Although automatic rotating is on, the HP plotter DesignJet 500 plus uses the paper wasting method.
In the layout preview of Civil 3D 2012 the result looks good, but I need one meter of the paper roll for this plot.
I have a problem with print from Autodesk Mechanical on a HP Designjet 500 24.
The system is a Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
When I select the printer, the printer returns to "none".
I have tried several drivers, the HP Designjet 500 plus 24 or HP DesignJet 500 24+HPGL2 card.
I can select the HP DesignJet 500 24+HPGL2 card, but since that driver is incorrect for my printer, it doesn't print.
I have found this same problem for a HP Designjet T610.
Here is says to use a driver version from 10 feb 2010 or later. But there isn't any driver around or after this date for the HP Designjet 500.
Other program's can print just fine through the original HP Designjet 500 24 driver.
I have a question about plotting at Canon plotter (Canon imagePROGRAF iPF750) with possible has feature to plot as a drawn area.
Simply say I want to specified only one custom/roll paper size, make it custom size as a default. After that I want to plot exactly the accurate drawn area from my dwg. So with this settings I cannot specified custom paper size for each unique dwg.
For example I'm using this settings with another plotting device -- Xerox WF (picture to see the chosen settings) and working like a charm.
I am having trouble printing to an HP Designjet T770 from AutoCad LT 2012, on a Windows 7 computer.
I am using the HPGL/2 driver. I can print a test page, and I can print from other programs.
When I try to print, it looks like it is sending it normally, but the printer just ignores it.
I am able to print to this printer from AutoCad 2010 on a Vista computer.
I am trying to plot a layout sheet 24'' W x 18" H. The frame on my sheet is 22''W x 16''L (inside the dash lines limits we see on the layout). I believe I prepare the print correctly:
- Select the printer (HP DESIGN JET PS)
- I use the window fonction to select the printable area ( left upper corner and then the opposite corner).
- Select Paper size Arch C (landscape)
- Paper orientation: Lansdcape
The preview shows that the upper and bottom lines of my frame will not print, and they do not, even if I try (see the attachement below).
Is this a driver problem?
In AutoCAD 2014 and ASD2013 I cannot choose one of the printer, which is installed on Windows (OCE TDS600). It is strange, because Autocad sees it on the list of available plotters, but when I try to select it - it automaticly changes to "None".
The plotter is properly configured - I can print with it from Revit 2013 without any problems. Also when I switch account to any other (on that same computer) everything works fine.
I tried to add this plotter through "Add-A-Plotter Wizard", but each time I obtain an error massage "Autodesk Hardcopy component failed..."

Client machines are windows7 64bit sp1.Having issues with one plotter at this point-- HP DesignJet T1200 HD MFP.
.This plotter worked fine with AutoCAD 2013 Autodesk software uses windows printer objects for printing not pc3s.
Plotter driver is the newest hpgl2 off hp's website for that plotter.
So far crashes when attempting to plot from autocad and revit. Gets the attached message.
Printing pdf's to an HP Designjet 1055 using the new Acrobat X version. I can't change the page size from 8.5x11and nothing comes out at the 1055. Works fine to our Xerox 6204 printers. Looks like I could be going back to Acrobat 9.4...

When I choose the 6204 as my plotter I get the following message : "This plotter configuration cannot be used for one of these reasons: the driver cannot be found, the device cannot be found, or the driver has a problem. The None plot device has been substituted." it does not matter if I choose to try and print to the plotter or make a PDF this error comes. up..

The problem is when I go to plot I get a warning message stating that "this plotter configuration cannot be used" and it goes on to list a few reasons why and selects the "none" plotter. Then when at the plot setup page I can continue to plot as I normally would. Why am I getting this warning and how do I stop it?

