All of the sudden I cannot double click on text to edit and I cannot select items before I use a command. If I have selected an object the delete button will not work.

I can select mtext in paper space to edit it. I can create a new text object and select it but I am unable to select existing mtext objects. Audit and recover does not eliminate it. Everything is at 0 elevation. The only to select it is to write block the entire drawing out. That gets sort of inconvenient. Is there a variable that is getting set like the imageframe variables that prevents me from select the text?

What has happened and how to put it right? I can select multiple items via 'click and drag', but only within one drag - another drag then de-selects the first drag again.

For whatever reason the "select similar" command has disappeared from both my right click menu and my cui list when I'm in my personal profile on Architecture... Can't seem to get it back in my personal profile although can access it if I go back to the Autodesk Standard profile.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to select all Text-based items (Text,Mtext and Attribute References) in a drawing to check to see if they match a pattern in a regular expression. Although i have a block with an attribute in the drawing and the selection filter consisting of

It isn't picking up the attribute Reference in the block.
Is there a workaround using the Editor.SelectAll method and not having to programmatically check each block's attributes? I'm using AutoCAD 2009.
I have about forty maps created in DP6. Each of these has numerous pieces of text within it. These include title, map number, descriptive notes, individual letters such as A B C, scales, map symbols etc etc. These are currently all in Arial with some parts being bolded.
My question is:
In any one map can I select all the text within that map and change the character of the font? Ie can I grab all the text and change it from arial to a serif font? Or change all the text to a different colour?
I hope it can be done. I have done a bit of experimenting but have not found a way yet.
Any way to turn off the ghost text that appears when you select text that is annotative, not get rid of it just not show all of the other scales for clarity.

So, ideally, I would have a front page to my drawing set, and this would have a 'Contents' type table on it, with the title name of each drawing in one column, then the drawing number in the next column. This is the tricky bit, someone must know: If i was to change the name / number of any item in this table, could it change also (linked to) the following items:
Drawing title (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Drawing number (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Elevation call-out (on the plan view)
And possibly:
Excel reference cell
Drawing layout tab title (this might be pushing it!!)
Perhaps this could be done by linking to an external Excel spreadsheet with these titles modified in there? I'm not sure. This would be ideal as typing into excel is a lot easier than the triple click text modify method required currently.
I waste a lot of time renaming and updating sheet names / titles / numbers. Are there standard templates for drawing sets that may have this built in available anywhere that I could try?
When I select the text tool and click in the layout area, I type "i" and upon clicking off it auto changes to a capital "I". It's never done this before. If I do i space i space i space, it keeps changing, it won't allow me to have lower case letters.

When I click the select tool, a brown selection type of rectangle appears in a particular area of the illustration, even though I have not clicked on the illustration yet. I assume it is some type of warning indication, but don't know what. P.S. It is draggable and scaleable - I can move it off the artboard. An example:

When i choose one item it goes dashed (as they normally do), but when i click the second item the first one i chose goes back to solid and if i press return only the second item i selected if affected. Similarly if i choose 3 items , it forgets the first two and only keeps the third one.. Is this an Autocad options thing or a windows Mouse thing?

Is there anyway for me to change the colors so it's just black and white? Also, when I print it, there's a line between my 1st floor roof, my floor joist, and the floor for my 2nd story. Is there any way I can get rid of that, such as joining the walls? I'm using AutoCAD Architecture 2013.
View 3 Replies View RelatedTrying to setup my machine at home to match my machine at work. To clear things up, I'm running ACA 2009 on both machines, both are running XP Professional, although I'm running XP Professional at home through VMWare Fusion 4 on my MacBook Pro and I really doubt that could cause these issues since a coworker is having these issues at work on a PC.
First of all when I startup ACA 2009 almost everything is missing! When I go to profiles and load the imperial profile I get the wonderful ribbon, which I immediately use RIBBONCLOSE to turn off but then I don't have any file menus. I have the large A in the upper left corner but it only has File, Edit, and Exit I believe. So I used MENULOAD to get the ACAD.cui back up and then reinserted the install CD to add EXPRESSTOOLS back (...why aren't this included to start....that's for another time).
So now I have a something pretty close to my work machine after moving some properties, xref, and tool palettes around. I don't really use any buttons so it is a pretty minimalist desktop. Now down to the real question...
Where did the Project Browser and Style Managers disappear to? I know, I know, ending in a preposition...I can't think anymore today and Autodesk you are responsible. Is it just me or does Autodesk seem to be hiding more and more from us with each release every year? I can type ProjectBrowser into the command line and it will appear but it isn't under the File menu and more and I honestly couldn't find the Style Manager command prompt so I can't tell you if that works.
How do I get these two items to reappear, neither of the two buttons existing either in the standard ACAD.cui configuration next to Tool Palette, etc
Also, why don't the profiles work anymore? If I save it under profiles and reload it the next time everything is messed up nothing happens, and yes the shortcut I use to start ACA references that profile.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason when I got to work this morning I was unable to view items as I draw. I can see lines as I draw once I specify the first point with ortho on or off, but I can't see shapes (dimensions, circles, rectangles, ellipse, or box) while I draw. Once I select the second point the object does appear but a setting has changed and I can't figure out how to get it back to normal.

My prefs are identical for this feature as they have for the past several version of InDesign. My partner also has trouble with copy/paste in InDesign and Illustrator as well.

I have sometimes an array with 10x45=450 assemblies. Because this slows down my computer dramaticly I use LOD to suppress parts within the assembly. The problem is that I have to expand every single assembly in the array, select all of them and than choose the LOD I want. This takes me a lot of time. Is there a way I can select all assemblies within an array with one (or two) clicks?

each artboard has a text item and I would like them in the same position on each of their own artboards that they are already one. right now it adjusts them all to one artboard. here is what I have so far

Civil 3D 2013, trying to edit a FG profile through the Profile Entities vista and Profile Layout Parameters dialog box. All entities in the vista are shaded (locked) and will not allow me to edit. Is there something that I am missing here? I should be able to edit the PVIs (or entities) correct? I couldn't find anything in documentation as to why these are shaded and not allowing me to edit them.

If I pick a door/window tag, I no longer get the specific options to anchor it to a specific door/window. This is typical of all objects now. All that ever pops up is the basic context menu.

In my .NET application, I provide my user with a list of drawing files (.dwg) that they can choose to open. Once my user has selected a file, my application will open the selected drawing in AutoCAD Architecture. In this drawing, the user can click on an object in the drawing.
Can this mouse click event be captured and the object ID for the selected object be returned to my application?
I'm trying to select every object with the color "CutContour" So far I've been trying:
myDoc.selection = myDoc.spots.getByName("CutContour"); I guess this obviouslly wouldn't work though because myDoc.selection is looking for an array of objects. However, I can't figure out how to loop through all the objects in the document and check to see if they contain the SpotColor.
I want to use the Select > Same > Stroke Color , but I heard that using that in Javascript isn't available unless you have CS6 (which I currently don't). Is it true that accessing menu items through scripting is a feature in CS6?
