AutoCAD LT :: Published PDF Not Seen Across Network
Feb 6, 2013If i plot something with DWG to PDF the PDF file is normal, but if i publish using the same thing, the file is somehow locked.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Default Pipe Network Layer (Not The Structures Or Pipes The Network)
Dec 7, 2012I am using Civil 3D 2013. I work in an office where we have a few different flavors of Autocad (LT, MEP, regular vanilla AutoCAD etc...) and versions (2010 LT, 2011, 2012, 2013).
For the most part there isn't much inter-office drawing coordinate that has to happen, but there is the occasional project where multiple disciplines (Structural, Mechanical and Civil Site) have to share drawings.
The specific problem I am having is when I share my 2013 Civil 3D drawing with a user using 2011 MEP. He gets the typical rectangle for the proxy objects (in my case, my pipe networks for sanitary and storm drain). We've tried downloading and installing various object enablers, but there doesn't seem to be one for a 2013 to 2011 scenario. So I setup my parts to be on layers that he can just turn off. HOWEVER... the actual pipe network (not the structures, parts, labels etc... the network itself) ends up on layer 0. For this specific project, I do the old (ssget "x" '((8 . "0")) search to select all objects on layer 0, add those objects to a selection set (pselect), then in my modify objects dialog I filter for pipe networks, then change the layer to something other then 0.
While this is a workaround that works for me, what I really want to know is if there is a way that I can change the default layer that the network (again, not pipes, structures or text, the actual network) so I don't have to use the workaround. Any thoughts?
P.S. It's killing me that I had to create a new Autodesk login and now all my AutoCAD "street cred" is lost

AutoCad :: Drawings Lose Extents If Published?
May 14, 2013Using Full Autocad 2013, no extensions.I have a directory full of 25 drawings, P&ID's to be exact. I've done all the drafting on them, and I need to publish the set. I used to publish them 24x36 to our plotter, but we have started sending out large plot jobs, so I need to publish to PDF. This normally isn't a problem at all. I set up the first drawing's layout tab to print. Everything is good. Preview it, all is good.
I open the publish box, add all the drawings layouts, use the page setup from the first drawings layout, select publish to PDF, set them to go to my normal folder, and publish. The drawings all publish, and everything is correct except that they all, instead of centering on the page, they center horizontally but go to the bottom of the sheet vertically. So I have a two inch margin on the top of the drawing and .5 inch or so on the bottom. I'm assuming this means that the publish can't find the drawing extents (we use plot to extents, center plot). So I go into all the drawings, zoom extents in all the layouts, and still it publishes the same.
Is there a variable I'm missing? If I plot just one it works and the plot is dead center of the page, publish more than one and it doesn't work.
AutoCAD Inventor :: IPart Features Disappear When Published
Oct 16, 2013The attached IPart works wonderfully for all sizes, shows no errors or recovery alerts.
The problem is that once it is published, the ORB end changes for any size 1/2" (8) or under.
It just turns into a Hex head, I don't understand what the problem is.

AutoCAD Inventor :: CC Published Parts - (VARIES) In Columns?
Nov 4, 2011I noticed on my parts list that I had an item that was listed as *Varies* in the description, and part # columns I have set. Seen it before, so I went to my BOM and saw that it's a part that I've published to the CC.
Thought, OK, go and replace the 12 parts that I needed to. Tried the "Replace All" and it still came up on my BOM as *Varies*.
Went through and replaced each part in the assembly one at a time. Still shows up in BOM as *Varies*.
I thought that when I publish parts to the CC, they become Read-Only, and I can't edit any of the iProperties or the part itself.
In the attached BMP, I've cut out the offending row in my BOM. All the columns are greyed out to where I can't edit anything, as designed...
Why would these published parts come up as *Varies* in 2 of my columns if the values I've set when I published them would never change??

I have a part that I have published. There are some parameters that Ii would like to have available to the Parts List upon creation. I don't see a way to do this after the part has been published. I have been able to select the parameters for export before publishing and they will be marked for export when the part is placed form the content Center.2010 Suite-SP4 64bit

Jan 28, 2013I can publish a part containing a user text parameter to the content centre for use in frame generator however when I go to insert that part an error as per the attached screen shot.
To re-create the error you have to follow the below steps.

