View 8 RepliesI am attempting to query some mapdata from a NAD27 drawing to a NAD83 drawing and when I do a quick view or a query, Map3D 2012 ( a new installation on Windows 7) crashes. I have the NTV2_0.GSB in the c:ProgramDataAutodeskGeospatial Coordinate SystemCanada directory and have edited the NAD27toNAD83.gdc file accordingly but to no avail.
This setup has been working on my previous Map installations (Map3D 2007 on XP, Map3D 2010 on XP & Map3D 2010 on Windows 7) so I know I have working configuration files.
After creating a series of grid lines. when i try to select any one of them, it automatically shifts the grid line up several feet (in the plan view) and shifts it over to make it an even distance from the next gridline. therefore it is no longer in the correct position (or aligned with the rest of the grid lines). is there a snap setting or something i am missing when i just want to select a grid line without moving it? even with snaps off, it still happens.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter reviewing many similar topics, I am still at a loss here. We are finding that the settings for using shift to deselect items seem to be changing within individual drawing files.
I open 2 drawing files. In one, the shift/deselect works fine, but in the other is does not deselect anything...
Further - within the non-working drawing file, the option to activate 2 hotpoints on a line and then stretch that line no longer works either.
Like everyone dealing with these shift/select/deselect issues, we are wasting an extreme amount of time trying to resolve issues that never seemed to be issues with past versions.
how LR interprets/presents RAW files. I do understand that RAW files are just sensor data, and the preview that is shown by the camera is how the camera software itself is processing the RAW data into a JPG. Also, I understand that different RAW processors interpret this data slightly differently. That said, I like how my raw files look based on how my cameras (60D and Rebel xsi) show them. The exposure, color, and saturation levels are great and based on this look, they would require only a few tweaks. When I upload the RAW files to LR, initially, the files look the same or very similar as they did in my camera's preview. However, when I click on each file in library or develop, the file will initially, for about a second, show up as it originally came over, but LR will then say "loading" and the photo will get much darker and duller. Why is this? As I mentioned, I do understand that different programs interpret a camera's data differently, but it appears that LR is originally "seeing" the photos as I want them to look and then for some reason is interpreting them to be something different; why will the photo not stay as it originally looks when I first upload it? This is requiring more editing on my end. One other thing I have noted is that my RAW files already have adjustments made to them upon upload (exposure, brightness, etc.) I noted another post that addressed this and indicated that there were settings that I would need to reset to correct this. Is this also why the look of my photos is changing, or is that a different reason?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on a very large poster graphic and am coming across some odd issues, at least odd to me. I'm not sure the reasoning behind it, or if there is reasoning behind it? I must be doing something wrong.
I created a ribbon/wave graphic in Photoshop in RGB color mode then converted to CMYK. I then cropped the large (310.875") canvas in to 4 separate images).
I created a new Photoshop file for each canvas to then begin placing different text and graphics on each. The idea was to have the wave behind the images in the forefront of each poster be continuous and flow from one poster to the next. Once done I saved each poster as a tif and then laid them out in inDesign to verify the transition. To my surprise the color for each wave was off or slightly different than the other.
Is it possible in CorelDraw X5 shifting of multiple pages placement at once. For instance if we have a file of 50 pages (1-50) and we require shifting of page nos 41-48 with their contents after page no 8 than how should we proceed to get the resultant.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a user and when he's in sketch mode he trys to draw a line but it keeps on snapping to a grid. Both snap and grid setting are switched off. I can't find any settings he has different from my own set-up so I'm finding it hard to fox this problem. FYI, this user is a bit of a problem and tends to change settings without even realising he's doing it.
He's using Inventor 2012.
When i pick points from the drawing using the ID command i recieve a long and meaningless coordinate which is useless to me when setting out. How i can rotate my drawing so that firstly its aligned with my grid and secondly give it the same coordinates as my site based local coordinated grid?
View 9 Replies View RelatedUnderstanding that composite volumes are typically more accurate, I have a reason to evaluate the volume between two surfaces via a grid volume. Easily created a grid volume surface using a 50' grid (50' is large for this site, but wanted to get a feel for calculation time).
Question: Can you change the grid size without creating a new grid surface? Ultimately I woud like to explore the difference in volumes based on grid sizing without creating a long list of surfaces. One would expect that you could chage the grid spacing in surface properties, but the values are non-editable.

