AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2014 Will Not Save Drawing?
Aug 1, 2013One of our Dell workstations has recently decided it will no longer save our CAD drawings to the network. Never had this issue before this week, haven't changed anything that we are aware of. No one else is having network issues. We have connected the computer to a different network outlet at another station, that has no effect on the problem.
When you attempt to save, if you watch the command line it will tell you "Cannot save drawing to K/Work Order/Project/drawing name.dwg, saved copy to K/Work Order//Project/(misc letters and numbers).tmp"
It then deletes the original drawing from its location and saves this temp file.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Save 2014 DWG Down To 2010?

Sep 23, 2013I recently installed Inventor 2014. With Inventor 2013, I was able to do a Save Copy As on an IDW file to save it as either a DXF file or AutoCAD DWG file without any issues. In Inventor 2014, doing this produces the following dialog boxes in succession:
No DXF or DWG is produced. I tried doing this to a new, blank drawing from one of the default IDW templates and I get the same result. What can I do to fix this?
AutoCAD 2013 :: 2014 Layer States Won't Save
Dec 5, 2013Running Autocad LT 2014 on Win 7 64bit..I believe the Layer States Manager/Editor is broken...
I created 5 layers and drew 5 lines in model space. Then assigned each line to a different layer. I then created 5 new layer states. When I edit those layer states in the layer state manager, I turned on only one layer for each layer state... When I got out of the layer state manager and select any of these 5 layer states, all layers are on.. Also when I delete layers in the layer states editor, get out of it, then go back into it, all those layers are back again..

Aug 7, 2013I put a new material in the material editor. However long later, I save the max file and when I come back to it, the material editor does not have the material I previously created in there.
The get it back I have to 'eyedrop' the mesh to retrieve it.I've not seen this before in any version, and I use the compact material editor.
Is this another bug with this version, or is this a strange new feature added?
GIMP :: Doesn't Save TIFF Files On EXIF (2014)
Jan 6, 2014it is a lot of time that I noted that if I convert a RAW file from my Canon camera in TIFF and then I post elaborate it with GIMP, I obtain a file without EXIF. No problem whan I convert the RAW file in jpeg.

AutoCAD LT :: Unable To Save Files / Creating TMP Files Instead 2014
Apr 17, 2013I have just recently installed AutoCAD LT 2014 on Windows 7 (Running on an intel iMac through Bootcamp). Ever since then i am receiving notifications when performing a save.
AutoCAD is telling me it cannot perform the save and is creating a .tmp file in the same location on the server as the file should be.
this is causing major performance issues and happens almost every second time I attempt to perform a save. The issue is that we are getting multiple versions of the same file duplicating on the file server which is very quickly going to cause capacity issues considering most files are 2-4mb in size.

Jun 27, 2013I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.

Jun 16, 2011using ACAD LT 2012. If he opens a DWG file from a Sharepoint site, makes some changes to the drawing and then SAVES the file, his changes are NOT saved and there is no indication that they were not saved. Needless to say this is critical.

May 15, 2013I used to be able to open a drawing then close it right away, if it was not the drawing I was looking for, as long as I didn't pan, zoom, or do anything else. Almost a year ago I had a pop-up with-in AutoCAD that they reccommend I make this selection. I can't remember what it said really, it was something about a script or lisp loading at each drawing opening. Well, the result is the 'Drawing 1' does not disappear when I open another drawing and I would like that to stop. Also as I said it does it to every drawing. how to stop this? I tried the 'startup' command and that is not it. It is not a big thing just something I think is a waste of my time having to close that drawing each time I open AutoCAD. Not sure it matters but I am using AutoCAD 2012

- Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit
- ACAD2011 with 1.1
- Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS (not a supported graphic card from what I know)
- Intel i5-750
Since we got that out of the way let's get to it.
A week ago I was told that a lot of times the PC's freeze when you try to "Save", "Save as" or "Open" a file (we open/save on a network drive). If that happens we have to restart the PC and hope it doesn't happen again, but since this happens quite a lot (over the course of four days about 27 times on 7 PC's) I tried to fix this.
I installed the patch, updated the drivers for the graphic card and reinstalled NET Framework 4. The problem didn't occur as often but it still happened sometimes.

