View 1 RepliesI had some sheets that I wanted to hide so I clicked exclude from count and exclude from printing.
Now I want to put them back, if I uncheck the boxes the page numbers don't show up in the border. Neither will if give a page number to the pages that were previously hidden in the browser.

Is there any VBA code that can count the number of bends used in a sheet metal part?I would like to make a custom property of this, so it can be exported to Excel for input in our ERP system

maybe need to commit something before running that code? like i think if i let the program finish just do the samplelines and add surface in. and then go in again it will show the section objects can be counted. bug in the com objects by autodesk? so many bugs all over the plac.
'create sample line Dim oSampleline As AeccSampleLine = oSampleLineGroup.SampleLines.AddByStation(oPoint.Name, dStation, txtLeft.Text, txtRight.Text) oSampleLineGroup.SampledSurfaces.AddAllSurfaces(oAeccDb.SectionStyles.Item(0))
For i As Integer = 0 To oSampleLineGroup.SampledSurfaces.Count - 1

I´m using the events "DocumentActivated" and the event "DocumentDestroyed" .
With the "DocumentDestroyed" method I can know how many documents are closed and when is the last..
But, I want to know, how many documents are minimized (deactivated).
It´s to say, there aren´t any active (current) document.

I want to get number of circles and their diamters through list in drawing.
Just like as quick select option, it selects all circles and told total quantity. But never tells individual circle diameter and their quantity.
It will be better , if information come as a list. Try lisp if required.
Same like as attribute extraction command, but in that blocks are needed.
When we insert a Revision Table to a drawing we have the option to update Revision Number property in the drawing. This property is updated whenever we add a Revision Row.
I want Inventor to update the Revision Number property in the model the same way.
If this is not possible, is there a way to automatically map the Revision Number property in the drawing to the Revision Number property in the model?
I'd like to create a numerical animation that counts up to %100 in Edge Animate. Is this possible? I'm brand new to the program.

View 4 Replies View Relatedit's my job to create drawings for patent applications, and These drawings usually consist of multiple pages with one or more drawings on each page. Each of these drawings has to be given it's own unique identifier (for example Fig. 1, Fig.2 etc).
In the process of designing a complete patent application it is often necessary to change the order of figures around and/or add new ones, remove old ones and so on. Now we get to the macro part.
What I need is a macro that identifies an artistic text placeholder (let's say <figures>) and replaces it with a text that says "Fig. x", x being counted upwards starting from 1. In essence I need the macro to count how many times it has already replaced <figures>, and insert the correct number. After the macro has done it's work I want every placeholder replaced with "Fig.1" or "Fig. 2".
I am attempting to reduce the poly count of a 3D model using the Batch ProOptimizer utility. However, the tool uses Predefined 'Vertex' % and not Predefined Polygon %. I need to reduce the polygon count by 60% 40% and 18%. /how this could be achieved?

What I can't figure out is how to get the total number of objects in model space at the start so I can use this info to advance a progress bar. ie the equivilent of VBA's "ThisDrawing.ModelSpace.Count"
Dim bt As BlockTable = tr.GetObject(DB.BlockTableId(), OpenMode.ForRead)
Dim btr As BlockTableRecord = tr.GetObject(bt(BlockTableRecord.ModelSpace),
OpenMode.ForRead)
' Loop for each entity in the modelspace
For Each entId As ObjectId In btr
'<code sniped>

I have an iassembly factory that has both both iassemblies generated and checked into the vault. Both com up fine when toggling between both of them on the factory file.
My drawing BOM was looking fine until I added a couple of items to the factory assembly file (items are in all iassemblies). Now I get this "Member Count Error" showing up in certain line items.
I rebuild both iassemblies I can't get the BOM to generate properly. If I toggle to the one iassembly in the factory file the opposite one shows this error message in the BOM.
I am modeling a P&ID piping system. The system has 10 valves of the same exact type. When I generate my parts list I see a valve count of 10 beside the valve callout. Because each valve has a unique tag that relates to its position in the P&ID I need to be able to show each valve with the count of 1 in the parts list. I will add a custom field thta has the valve tag in it. I don't know how to get the parts list to not total the number of each type of valve. In other words I need to show each valve in its own separate field.

