The "X"'s in the minimize, maximize, close space are missing from drawings and the recovery manager. I have to close Acad and restart to get them to reappear.

I don't see any cross on top of the pan to close it.
The user is running Autocad 2010, and she was able to perform this function last week. Nothing has changed, and a system reboot did not correct the issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBackground: I work IT here at a trophy shop and we do a lot of artwork for plaques and acrylic/glass awards. I am versed in IT but not CorelDraw in-particular.
Problem: One artist tells me that her CorelDraw seems to randomly crash and display "Recovery manager wizard" "Application has become unstable" and after files are saved the application closes out.
When I attempt to close a drawing I get the following message in the command bar. _CLOSE command CLOSE is not available under SDI mode. and the drawing will not close. what SDI mode is and how I can close the drawings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was in Block Editor and when I hit the save changes button it closed my drawing. Now when I open the drawings, the only thing in it is the block, but it is exploded. I can not find any of the information that was in the drawing. The file size is still 1.3 MB. I would have to lose the 3 hours of work I have done and go to a previous version file of the drawings I was in.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHad this installed and working fine for a month or so. Just learning how to use this when today when I went to start it up it would get to the welcome box and just stop. The box was completely blank and the only way to turn the program off was to use the Task Manager to close it down. After reading a few post on similar situations - the advise was to uninstall then reinstall the software. Used the windows uninstaller, afterwards rebooted then tried to re-install.
When I put in the the DVD I get to the screen where I accept the license agreement - scroll to the bottom and check the box to accept - hit next and nothing happens. I checked the services.msc and the Application Experience is started and on automatic.Tried this in the internal and external DVD drive with the same results.
Today, my question is about sheet set manager for civil 3D drawings.When I doing create sheet set, in the 3rd step "Choose Layouts", I browse the folder which is stored my all of drawings into the sheet set manager dialogue window. Due to the bug with it, the objects in it disappear, or the icons for visible and print stop toggling, so I have to close it and reopen it. Tried recording one, but the recorder ignored my closing and opening. Just thought it would be handy, for when it locks up like that to press one button, rather multiple buttons and menus.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a set of Design Drawings on my desk that I need to produce a set of Record Drawings. The Design Drawings are a combination of three original contracts so the file paths for these drawings are scattered thru three project folders. Is there an easy way to create a new Sheet Manager for my Record Drawings. If I open the original Design Drawings and use "Save As" then the drawings being saved to the new Record Drawing Sheet Manager are all tied to the original Design Sheet Manager.
To copy the drawings to the Record folder I will have to open them and relink all xrefs besides having to determine the file path of each drawing to be sure I am copying the correct files to the Record Drawing Folder. Is the easiest solution to use "Save As" and insert a new border with the corrected "Fields' so they are now connected to the Record Drawing Sheet Manager?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've created a new sheet set with some existing drawing files. These files have several layout tabs in each drawing. The Sheet Set Manager (SSM) seems to import the layout tabs in random order, not in the order they appear on the drawing, nor in alphabetical or numerical order. In addition, the SSM imports and numbers all of my drawings in reverse order. Any system variable setting, or some other property setting somewhere that will change this back to ascending order?

Often (maybe 2/3rds of the time?) when I have one drawing maximized inside the Autocad window, the minimize-downsize-close buttons disappear from that drawing's window. The only way to get them back is to cascade the windows.

