For some strange reason when I got to work this morning I was unable to view items as I draw. I can see lines as I draw once I specify the first point with ortho on or off, but I can't see shapes (dimensions, circles, rectangles, ellipse, or box) while I draw. Once I select the second point the object does appear but a setting has changed and I can't figure out how to get it back to normal.

I miss for instance the zoom, compare, 'spray' tool etc. Recently I could add and delete items, but now I don't see the arrow to do this(?) View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen in Orthographic view and in back, left, right, top, bottom, front view, I cannot draw an object as Cube by example. To be able to make the object I have to move a little bit my view .
Example. If I was in Ortho - Back view, I move the view a bit so it is not perfectly on the back view than it allowed me to draw object. Another way is to change to Perspective view.
why I cannot make object on straight orthographic view?
I was wondering if after drawing an alignment, creating a profile, and profile view, is there a way I can mark items along the alignment so they could show up in the profile view. I am laying out a pipeline and want to have the profile display a marker for items such as tees, elbows, reducers and other items. The marker I would like to use will be something like the vertical style grade break markers.
Also on a side note, as each of these items will have a different name, is there a way that I can add these markers and then have each one with a unique name?
Suddenly I can only select one item at a time. If I move onto another item, the first one de-selects. I haven't knowingly made any changes. What has happened and how to put it right? I can select multiple items via 'click and drag', but only within one drag - another drag then de-selects the first drag again.

This is from within an inventor drawing. You used to be able to select user work planes and origin planes to change the view to.
All of the sudden I cannot double click on text to edit and I cannot select items before I use a command. If I have selected an object the delete button will not work.

I made a drawing, but after using ilogic (ilogic is in drawing,assembly, part) in it, drawing view of a particular part is coming in hidden line, other are shaded as u can see in image.
Drawing view is associative, all edges shown, level of detail is master, view style is Hidden Line Removal with Shaded

When I create a "Break" in a view, Inventor glitches. The other views, and even the border, title block, and whatever else is in the drawing, will disappear. The other items reappear if I "Zoom All". Is there an update?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCivil 3D 2013, trying to edit a FG profile through the Profile Entities vista and Profile Layout Parameters dialog box. All entities in the vista are shaded (locked) and will not allow me to edit. Is there something that I am missing here? I should be able to edit the PVIs (or entities) correct? I couldn't find anything in documentation as to why these are shaded and not allowing me to edit them.

Upon dragging a clip from the library and onto the timeline, is there anyway of knowing which clips have been used already from the library view? In other words, I'd love to see some type of indicator or "check" mark that would allow me to know exactly which clips in the library view are already part of my timeline. Sometimes, there are clips that are sitting in the library that have not been included in my final production.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not able to draws circles and lines etc. using the ribbon or the command line. i am using the correct procedures per the tutorials and I have Google search how to add circles. I click the circle on the ribbon, choose my center point and drag to choose the radius, left click and no circle, same procedure for a simple line.
Is there something that needs to be activated for these to work? I have an activation code which I do not remember using when I installed the software, I only remember using the serial number and product key.
I was wondering if it exists a procedure to separate each individual 3D solid making part of a draw. I'd like to simulate an assembly like view .

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have made up furniture for layout views using the metric detail item template. Probably too many in this model category but it was a short cut to achieving presentation layouts. How can I now filter out certain detail items without zapping the rest. In this case it will be loose furniture but some fixed furniture is needed to remain visible in the next stage construction layout views. I want to do this by view template so that a) the view on sheet can be switched back to the presentation layout and b) keep the sheet as a revision rather than a new sheet.
Its not my preferred way of dong this but I am adapting to another architectural practices standard where sheet numbers are fixed and the layouts (GA's) retain the same number through sketch - tender - construction - as built stages (using a status sheet parameter and revision sequence)
I have Illusrator CS6, and it ask when I close, if I want to save to clipboard. Now the program runs slow. Is there any way to view clipboard and edit and/or delete items that are on it?