Since I used Autodesk Inventor 2013 last year, I had an question about numbering en renumbering the count of elements in patterns.
I had an assembly with iLogic for placing and replacing elements, suppressing parts and edit dimensions of parts in 1 assembly. Sometimes, 1 suppressed pattern must be un-suppressed. Before doing this, I would like to set the pattern count and distances between pattern elements in the pattern. How can I do it by using iLogic?
The attached part, created in Inventor 2012, has a formula for the number of occurances in a sketch pattern based on its length. When this number changes due to a length change, some parts of the sketch do not reposition and Inventor does not indicate that an update is required. The part can be fixed by dragging the affected geometry or performing a rebuild all. The following image shows the result when the length changes from 300 to 500.

The balloon with HW count, unfortunately, gives only overall quantity which is less then useful.
I describe my problem in the graphics area attached.
Should be easy, I guess, but, so far, wecould not figure out the best way of dealing with it rather than we are using now.
Am trying to convert this pump into solid ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy problem today is that I made a Model of a Part of a ship using surfaces rather than solids because the engineer thought it would be easier to bring into ANSYS program for analysis but he is now having a problem with it and I am looking into converting my current model to solid. I can do it but the method I thought of using is quite long winded and we are working to a tight deadline.
1.open up the surface part
2.use "Offset/Thicken"
3.any clashes between parts make a sketch and cut away.
the problem is the amount of plates I have and the time it takes to sort them out.
How to get surfaces in a dwg to display correctly in inventor 2012? (just upgraded after SP1) I keep getting random results. I have a seat from our supplier translated from solid works brought in as a composite (converted in inventor 2011). I have assigned colors to faces and in the part/assembly environment it is fine, as soon as it is in a DWG it goes randomly transparent! Some times it is completely see through and others you get an odd face displaying correctly! Even in different views on the same sheet different faces appear normal.
Attached jpegs are: surfaces in dwg and surfaces in an assembly.

After you create a drawing view, surfaces can be included or excluded from drawing views. Files that contain only surfaces automatically include the surfaces in a drawing view. Is there a way to disable this functionality?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWorking on a part and after much extruding and intersecting ended up with pretty much what I was after, but there are all these surfaces that don't seem to clean up by boolean operation of the solids. Will this cause a problem when I go to manufacture from STL file ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to revolve a sketch between two surfaces in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012. The problem is that the extrusion is being created on the opposite side of the two surfaces that I want.
For example, I have two flanges on a cylinder. I would like the feature to be created to stretch on the lower side, the larger angle, where the sketch is. Instead, it is creating the feature on the upper side, the smaller angle.
I have adjusted everything I can within the revolve feature options, including unchecking "minimum solution" and switching the starting and terminating faces.
In the attached file I am attempting to revolve "Sketch 7" about the x-axis, between the two flanges closest to the "top." The sketch is centered on where I want the revolved feature to be created.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using 2013 and my construction surfaces keep displaying in my drawing views. They are hidden at part and assembly level and include surfaces is greyed out but they show as visible in the feature tree in the idw, and in the views.
Is there a setting somewhere to stop this. This is from IDW. They should not be visible.
I have successfully opened a STEP file from our Engineering group and saved it away as an Inventor Assembly. I would like to define Materials and/or Surface finishes for all parts. Why wouldn't the Surfaces and Materials synchronize between the Styudio's Surface Creator and the BOM Materials Control in the Assembly area?
I have found the way to define a new Surface in the "Inventor Studio" Interface and saved it with a unique name. Now, I would like to assign that Surface as a Material to the parts in the assembly ... and of course I would like to define numerous other surfaces and materials for assignment to all the parts throughout the assembly. Finally, I would like these surfaces / materials to follow the model into Showcase for presentation purposes.
I have placed the views but whenever I want to include all surfaces from the history tree they appear for 1 second and then they disappear.

The floor of the plant is split into different faces to denote walkways etc.
When i saw they were missing from the drawing i thought it could be because i haven't 'included surfaces'.
I clicked on include surfaces on the model and it worked!
However, when the green arrow update finishes, they disappear, and the include all surfaces box is unticked! i didn't untick it, so what did?