In the LONG process of trying to figure out plotting in 2000, I ended up having a lot of plotter names to select from when I go to plot. We have 2 HP 450C plotters and 2 printers (HP5000N & HP 1220C) and I only have one pc3 file for each on the server. I want to nknow how to remove some of the plotter names from ACAD and have only the 2 plotters and 2 printers to choose from when you go to plot.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to plot a pdf file that is approx 1MB. We have a HP designjet 500 plus, with 32MB of Ram. When I try to plot it though, The plotter displays a messag: 'Out of memory. Data Lost'. I unfortunately only have the PDF file. Is there any way for me to plot this file?
I tried to print it as a pdf by using a virtual pdf printer, but the end result is the same.
I need to change printer/plotter (maybe PC3 file) on my drawings. For example I have 'printerN.pc3' setted and I need to set 'PrinterM.pc3'. Also need to change print scale. But since I have many drawing I need somithing thatcan do iy automatically. So what I need:
I need to replace specific plotter to anither plotter:
1. For example if plotter setted to "HP" -> change to "Canon"
2. If paper size (2) is A3, set Plot scale (3) to 1:1.015, if Paper size (2) - A4, set Plot scale (3) to 1:1.02
Seems like I can do it with AutoLISP.

I have problem with AutoCAD DWG to PDF printer. When I use a vector drawing with a raster map attached and print the layout with the DWG to PDF printer, all the vector elements looks perfect in the output pdf file, but the raster image is almost unreadable. It doesn't work if I increase print resolution and it looks if there would be some kind of default jpeg compression inside this printer but there aren't any settings to control it or simply turn it off. After plotting such a drawing on the HP plotter it is so awful that there is no use of such a file.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI get this message when I go to print in acad 2008.The following shortcuts in the plotter search were invalid and ignored: (invalid path is displayed here...) ending with .ink.The path exists and yet it says invalid and ignored. I hit OK and it continues to the plot dialog and everything works. How to correct the path or disable the dialog... I looked in the options/files(tab)/printer support file path and they are setup to our printers, but the error continues to pop up.

Any plotter driver that works for this situation? Every one I have tried has generated a plt file, but the Kip would not convert it or open it.

Apparently there is no support from HP for Windows 7 drivers. I'm no expert but what I've read it seems that I can use the HDI driver. Go slow since this i new to me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the process of releasing 2013 to the office. We have about 60 machines being loaded, varying from 64-bit Win 7, 32-bit Win 7 and 32-bit Win XP. I have gone through and created new PC3 files for our two KIP printers (3000 & 7000 series). I added one custom page size to each to create a PMP that goes along with them. These files have been placed onto a network folder for all users to access. This is where my confusion begins.
When other users go to utilize these files it is giving an error stating that "the plotter configuration cannot be found, driver cannot be found, device cannot be found, yada yada. The none has been substituted."
So we began to look at the PC3 files and see what the issues are. When the same file on the Server is copied down to a local machine it changes back to a KIP10 driver down from a KIP11 driver on the network. Make Sense?
In order to fix I began running the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on the local machine. Created a new PC3 wiih a different name and went back into the program. Now the PC3's that did not work before WORK.
In short, since the 2013 version has a new file format do we have to run the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on all local machines before the standard PC3 file will work effectively? Or does having 2011 version still on the machines have an effect on these files?

