.05,R=0.0,X=-0.1,Y=-.05],.1
The result should look like ----- / ----- / ----- / -----

I am currently running AutoCAD 2013 LT on a Windows 7 64 bit system. I was recently running this same software on a 32 bit system computer and everything was running properly. After the upgrade, I have noticed a linetype issue that I cannot seem to get a handle on.
We use a "insul" linetype on building sections that should come out looking like an architectural insulation pattern. After upgrading to the new computer, this linetype only reads as dots, nothing else. I have gone to other comnputers in the office that are displaying this linetype properly and have copied their acadlt.lin as well as acadltiso.lin files over to my computer and it has not solved the problem.

I am using Map 3D 2013
I have several drawings in which I want to use a line type (centrex2) at a specific scale. The scale setting is exactly the same in all the drawings but in some the line type is coming out at different scales, all larger, but not the same or to a set factor. All the entities in question are poly lines (2d).
I have checked in all drawings that:
global scale factor and current object scale in the line type manager are the same (1.0)drawing units are the same (unitless)‘use paper space units for scaling’ is always deselected line type generation is always enabled.

Currently in process of a quick fix, trying to create a linetype that should place a number in between the lines.
*One, Places 1 in between lines A,5000,-50,["1",CompatecStandard,U=0,Y=-125],-150
That's as far as I've gotten and it pretty much does what I want it too, but right now it is set to 5000mm before it makes a gap with a number. I would like that gap to be dependent on the length of the line... is that possible?
For example, if the line is only 4000mm I want the gap to be after 2000 instead of 5000.

Is it possible to creat a linetype that doesn't repeat.
What I'm after is a line consisting of:
Long Line
Space
Short Line (roughly 1/3 length of long line)
Space
Long Line
( ______ __ ______ )
But that is all I want to see, regardless of the distance between the start and end points. I use this a lot for laying out joists.
I know I could make a dynamic block of it, but that would mean streaching every line between the two points.

I have recently started using AutoCAD so I'm still figuring it out. I would like to create a line like this
¯¯¯V¯¯¯¯¯¯V¯¯¯¯¯¯V¯¯¯¯¯¯V¯¯¯¯¯¯V¯¯¯ and another one like this ¯¯V¯¯ ¯¯V¯¯ ¯¯V¯¯ ¯¯V¯¯ ¯¯V¯¯ (where the Vs link up with the line).
I have tried to do this through the lin file and have failed. The lines don't meet up, the gaps aren't in the right place and the line does not run along the top but in the middle: I have fiddles around with it but it complicated and long to do. I have also investigated creating these lines using express tools but it seems that this tool is not an option in AutoCAD LT 2010.

I have downloaded a slew of AutoCAD linetype files and have tried to "cut and paste" them into my acad notepad with no success - (maybe that's where I'm going wrong, right off the bat). Anyway, after pasting the lines of text into my notepad and saving the updated notepad, I return to AutoCAD only to find that the linetypes are not available for use.