Mar 30, 2009If I open a drawing created in 2009 and try to publish it in 2010, DSD file message pops saying about unsaved changes (see attached). Since I don't use sheet sets, I do not have any use for DSD file. Is there a way to disable it?
In 2009 it was simple not to include model tab while publishing. Where is this option in 2010? I don't want to remove model tab from the list every time I publish drawings.
Lightroom :: No Published Folder Available?
Sep 17, 2012I want to publish foto's to my iPad. In Lightroom 3, there is no problem. In Lightroom 4 I only have the choice between "Create published Smart Folder" or "Create a set of folders". The possibility "Create Published folder" is not available. I work on a Mac.

Jul 2, 2013I recently upgraded from LR4 to 5. When I opened LR5 it asked to convert my LR4 catalog. That all went well, I thought. Once completed, I created my Flickr published services connector. How do I now tell LR5 that I have previously published photos to Flickr in LR4 so that I do not have to republish those 1000+ photos? If I were to do that, then I'm afraid all comments will be lost, etc.

So, I change the publishing service to a custom name, mark the images to republish again, and try once more. Still, the old names are there.

Feb 16, 2014If I right-click on a published collection there is a command "Edit Published Collection". In the dialog box that comes up it seems the only thing I can do is rename but there is already a rename in the right-click menu. Hitting EDIT in the dialog seems to do NOTHING. Mar 28, 2013I'm running Lightroom 4.3, and have set up a publishing service to my revel account. Starting yesterday, I'm having a problem with creating new smart published collections to publish to my revel account. After I enter the filter criteria for the collection and hit "create" I get a "An error occurred while attempting to create a new album." message. I've tried authorizing and reauthorizing my account without any success. I had no problems the last time I created a collection last week, so I'm wondering if it's a server type issue rather than something on my side.

Jul 9, 2012When setting a URL link to selected text in a text object, the link style (blue w/ underline) is not preserved after save, close & reopening. The url is still set if you select the same text.The biggest issue is when publishing to PDF, those links do not get published as it did in previous versions of CorelDRAW. This breaks thousands of our documents when publishing to pdf since we have upgraded from X3 to X6. This is a show stopper for us using X6.

Nov 24, 2012I have a set of Categories with Collections published at Smugmug. I am trying to map each Category and Collection in Smugmug to a similar Published Smart Collection in Revel using the rules so that when I add a photo into one of my collections in Smugmug it will populate to similar Revel Smart Collection.
In Smugmug I have a category "Portfolio" with a collection "Dogs". There are 75 photos in this collection.
I create a Revel Publish service for a library "Portfolio".
Now I go to the left sidebar and for this Revel service, I create a new Published Smart Collection. I title it "Dogs". I set the rule to Publish Collection starts with Dogs. The result is over 400 photos selected.
What appears to happen is that any Published Collection with the word Dogs in it is being used, even though the name of the published collection is for example "Our Dogs" or "Example Dogs".
The rule "Starts with" does not seem to work.
AutoCad :: Plotter On A Network?
Dec 28, 2011using a plotter on a network. I moved all my plot styles to a folder on the network where everyone can use them and pointed the path on each station. My only problem now is that each station seems to have the drivers ect.. for the plotter on stand alone stations. What happens if I open a dwg on my station and then close it and go to another station I get warning that drivers are not found,the device can not be found. Do I need to copy the driver and device folders to the network and have the settings on each PC point to that folder.

Apr 5, 2013In our company we have a Tool Palette guru. She has READ/WRITE privileges to a Tool Palettes Development folder on our network. When she has an update to share with the masses, a network admin goes into the Tool Palettes Development folder and moves the corresponding files and folders to Tool Palettes folder where all CAD users have only READ access. All users point to the Tool Palettes folder on the network as well as a folder on tehor local machine so they can create their own custom Tool Palettes.
We have several users that have to reload their Tool Palettes every time they login to their workstation. Also, whenever a user logins to a different workstation, the Tool Palettes images have to be reloaded manually.I'm thinking there has to be a way so that
1) once the Tool Palettes are loaded for a user they don't have to be reloaded and
2) we don;t have to reload the Tool Palettes images when a user changes workstations.