For some strange reason, if 2 or more drawings are open & I minimize a drawing, it removes the minimize, maximize, close buttons from the right top side of the screen like in the attached picture. To get them back I have to go to the window pulldown & select the drawing from there. I'm using windows 7 pro with a nvidia quadro 1000m card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am missing the icons for the "ON/OFF", "FREEZE", and "LOCK" in the Layer Properties Manager in AutoCAD 2010. Recently upgraded computer to 64-bit and had to re-install 2010. Since then, it takes forever to reload the Properties Manager. Adding new layers, trying to turn layers on/off, freeze layers, etc. causes the Manager to reload. The file I am working with is only 75 kb, tiny in comparison to files I usually work with. My co-worker has a 64-bit and 2010 as well, and her Properties Manager is working just fine. Do I have to reload 2010?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Building design suite premium and I am just getting around to getting it configured. I was trying to open up the detail component manager and have been looking for the default tool palletes for detailing and they are missing. In AEC content the path to the databases are there but I can't find where to access the detail component manager or tool palletes. I can't even find the tool catalog to bring them in that way. It says to look for the detail panel in the ribbon but guess what, I don't have that panel nor do I have the option to show it in the ribbon.
I have also searched for a command line command to open the manager and I couldnt find that either.
I am working in Civil 3D 2011 and cannot call up my sheet set manager. I have used it before but not recently. Here are the things I have tried.
1. Sheetset command in the commanline doesn't produce the palette and shows no error.
2. Opensheetset command in the command line brings up the dialog box to browse to my sheetset. I select it and click open and there is no error but still does not display my sheetset manager.
3. Opened up my cui and made sure the sheet set is added to my work space, visible, and docked and still nothing.
4. Clicked the sheetset palette button on my view ribbon under the Palettes tab.
5. Restarted the computer.
Still haven't gotten the sheetset manager back.
I feel a new install of Windows 7 coming on. It is very strange why the Plot style manager has gone for a walk it may still be about but I can,t find it. Is it loaded with Autocad.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't get the 'manage scene states'-window to pop up. Tried to access it both thru the quad-menu as well as the tools-dropdown.
I've used it in previous versions, where it worked fine -for me.
I have linotype and i often type things in and scroll thru to see what font looks best. However, There are are a lot of fonts that are not available to PS cs5. Some of these fonts have Adobe at the design of their manes. They did not exist previous to me installing PS so i figure these are specifically made by Adobe fonts.
So why are these fonts not available in PS? Do i need a better font manager?
This problem began for me after installing the PSCS6 beta. I started getting a popup saying "Adobe Application Manager is missing or damaged" and advising me to download and reinstall AAM. I did that, with no result. The responses from Adobe ("you must have a bad installer"). I was able to leave the beta as it was and use PSCS5.
Fast forward: PSCS6 is released and I purchase and try to install the upgrade, which won't install with the beta present. The Beta uninstaller won't run because of the AAM error. I laboriously search and delete all files related to the beta.PSCS6 release version installs, but when it starts I get a popup witht the same message about AAM. I have spent over 12 hours in chat with Adobe support with only negative results. Not only have they not fixed the problem -- they have managed to propagate it to my PSCS5 installation -- which they subsequently deleted.
As part of attempting to diagnose I have tried the PSCS6 unistaller, which fails with the same error; used the CS cleaner tool and reinstalled -- same problem; verified permissions and file ssytem on my system drive; tried removing CS6 and reinstalling from a new, clean admin account -- same AAM error.
I am at my wits' end with this. I have NO working verion of photoshop (big problem for a photographer/designer), NO confidence in Adobe support (most of the 12 hours was watching them try the same things we had done several times before), and how to fix this short of stripping my Mac back to the metal and reinstalling everything.
I have a strange problem with my Corel X5 since its re-installation due to a re-installation of my Windows 7 system (A problem of internet connexion) :
Usually, I create drawings, saved in .cdr but also in .emf to be used in Winword 2010. But, now, if I save my drawing in .emf, the drawing is planed down on the right & below sides! I mean, the border is slightly "eaten", missing!
The problem is not Word : if I open the .emf file in Paint, the drawing is already planed down! So, it's Corel fault. But why? It's the same Corel as before, my Windows environement is the same (But may be some parameters disapeared with the re-installation of Windows 7?).
By the way, if I save with .wmf format, the two borders (right & below) are "eaten" but less, the thickness of the disapeared border is very small, but it is!!! So, the result is, now, I can't have any of my drawings created with Corel in Word with their entire integrity, since a part, border at the bottom & border on the right side, is missing!
Occassionally the object properties in my object manager will dissappear and I am unable to bring them back. I have tried toggling all the buttons on the manager, restarting corel, resetting corel to it's default settings and restarting my computer but nothing will bring back the properties. It does not happen on every single file but it happens often enough to be a pain. I have attached a picture of what the object manager looks like.

When i try to copy paste some drawing entities from a heavy drawing file to any other file, the program blocks and says 'not responding', endlessly. So i always have to shutdown the program. I experience the same problem using the designcenter: when I try to copy a layout into another drawing, my computer gets stuck.
Another annoying problem with these files is that they are so heavy, while in fact they shouldn't be. I tried the aectoacad file command. In result the file id half as big, but after I open it and save it, again is the original size.