Oct 22, 2013I am facing problem while using Save / Save As / Save for web options in my Photoshop. On clicking Save / Save As commands, my photoshop gets closed abruptly and I am losing all data. If I choose Save for Web option, the file Save dialog box appears and when I click on the 'Save' button, the application gets closed abruptly.
It was working fine yesterday. My version is bundled in the Technical Communicator suite 3.5 and I faced some problems with Adobe Acrobat, for which my IT team took support from Adobe and got it resolved just two days ago. (Case ID - 184809966)
AutoCAD LT :: 2014 Crashing After First Run
Oct 28, 2013I am running AutoCad 2013 LT on a Windows 7 O.S. , 32-Bit, 4gb ram,. After I installed Service Pack (2), getting memory error and crash. Tash manager shows a Acbrowserhost.exe--memory consumption thatcontinuously increases. A co-worker can open the same drawing in AutoCad 2011 LT with no issues. Before the Service Pack was installed, I wasn't having any issues.

Jul 27, 2012Why does AutoCAD still have automatic save if it is not going to automatically save your files? I have used AutoCAD for over 20 years and when the introduced automatic saves, I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. But apparently some time between release 2010 and 2012 it was redone or it just don't work. I can recall closing a drawing w/o saving by mistake after having worked on it for 2-3 hours and only loosing at the most 10 minutes of my time. I just did the same thing and lost about 2 hours worth of time and my automatic save was set to every 10 minutes as I have set it since automatic save was introduced.

Sep 17, 2013I isolated 2 layers in a drawing. While working on those 2 layers being isolated, I again isolated one of those 2 leaving 1 layer. I executed the LAYUNISO command which brought back the last layer (that I had isolated after executing my first LAYISO command), but did not unisolate all of the other layers that were isolated during my first LAYISO command. I attempted using the LAYUNISO command again, but it still remains with only those 2 originally isolated layers and I cannot unisolate the other layers. I have also tried the LAYON command. All of the other layers are on and are not frozen.

Nov 18, 2013I'm using C3D 2014. I created a pipe network, exported it to Hydraflow Storm Sewer, perfermed an analysis, and have HGL/flow data. When trying to import the .STM file, nothing happens. Here's what it does:
1) Import .STM into a Blank/New Drawing -> Creates a pipe network with correct IE, Size, and HGL/Flow Data
2) Import .STM into design drawing -> Choose to Update Network -> No change in network (IE, HGL, etc.)
3) Import .STM into design drawing -> Choose to Create a New Network -> Does not create a new network
I've tried closing C3D, and checking, still no change.

I can login with username and password but then de Submit Form keeps refreshing and nothing happens.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: 2014 - Export To SHP File
May 8, 2013I have just updated to Map3D 2014 and work in 2D Drafting Workspace. In 2013, the export button was located in the Map Drafting tab, Map Output panel. In earlier versions it was under output tab as map 3d export. However, its position in 2014 from 2013 has been replace by a "To FDO Connection". it directs me to the older location of under the output tab - map data transfer - map 3d output, however this does not seem to exist. The only panels I have there are Plot and Export to DWF/PDF, no map data transfer. I can find it if I switch to Map Drafting Workspace in the Map Drafting pulldown - inport/export - export, or if I use the command "mapexport", but from both it only asks where and what to name the file and what type (shp, tab, etc), and then the routine stops and goes back to the drawing instead of opening the dialog to select objects, etc. Some of my clients insist on shp files.

Oct 18, 2013Autocad LT 2014 works fine when one dwg is open, but after opening a second dwg autocad becomes 'selectively sluggish'. By 'sluggish' I mean panning and zooming are choppy, and switching between paperspace layouts is painfully slow. By 'selective' I mean that the program is slow only when working on the second drawing; I can toggle over to the first dwg that was opened and normal functionality resumes. These are not big files, there are not underlays or xrefs or crazy hatches/dynamic blocks/etc. It happens when working locally or off of the file server.
The only way I can have two drawings open and work normally is to open two instances of Autocad LT 2014 and have a drawing open in each -- then, I can switch back and forth as usual, with normal speeds.
