I was working in AutoCAD LT and wanted to report on the number of items in a rectangular array, but cannot seem to find such a variable. In the polar and path arrays there is an object count, but don't seem to be able to find the same field for the rect. array. There must be some field for it, because when I shift over to standard AutoCAD I can get the information from the Data Extraction tool.

I'm attempting to use Excel to take data from a drawing and give me purchase and cut lists.
I have successfully pulled the overall measurement from my dwg, and inserted it into a workbook. What I'd like to do now is to have a count of how many times the array function went into effect. For example, attached is a file containing a block called platform. When stretched, it inserts toggles every 2'. When I export the information from my dwg, I'd like for the program to not only extract the length, but how many toggles were inserted for each platform.
i made a simple little chair block , that can be dynamically pulled into theatre seating.
I am trying to get the "Count of Objects" revealed as mtext or an attribute in the block.
It seems that doing area mathematics on the total array size divided by the individual column/row sizes will give me the correct count.
Any recommendations on the "Field" that will work with this?
In Autocad 2013, Is it possible to erase somme items of a rectangular associative array. I have seen that we can replace an object with a different one.

If it were a rectagular dining table of any size how do I array the dining chairs around the table's shape. Alternatively what if I had a large square table and wanted to array 12 chairs with 3 chairs on on each side of the table ????? It seems that if you want to repeat along non-perpendicular axes like this, Inventor fails if there are too many repeats. I came across this when searching the site:

I can verify that this is my exact problem but can add that in my example, 4 repeats on the almost horizontal axis and 3 on the vertical work fine. However, 3 almost horizontal axis repeats by 4 vertical axis repeats will only work if I choose the vertical axis as Direction 2. (Is this a bug or am I trying to use the Rectangular Pattern Tool incorrectly?)
The repeat unit can be simplified to 1 circle with 2 construction lines along the repeat Direction instead of the 2x2 circles shown here but the problem persists. Also
I am looking to design a grate approximately 5mX10m with holes 250mmX32mm. My first thought was to drawing the outline of the 5mX10m grate, then create an array of tiny 32mmX200mm boxes and extrude the material between the boxes and the boundary frame. Unfortunately when I create the simple array (something like 50box by 120 boxes) inventor keeps freezing I'm thinking this is too large of a patter for inventor.
How I can make the grate in a smarter/ less resource intense manner?
I've spent a day and a half coming up with a way to make this dynamic damper block work. Now, I need to fig out how to get every other blade to rotate 90°. I have attached a file with my block and an example of what I need to make it do. I’m running AUTOCAD 2009 LT if you need to know.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use the PATH array feature on 2013 to array stairs, and I can't get the array to be 100% accurate. It seems like CAD rounds the decimal to the nearest 3/4" which could be causing the problem.
I set my run to 10.5" and rise to 7.25", array along the angle of the stringer, and there's always a small overlap on the stairs. The "distance between" should be 1'-209/256" and CAD rounds it to 1'-3/4" which is where I believe the error is. Is there any way to fix this or array this correctly? Otherwise...back to the COPY method I suppose.

With the "DocumentDestroyed" method I can know how many documents are closed and when is the last..
But, I want to know, how many documents are minimized (deactivated).
It´s to say, there aren´t any active (current) document.

I have an iassembly factory that has both both iassemblies generated and checked into the vault.Both com up fine when toggling between both of them on the factory file.
My drawing BOM was looking fine until I added a couple of items to the factory assembly file (items are in all iassemblies). Now I get this "Member Count Error" showing up in certain line items.
I rebuild both iassemblies I can't get the BOM to generate properly. If I toggle to the one iassembly in the factory file the opposite one shows this error message in the BOM.
Is there as easy way to count the points on a divided line? Example....making contour lines and need to interpolate the points between elevations.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am modeling a P&ID piping system. The system has 10 valves of the same exact type. When I generate my parts list I see a valve count of 10 beside the valve callout. Because each valve has a unique tag that relates to its position in the P&ID I need to be able to show each valve with the count of 1 in the parts list. I will add a custom field thta has the valve tag in it. I don't know how to get the parts list to not total the number of each type of valve. In other words I need to show each valve in its own separate field.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI need a way to count furniture blocks that are located in specific ROOMS. More specifically, I'm looking for a way to select MULTIPLE different blocks at once (with a WINDOW selection) and label them a specific room number. I don't want every block with the same properties universally updated (since some will be in other rooms). I also don't want to have to select each block in every room and update its attributes manually (this would both take a long time and things may be re-located over time).
I would like to be able to print a report and compare it to our Microsoft Access database. I know there are other furniture-CAD programs that will do this, but is AutoCAD capable of doing this on its own? I have millions of square feet to check furniture for and this would save me days- if not weeks of time!
I need to quickly obtain a count of all entities on a layer, or preferably multiple layers. In this instance all the entities will be hatches so that should make it a bit easier.
I'm aware I can use quickselect but if there was a routine that would select all hatch entities on screen (multiple layers) and provide a count per layer that would be much quicker.

I had an assembly with iLogic for placing and replacing elements, suppressing parts and edit dimensions of parts in 1 assembly. Sometimes, 1 suppressed pattern must be un-suppressed. Before doing this, I would like to set the pattern count and distances between pattern elements in the pattern. How can I do it by using iLogic?
Lisp routine to count the number of dynamic blocks of a specific name ("FD") by windowing an area of the drawing. I have a routine that I've been using to accomplish this, but i don't understand why it doesn't count dynamic blocks.

I want to get number of circles and their diamters through list in drawing.
Just like as quick select option, it selects all circles and told total quantity. But never tells individual circle diameter and their quantity.
It will be better , if information come as a list. Try lisp if required.
Same like as attribute extraction command, but in that blocks are needed.
I am looking to modify a block count lisp, the lisp counts the blocks and displays them in the command line. I am looking to take that list and insert it in to a leader.
So it will prompt me to select blocks.

This line gets the blocks in the block table...

The attached part, created in Inventor 2012, has a formula for the number of occurances in a sketch pattern based on its length. When this number changes due to a length change, some parts of the sketch do not reposition and Inventor does not indicate that an update is required. The part can be fixed by dragging the affected geometry or performing a rebuild all. The following image shows the result when the length changes from 300 to 500.

Now I want to put them back, if I uncheck the boxes the page numbers don't show up in the border. Neither will if give a page number to the pages that were previously hidden in the browser.

We are trying to relate to the floor how many pieces of HW should go in partiular places.
The balloon with HW count, unfortunately, gives only overall quantity which is less then useful.
I describe my problem in the graphics area attached.
Should be easy, I guess, but, so far, wecould not figure out the best way of dealing with it rather than we are using now.