Having a problem with data shorcutiing in a surface created from an ascii file.
I am creating the surface as a grid surface. Itcreates the data shortcut. However when data shortcutting into a new file. Boom! (see above)

Some time ago i used express tools to save my sysvar settings and now when i read the old settings back in, i'm put in 3D parallel project mode. I know this because i have the background color for this mode set to something other than the background color for 2D model space. But now i can't get out of 3d parallel projection mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just ran into a projection issue with a couple of AutoCAD files. There is a possibility that one of the files was originally in Microstation and in meters before it was converted to AutoCAD but I'm still trying to confirm this now. The problem that I am running into is that AutoCAD Map doesn't allow you to xref or attach other CAD files and use different projections. I have one file in Maryland State Plane, Feet and a second one which appears to be in Meters and I can't get them to overlay or for the file in meters to come in at the right location when it is xrefed.

My profile is a separate dwg with plan view xref'd and surface a data shortcut. Of course there are feature lines and Survey Figures in the existing top I want to project into the profile, but can't because it is an xref. Besides copying .
if i have one feature line i want to project to all sections in a sample line group it would seem you should be able to pick the one line and assign in a label style and you would be done quick and easy. instead if you pick the multiple projection option you get this percentage distance box and it tend to grab stuff you don't want.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe use Acad map 3d 2012 & civil 3d 2012. We also use Arcgis10.2 and have not seen this problem until one of our contractors (using map 3d 2013) sent us his drawings. When we bring in the map 2013 drawing Arcgis does not recognize the projection assigned to the drawing and our data ends up thousands of kilometres off in the distance. Am I missing something...it always works fine for 2012 drawings.

I have a steep (3:1) feature line that I need to project at a specific slope (2.5:1)to intersect a surface model. When I create the grading object the generated grading object is not 3:1 along the feature line and 2.5:1 perpendicular to the feature line. Instead I am left with a new slope that is 1.9:1 between the generated contours. I have attempted slope to surface as well as slope for a distance.My design criteria is to not exceed a 2.5:1 tie-in slope.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have drawn a 2D sketch (of a wind turbine) and I found it easier to just rotate the drawings of the blades out of the plane of the drawing to get something that looks like an isometric view. So now some parts of my drawing are in plane, and other parts are turned out of plane by like 35 degrees, so looking at it from the top it looks like an isometric view of the turbine.
However, now I have a task to have the same drawing but with gradient filling in the turbine itself as well as the air and water in the background. The easiest way to do this would be to somehow get a 2D projection drawing of what I see when I look at the plane from the top. (see attached picture)
So what I need is to get what is called "Top View" in the picture with all lines being in-plane from the out-of-plane drawing shown on the right.
I've designed a flat pack chair in model space...now I'd like to print all the various bits of this chair so that I can transfer the measurements easily onto a plywood board (to build the chair from scratch). I don't have a plotter, but my Canon MP610 can print in poster mode where large drawings can be printed onto a grid of several A4's - e.g. 16 sheets of A4's arranged on a grid 4x4 - enough to print the biggest part of the chair scaled 1:1.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI found this image in a textbook and it's supposed to be a three view first angle projection of the boat. It looks like main view is a plan view (top).
What confuses me about this is that the left view, looks like it's of the left side. But only third angle projections order views this way (left view being of the left side, top view being of the top, right view being of the right). So is this picture a first angle projection or a third angle? Or is it all together wrong?

Is there any way to get rid of the projection lines?
the image above is a piping layout with two 45 degrees elbows. i drew the side view, then the the top view
now one of the 45 degrees elbow is replaced by a 90 degrees elbow. i don't how to draw this because the 90 degrees elbow rotate 45 degrees from the horizon.
i am located in Greece and the current progection is GGRS87 .
before the GGRS87 we had a system named HATT with the folowing info:
maps 1/5000 based on the Bessel ellipsoid (1841)
i have many drawings with point coordinates in the old system. is there a way to transform them in the new projection?
what else info is needed for the transformation.
