AutoCAD Inventor :: Show Thread Features In Drawing View By Default
May 1, 2006When you have a part with a thread feature, the default setting should show the thread feature in the drawing view...rather than making the user right click the view and select "Display Thread Feature". I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.

Nov 8, 2012Here is the issue we have found. While sectioning a view of an assembly in idw, the threaded lines of threaded features have a strange behavior depending on the section line used. I have attached a simple example that shows what he have found. Basically, if the section line is straight, threaded features show correctely. Independent of section participation. If the section has segments at different angles, then lines are not appearing.
The first three views have both parts excluded from section participation(Obviously, there isn't any real life need for this, but I did it to just simplify the illustration without adding a bunch extra parts) The base view is the top view or view showing the round shape. For the first example at the bottom, i simply projected the view to the left and made sure "Threaded Features" was selected. Threaded lines show fine.
Second example is the similiar, except the i used a section view instead of the projected view. Both parts are excluded. Section line is straight. Verticle in this example. Doesn't have to vertical as the line is straight.
Next example is similiar to the second, only difference is the section is not straight. You can see the threaded lines do not show. This is the problem we want to solve. How to make the threaded lines display!!!
Last example shows the same section, only this time the component is included in the section participation. And it works.
Any settings to change or a trick to make it work. Otherwise, i think i need to issue a support request with autodesk.

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Turn Continue Straight Line With Tangent Arc Feature On
Sep 9, 2012i have problem with the Application option settings for sketch enviroment: When i draw a line in the sketch, i am not able to do the "click hold for a tangent arc to the representing line" it just starts a new straight line.
I know it has something to do with the settings, but can figure out what the correct settings are...

AutoCAD Inventor :: Tangent Lines Display Options
Dec 4, 2013I used Solid Edge for my entire professional career. One thing that is driving me batty is how, when necessary in a view for clarity, tangent lines are displayed and how to change them, or at the very least, come up with a work around to display them how is needed. In general, tangent lines are first, supposed to be of thinner lineweight, but also, are not supposed to extend all the way across the surface of a part, they are to leave a small gap.
I have found and tried the option of displaying tangent lines, and also have checked the for shorten option. The issue is, in many of the parts the gap produced in HUGE. So I've spent a few hours tinkering, and I finally decided to try and define a new linetype using autocad express tools. So I tried this, but to my dismay I haven't been able to set up a linetype that only has a gap at the end. See attached jpeg for illustration.

Jun 9, 2013In other softwares when you creat a spline you are able to adjust the curvature between points by dragging the slope handles at a node. In my file, I have thus far been unable to fair my splines with any kind of consistancy. Also, it should be possible to place a tangent constaint to a straight line at a point, yet I haven't been able to do that either. According to the help files this should be an easy thing to adjust, Why am I not able to?

Oct 4, 2012I'd like to use an "NPT" Hole Dialog thread but it doesn't show up in the Thread type list.But it does show up in the Thread Dialog/Specifications Tab/ Thread type list so it's available.
I definitely have "NPT" in my Thread.xls & I have my Options/Files set to point to the correct Design Data folder.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Can't Thread Holes With Thread Tool
Mar 1, 2011I can drill a hole as needed, but can't thread a hole at all. Not with the Tapped Hole function when drilling the hole, or after drilling the hole then using the Thread Tool. Inventor will just not let me create threads this way outside of cutting a coil.

Aug 21, 2013At my company when producing drawings for manufacture we require a sheet for any steel profiles to be cut!..We do this by selecting the assembly from base view,hitting model view tab, selecting presentation and choosing the relevant profile from the drop down!
Once the profile is placed, we highlight the view and hit the parts list tab which obviously creates a parts list, but for the whole assembly, we then have to edit the parts list by turning off the visibility of the lines of all the parts which are not relevant!!...as you can imagine this is quite a laborious task if you have 50 different profiles.
The reason for this is to show the qty, steel grade and part number to the suppliers. My question is, any code that will take the lines of the parts list that are not relevant to the selected view and turn the visibility of those lines off?

Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? Photoshop :: Files Slower In CC - Any Features Can Turn Off
Jul 24, 2013I finally updated from photoshop 7 (ancient, eh) to Photoshop CC recently. My computer uses Windows 7.I noticed that my files seems slower when I was working on it via photoshop CS3 (office machine) compared to photoshop CC:
1) When zooming in with CTRL+, photoshop CC seems to go from a low res to gradually filtering to higher res, compared to photoshop CS3's rather jagged, broken lines to smoother lines. The new feature, was causing my files to slow down, because zooming in and out seems to be taking longer than before. Is this a feature I can turn off?
2) I was wondering if photoshop CC being slow is also affected by my file size. The image is 37cm x 142cm at 300 pixel/inch. The file is quite small at 38.8Mb, but I noticed that the document size on the photoshop status bar is 209.7M/552.0M instead. I was wondering if this status bar was a clearer indicator of how slow I could expect the file to be?
3) Lastly, er, this might seem a stupid question, but I was wondering if photoshop CC being slow might be just be an indicator of my computer on the overall being slow. I recently replaced a 3 year old desktop drive with separate power plug with a portable harddrive. When my computer is reading into the harddrive it does get slower. Does Photoshop CC automatically read into external hard drives when it is working?

Jun 27, 2012Often we build a design surface from feature lines and possibly a grading or two. Then we cut sections.
Now, for set out, and especially for smaller contractors who don't have fancy survey gear, it would be really nice to be able to show design surface levels in section bands BUT ONLY AT THE SURFACE-DEFINING FEATURE LINE LOCATIONS.
I am aware that we can use grade breaks...but this gives us band data at each triangle intercept which is too much data. We can weed this data, but that is indiscriminate and I really need only the data at the surface-defining geometry points (feature line locations.)
We can also use station/elevation labels on the section views but this is time-consuming and non-dynamic. Band labels are dynamic and more or less automatic...if only we could get the discrete locations we need labelled.

Whether these flows are processed and to receive data in parallel? Or go to the consistent implementation of this algorithm will first be processed by the first part, and only after it will start the second ...?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Add-in Thread Modeler
Jan 23, 2013I am having a terrible time getting the thread modeler to work correctly for an M16x 1.5 thread. I have tried multiple approaches to get the correct thread dimensions output.These are the steps I take:
1) Create hole (I've used both major and minor thread diameters,16mm and 14.376mm)
2) Apply Inventor threads (M16 x 1.5)
3) Select threads from tree using the Add-in thread modeler "Controller"
4) Analyze dimensions finding both cases yield the wrong dimensions.
This add-in would be very useful and a great time saver if it would work correctly.

Jun 13, 2012I have recently installed Inventor 2013 Professional Ultimate and am having some issues. I can not seem to get the Thread function to work. When I go to apply a thread I get the follow error....
When I go to search the directory, I find that the Thread xls document is infact there, but it is not located where the program thinks it should be (XLS Folder --> en-US Folder)
I also made sure that the Design Data location was correct within the Application Options...
A reboot of the computer did not work.
