Nov 27, 2013Is there a way to get rid of the unreferenced image files from a drawing from the command line. I have thousands of dwgs to batch edit using a script and Script Pro and need to automate the "right click and detach" on the command line.

Jul 26, 2012I'm trying to reload a bunch of xref's through the project support path that I have setup, Really the project support path should be able to reload all the xref if they are already there. The problem is that the xrefs that im trying to reload ( the staus: says Unfreferenced and the type: Attachment) and when I type in the project name and then reload the xrefs, they should be able to find and link the xref to the drawing, but Im getting a a message saying that the xrefs are Orphaned and the status is Unreferenced. Its as though the system cant seem to find the xrefs with my projectname support path that I have setup.

Oct 29, 2012Just got the upgrade from 2012 to 2013 AutoCAD. When I opened the file from 2012 to 2013 for editing, my sub-xref file become "Unreferenced". The main Xref is loaded and fine. I tried to reload it but it doesn't work, and only its text path that are shown in there. It seems that the sub-xref file is in the right path when I trying to verify it location. So, what I did was use my old 2010 Autocad to finish my task which work fine. Why my sub-xref is in "unreference"condition using 2013 AutoCAD.?

I was working on the drawing this morning and reloaded the XREF without trouble, then I saved the retic drawing as a Rev 3 and now I cannot reload the XREF. Then when Id like to remove and reattach it I cannot find it in XREF manager yet it is still visible on my drawing.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Publishing Image Results In Ugly Visual Artifacts In Image?
Oct 1, 2013I have installed Infrastructure Design Suite 2014 on one of my users' workstation and one of the several problems she is having I can't find info on anywhere: When she uses the DWG to PDF driver she is getting strange artifacts that, at first glance, look like little blocks randomly placed around her drawings. These are always over/ in viewports. They do NOT show up in plot preview. I tried plot and publish. Both give same results. When zoomed in you can see they are tiny little viewport control dialog boxes that seem to have been placed on the plot at random.

May 21, 2013I am updating my CUI ribbon for some of my customized buttons. I have changed some of the bitmap images that I have saved in my network folder for the network AutoCAD customization. However, I cannot get the Ribbon to update to show the new button images.
I have opened the CUI, browsed down to the partial CUI for our corporate configuration, then to the "Ribbon", then to the "Tabs", then to the individual section of the tab and clicked on it. Then I click on the specific button in the "Panel Preview" pane to get the properties for that button to show. Then at the bottom of the "Properties" panel, I click on the "Small Image" line to see the three dots that allow you to browse to where the .bmp is stored. I have not renamed the bitmaps, but just modified their color and the way they look. So I have to change the .bmp file to a different location in the small image properties, then change it back to the correct image name. It will update the appearance in the "Panel Preview", but will not update the actual ribbon. I click on "Apply" and "OK", and it still doesn't update the actual ribbon. I have tried closing and restarting AutoCAD after that. As a last resort, I rebooted to see if that would complete the change, but in vain.
I made sure that the network location for the bitmap files is listed in my Options > Support File Search Path (very near the top of the support file list), but that still isn't solving the problem.
How to get AutoCAD to completely forget the old image that is showing on the ribbon and repopulate it with the updated bitmap image?

May 5, 2011I have a box, and inside that box, there is another box. Connecting/joining both boxes are two lines on all four sides of both boxes. What I don't know is how to stretch the outer box (dynamically) from the top right corner, to any size i wish to drag it out to (keeping the inner box in the center at all times, and keeping the lines joining the boxes, connected to both boxes).
I can:
-Dynamically stretch the outer box from the top right corner, keeping the inner box in the center
I can't:
-Keep the lines joining the two boxes connected to the two boxes.
There is a picture attached that shows the box before it is stretched, and a picture of the end result that im looking for. I just need to know how to dynamically stretch the first image to generate the second image.

Jan 29, 2014I've got a dodgy Google Earth screenshot that I've chucked into CAD to scale it (approximately) and more importantly align it to the correct coordinate system as per the survey. However, I need to use that image in another modelling program (which only accepts image files).
Question is - is it possible to export just an image from Autocad back to an image file? I obviously don't want to plot the entire drawing to PDF/BMP or anything, simply extract the image that I have resized. Or any other way of getting an image from Google Maps or the like and scaling it correctly?

Dec 11, 2007I am trying to create some images in PS2 that have to be 3.5 to 4.0 mb. When viewing the Image Size screen, I might see an image size of 9.6 mb. However, when I save the image and run my mouse over the image in Bridge, it shows a size between 2 to 3 mb. I can't figure out why this discrepancy, or what math I need to do in order to figure out how to create the required image size other than by trial and error.

Right now, I'm cheating and combining the PMS diaper onto the grayscale baby in Indesign..... but I really need to have this in Photoshop so I can add shadows to make it more convincing. I tried converting the grayscale to CMYK and deleting all channels but black, didn't work as it took away all the information from the image.
