AutoCad 2D :: Lines Turn White?
Jan 26, 2012
When I work in modelspace, the lines on layer 0 turn white after I have done some text editing and then panned away. The only way to get them back to default colors is to switch to paperspace and then come back to modelspace. It is only changing the display color on the monitor. The colors are still set in the layer controls. I am using Architecture 2009.

I was trying for an option with wipeout mask.
Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? I have been working on one staircase block, i want to show half block as a dotted lines.. is there any way to do that without going in to the block edit and change? thats why am looking for wipeout mask option.

I would like to draw parts in 3d view which look very basic, i.e. out of a book.
Example:
white block with black lines so you can see it is 3d.background should also be white.
How do i set autocad (2012/2013) to do this. I would like the model space to be the same and not just for printing.

I've created a corridor with a Cul-de-sac. The problem is that the daylight lines targeted to the existing ground intersect at turn segments:Â
which results in defects of corridor surface:
I wonder if there's a way to overcome this.

At my company when producing drawings for manufacture we require a sheet for any steel profiles to be cut!..We do this by selecting the assembly from base view, hitting model view tab, selecting presentation and choosing the relevant profile from the drop down!
Once the profile is placed, we highlight the view and hit the parts list tab which obviously creates a parts list, but for the whole assembly, we then have to edit the parts list by turning off the visibility of the lines of all the parts which are not relevant!!...as you can imagine this is quite a laborious task if you have 50 different profiles.
The reason for this is to show the qty, steel grade and part number to the suppliers. My question is, any code that will take the lines of the parts list that are not relevant to the selected view and turn the visibility of those lines off?

I have a rather weird problem. I am using .dxf files as digital overlays on a new optical comparator we recently purchased. The problem is, the cad files we used to create our old mylar overlays is both 3d and comprised of text/curves/dimensions. I figured out the flattening and turning the text into lines and curves, but I cannot find a method to change the dimension graphics (profile boxes, length dimensions, and angle dimensions) into lines and curves.
When I import them into the comparator program only the lines and curves can be displayed on the comparator. Is there any way to flatten and make all of the dimension graphics lines and curves?

This problem has bugged me for several versions. Â I'm using 2012 at the moment as I haven't wanted to get into the fiasco of a new drawing version with 2013.Anyway, the image below really tells the story for me:
You can see the behavior of the crosshairs overlapping a drawing line with Hardware Acceleration On and Off. Â It's always been handy to have the drawing lines or crosshair go to the "negative" color when they overlap. Â However, with Acceleration ON, that behavior goes away entirely. This happens on every machine we have. Â It's not isolated to one machine or video card. Â In fact, on this same machine I have had this happen with two entirely different video cards.
So, I have to choose...hardware acceleration or overlapping negative colored lines.

I have encountered a following anomality in AutoCAD LT 2011 with W7 64-bit operating system. Graphics card is Nvidia Quadro FX 380 with 265.70 drivers. The problem is that all red lines apper white in the model ie. layer tells that the line is red but it appears white.
This anomality has happened in multiple dwg's. There is no clear logic why or when this happens. When AutoCAD has started situation seems to be normal (red lines are red) for a while. After a while every red line turns white. This color changing does not concern dimensions, only lines and polylines.

This is probably really basic but... I'm a printer and only really use Photoshop for changing RGB to CMYK, clear cutting (with Vertus fluid mask) and things like that. However a lot of the photos I have to clear cut have been done already but not saved (or given to me to use) with the transparency still there. Is there some easy way to turn all the white pixels into transparency? Obviously you'd have to mask any white pixels in the image you wanted to keep. A sample is attached.

on a picture. i can turn a blue object into yellow, green or any other color. and vice versa. To do that i know 5 different ways, or combination of those methods. 1- Hue/Saturation2- Color Balance3- Selective Color4- Replece Color (Similar to Hue/Saturation) 5- select the area, create a new layer, paint the selected area on new layer, blend the new layer with "linear burn". but when it comes to black, i can't change the black to another color with any of the ways above. So i was wondering if it is possible to turn a black object into white without killing the texture. Or cleaning the object from colors, making it colorless.best way i know so far is playing with "exposure" settings. but this time the objcet on the image is becoming blure and loosing its texture. Here is the object i m trying to make white (or colorless). Do you know any way to do it? i need to make that shoe as white/colorless as this one below.

I have a picture of a red velour colored recliner type chair that i want to make white instead of red. I've been messing with the hue/saturation but cant really get it. The thing is that there are parts of the picture where the velvet texture is naturally darker than the rest of the spots, and to keep the chair looking real and 3d, they have to stay a darker color than the white color I want to make it. but when i use the hue options, it just lightens everything on the chair.

I have a JPG which is a black and white line drawing I want to drop this on a collage where the line drawing shows, but the background must be transparent so other things come through. Essentially, I want to turn the color [ or lack thereof] white to be transparent, and black to be black.
How to do this, or if it can be done.

Have great pic of Christ Of The Andes. Huge statue in foreground (gray color), and all white sky in background because of overcast day. I want to change the sky color from white to blue. Formerly, in Elements 4, I could do it easily with the Magic Wand tool. I recently upgraded to Elements 11 and, to my shock, find there is no Magic Wand tool. I am running Windows 7. I tried the Brush tool and, while it selects the correct area, I can't get it to insert the blue color. It is not a choice of color offered. Only gray. I also tried via a new layer, but could not get that to work either.Â

I'm designing a badge for my cricket team and have created a design using a shield shape which I've divided into four quarters with a horizontal and a vertical line. How do I split the shape so I can colour the individual quarters? There are similar areas of the design made up of lines that I want to colour individually. I guess the question is, if I created a square shape by drawing four separate lines, how do I join the lines in order to fill the square shape with colour?