I have a problem drawing straight lines. Normally, like everyone, I will start from any given point and the line i wish to draw will snap to 0, 90 or 180 degrees. However there is now no snapping and no straight lines.
I have tried resetting SNAPANG to 0 (it is already set to 0) and this works for maybe the next 3 lines but then I am back to square one and cannot draw a straight line without constantly having to reset SNAPANG.
I've tried resetting USC to world. I've also tried changing PLAN to view and world.
I have received some electrical drawings that i'm making some alterations to. When i try to draw a line between fittings it just disappears. I'm not very experienced with auto cad and only really use it to alter drawings for final designs.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just stated using AutoCAD 2006 this summer as an intern for an engineering department. The program has become pretty easy to use and I thought i was getting the hang of it.
All of a sudden, when i draw a line, circle, or another shape, i can't see the input bar that floats at the end of the line.
What im talking about is the small display that always sticks to the end of the object your drawing. It displays the angle the line is drawn at, you can see what measurement you're typing in.
I've got a Profile View style set up just the way I want it. The only problem that I have is that the automated fill hatch that I'm using between my existing and finish profiles is showing up behind the grid lines. Unfortunately, we use "lines overwrite" as a standard, so I can't just switch to "lines merge". Any way or a setting that would allow me to move the draw order of the fill hatch above the grid lines?

View 0 Replies View RelatedUsing CS5.When I try to move any object by selecting and then trying to drag, it won't let me. It allows me to drag while selected maybe half an inch before not moving anymore, and then snaps back to the original position anyway. I CAN move by using transform - move, or selecting and using arrow keys. When I restart my computer everything seems fine, but then it soon gives me this same problem.
Also, when I'm having the object moving issue I also have problems with dropdown menus. For example when printing, I can see the list of printers, but clicking them has no effect. Another example is the Preferences menu box, clicking "Type" or "Units" has no effect.
I've written my first little Lisp function.What it's for is drawing a simple borehole profile that can then be used to draw stylized cross sections on top of it.
Upon start the lisp, pick a point on screen (to get the X coordinate [x1 below]), then enter ground level at the command line [g1 below], then enter as many thicknesses as are present in the borehole log (will vary, but typically between 3-12). These I added to a list, because that seemed to make sense when I did it.
What I want it to do then is draw a pline from x1, g1 down to the next point (x1,g1 minus the 1st thickness), then the next (x1,g1 minus the 2nd thickness) etc., to the bottom of the borehole.
Then my CAD guys can sit there, and using the borehole logs, enter the values of the boreholes and it draws them on the screen, making it easy to join th dots.
It might be good if it placed a Acad point at each point as well, but I'm not overly bothered about that at the minute.

I'm working in ACAD 2012. I am at times, unable to draw simple vertical lines in the z-axis. Drawing pluming riser diagrams in 3D. Steps I am taking,
1) Opening the drawing.
2) X referencing a floor plan.
3) Changing the view using the cube to SW Isometric
4) Using the LINE command selecting a point, aligning the cursor with what seems like the Z-axis and entering the distance, heighten enter.
The line drawn is flat. This line can be seen as flat when rotating views. The only solution I have found is to use the "Reset Autocad Settings to Default"
Observations: Sometimes I am able to draw in 3D just fine, but something will happen in the middle of the drawing process that will now only allow me to draw flat. Also was never able to draw polylines in 3D is that how it's supposed to be? Used another computer with the same drawing, at first won't allow me to draw in 3D but after a couple attempts will eventually draw in 3D just fine. Tried starting from a blank template, no luck. Tried changing drawing space to 3D modeling and 3D basics, no luck. Also, when working drawings with existing 3D objects, I am able to snap to vertical point as a start point but cannot snap to a point on any other points on the object that at are at a different elevation.
I have created a profile. I have my surfaces, projected other surfaces onto it, looks good. So then, I want to do some simple drawing on my profile. Everything looks good in model space. Create a viewport for the profile and things(basic linework) appear in a different location than where I drew them. I figure I need to project an object to make it work because they are associated.
So I draw my simple arc ( arch culvert) with footings and block it. great its where i want it and its a block. Gave it the appropriate elevation when creating the block. go through the project objects and it added. But now its added it in a different spot.