I made an attempt at drawing out what I'm trying to say in MSPaint. At my office we use an HP Designjet 800ps to plot our drawings, most everyone uses AutoCAD 2010-2011 and I use AutoCAD LT 2010. All of our drawings are ANSI C size (17"x22") and we use paper rolls that are 24" wide x 150' long. For some reason our plotter always prints our drawings sideways causing us (read 'me, the assistant') to have to trim the excess off of every single print. Not only is this time consuming but it is a huge waste of paper! If I can get it to rotate we will get 19 MORE plots out of every roll of paper!!!
I was wondering if there is some way to change settings somewhere so that our drawings are printed the correct way, saving me lots of time and saving our company lots of paper? Is it normal to plot this way?
I am a Mac user and new to AutoCAD. I am enrolled in a CAD class this semester and the instructor for my session is requiring Windows. Supposedly this is because AutoCAD for Mac does not allow for proper printing on their plot style setting.
I understand that I can install Bootcamp and Windows on my computer, but I'd really like to avoid that if I can. If I were to do my work on my Mac and then digitally transfer my files to a PC for printing purposes, would my files become corrupted or compromised in any way?
I am plotting a file that has a pdf referenced into it. The quality of the plot is degraded only at the inserted pdf. The rest of the AutoCAD file looks fine. The inserted pdf is a printed AutoCAD file which looks clear and even has embedded layers and linework I can snap to (which seems to indicate that there is vector information present when it is in Autocad.
I have attached an image with 4 zoomed-in screen shots to show what I'm describing.
I have layouts set to print to a printer in the office, sometimes with different sized sheets. Everything worked perfect until we upgraded from Civil 3d 2013 to 2014. Where I'm gettin a problem now is publishing to PDF. It will cut off the left and right margins of the 11x17 sheets. I've tried everything and looked everywhere but can't keep it from doing that.
Is there anywhere to set the publish to PDF settings? I've played with the DWG to PDF.pc3 settings and no change.
When printing in 3d with the vp set to 3dhidden and the shade plot set to hidden legacy some solid items print with the wire frame. This usualy happens with torus and cones. How do I stop this?

I have a template with layouts of different sizes that had been working fine with a previous Xerox 6204. My D size and E size automatically oriented with the 36" side parallel to the roll feed. I have since moved to a job that got a Designjet T2300. On this machine the D size orients the 24" side parallel. This wastes 1' of paper on the left and uses 1' extra as it runs the 36" side perpendicular. I have been unable to rectify the problem. I have tried printing in portrait, that actually cut off some of the image. I have tried all types of rotation within the driver and layouts. Tech support had me going into the machine settings and set rotation to 90. Nothing. There is a warning that "HP utilities" is not installed. Could this be a remedy? When the tech came to set up the printer he installed the necessary drivers but mad no mention of this utility.

i have to admit i rarely printed from LR before.most of the time i print from photoshop.but yesterday i had to print a lot of small images so i thought i try LR for it.
i wanted to print a few 35x45mm images on DIN A4 paper.
images dimensions are correct (35x45mm 360 DPI) and it prints as 35x45mm images when i use photoshop.
when i use LR and i set the cell size to 35x45mm the prints come out to small by a couple of millimeters.
LR has not so many print settings i could have messed up.. right?
When printing to PDF via the DWG to PDF.pc3, I am getting a blank PDF. When i hit preview everything shows fine, but when I print it all disappears. The layers list shows in the PDF on the right, but turning them on and off does nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a HP Designjet Z3100. And I can’t get the colors right. Everything looks great on the screen but then I print I get this ugly strong light green color. I have really tried different settings without success I have also tried X4 and X5 with the same result.
Everything is ok if I export the file to PDF and then print, but then I print from the cdr file its get very ugly.
I have the same problem with other printers but then I change the printer’s own settings to Saturation in the color settings.

PDF output = The same file as the CDR that looks good then I print it.
ugly green = This is how the print looks like (I get these colors then I use my Nitro PDF printer)
I'm using ACAD2011 and a HP DesignJet 500 plotter. We use PDF underlays of scanned charts, maps, etc in our cad plans and sometimes the PDFs will only partially plots even though the rest of the cad line work plots. We are using 2007 dwg file format to make files compatible with another program. I have monkeyed with the RASTERPERCENT and RASTERTHRESHHOLD variables but still same problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDWG to PDF is not printing certain files correctly. It appears to only happen with the dots hatch pattern and the Dots linetype with a 0.0003" lineweight in the CTB file. The lines with the issue have color and pline width (zero). Print preview show, plotting to a printer, and using adobe show the lineweight correctly but using DWG to PDF does not.
