View 2 RepliesHow come when I publish to plotter the layouts in a dwg in 2014 they stay in perpetual publish status and don't plot, but open same dwg in 2013, publish and almost by the time I get to the printer, all 7 layouts have printed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI work for a distribution company that sells 15+ product lines. For almost every product, they have a photograph. I was asked to set up a system whereby a number of sales representatives could access these photographs in an organized fashion from their own computers. This is how I have set things up: A media computer (backed up onto an external hard drive) has all the raw files. In lightroom I have set up two publish services to hard drive. The export location for these two publish services was an external drive that was accessible throughout the company network. Unfortunately, while I was gone, the external drive was changed over to a cloud-based system. As such, the export location for my publish services no longer exists.
Of course, I could go and re-create the publish services, but unfortunately that would be an incredibly laborious process because each publish service has 10 or so sets with 2-4 levels of folders amounting to several hundred folders that would need to be re-created. Moreover, because of the complexity of the system, I made them all smart-folders with specified attributes, etc. So re-creating all these folders would take a whole lot of time.
So, I was wondering if there is any lightroom wiz out there who knows a work-around for my issue.
Now, I did do some digging already and I came across this article: [URL] which outlines a method for changing the export location! However, as far as I can tell, I would still have to change the export location of each folder manually, which would basically be just as complex and confusing as recreating the publish service anyways. Am I correct in this thinking, or using this method is there a "root" folder than I can change, which will change every other folder?
I want to publish foto's to my iPad. In Lightroom 3, there is no problem. In Lightroom 4 I only have the choice between "Create published Smart Folder" or "Create a set of folders". The possibility "Create Published folder" is not available. I work on a Mac.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from LR4 to 5. When I opened LR5 it asked to convert my LR4 catalog. That all went well, I thought. Once completed, I created my Flickr published services connector. How do I now tell LR5 that I have previously published photos to Flickr in LR4 so that I do not have to republish those 1000+ photos? If I were to do that, then I'm afraid all comments will be lost, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI alreayd published to HDD a series of five images. I then rename the images, and mark the images to republish. But when they're published again, the old names are there. So, I change the publishing service to a custom name, mark the images to republish again, and try once more. Still, the old names are there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded to Lightroom 5. Now when I publish photos, those photos are the originals, without any of the edits that were made in Develop (such as crop, color, etc.). The tags are being published and updated, but that's all. This is happening for both publish to hard drive as well as online services.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a published folder with about 400 photos in LR4 that I would like to bring over to LR5. How is this done?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIf I right-click on a published collection there is a command "Edit Published Collection". In the dialog box that comes up it seems the only thing I can do is rename but there is already a rename in the right-click menu. Hitting EDIT in the dialog seems to do NOTHING. What am I missing on the use of this command. There doesn't seem to be any info on this in a Google search.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just published my first book on Blurb. Looks great but all the pages are offset by one in Blurb when compared to my LR original. So all the pages that are on the left in Lightroom are on the right in the Blurb version. I can easily add another page and re-publish but it un-nerves me when things are inconsistent.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running Lightroom 4.3, and have set up a publishing service to my revel account. Starting yesterday, I'm having a problem with creating new smart published collections to publish to my revel account. After I enter the filter criteria for the collection and hit "create" I get a "An error occurred while attempting to create a new album." message. I've tried authorizing and reauthorizing my account without any success. I had no problems the last time I created a collection last week, so I'm wondering if it's a server type issue rather than something on my side.

I dont know what changed this,
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a set of Categories with Collections published at Smugmug. I am trying to map each Category and Collection in Smugmug to a similar Published Smart Collection in Revel using the rules so that when I add a photo into one of my collections in Smugmug it will populate to similar Revel Smart Collection.
In Smugmug I have a category "Portfolio" with a collection "Dogs". There are 75 photos in this collection.
I create a Revel Publish service for a library "Portfolio".
Now I go to the left sidebar and for this Revel service, I create a new Published Smart Collection. I title it "Dogs". I set the rule to Publish Collection starts with Dogs. The result is over 400 photos selected.
What appears to happen is that any Published Collection with the word Dogs in it is being used, even though the name of the published collection is for example "Our Dogs" or "Example Dogs".
The rule "Starts with" does not seem to work.
I'm using LR 4.3 on a Win 7 64 bit PC. I notice that many of my photo's show "Metadata Status has been changed" but when I try to synchronize the folder(s) the message does not change. However, when I click the icon next to the message it will update that one photo. How can I update ALL photo's so they have the current and correct metadata without going one photo at a time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWith my dng files, when saving metadata to file (ctrl + S), after a moment the status of the file is become again as if I had not save the metadata. I used an old trick for this bug : saving metadata, then importing metadata from file, then it is durably ok.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using LR for adjusting photos for about 6-8 years now, but have just recently gotten time to start better organizing my stuff. I have about 40,000 images that mostly have keywords and descriptive file names, but are generally without ratings, color labels and are mostly not in collections. I must admit that there's a lot of junk in there (duplicates, mostly) that I have to purge. I can probably work it down to 10,000 images. In addition to putting ratings and labels on things, I want to sort them into collections, but that task would be easier if I knew which images were NOT in collections so I could concentrate on them and work that set down. I don't see a way to set up smart collections to show images that are not in a collection. It appears that the smart collection criteria can be selected from whatever text selection criteria are available, and I don't see inclusion in a collection as one of them. I also don't see collection status as one of the metadata items that could be used to filter things.
In a previous thread from 2007 I found the following workaround:
Clear the quick collection and set it to the target collection. In the library view, select all the collections. Select all the photos.Go to the catalog and view all photos. In the Edit menu, click on "invert selection".That selects all the images not in a collection. Pressing B puts them in the quick collection.
The only problem with this is that when you select an image from the quick collection and place it in a collection the image remains in the quick collection. In a smart collection filtered by collection status (not in a collection) it would disappear from the smart collection when it goes into a collection. So it would be much nicer if there were a way to filter for "not in a collection" for a smart collection or even in a metadata filter.
The above workaround does work, but you will have to refresh the quick collection whenever you lose track of which images you have placed into a collection.
Of course, the best solution would be not to get into my position in the first place. Always dump the junk out of the catalog and place all the keepers in appropriate collections.
LR 4.1 in Windows 7 64.
I have setup smart collection to show all images that need to be saved to disk - "Metadata status has been changed". I did the update in smart collection and also in Library folder. On the disk xmp-file seems to be changed but in LR Metadata status is still "Has been changed". The files are CR2-files.After command status was one second "Up to date" but changed very soon "Has been changed". Metada Date was changed OK. Same happend with tif-files but not with jpg-files. All changes are in the sidecar file.
Is there a way to change the Copyright Status from "Unknown" to "Copyright" on a group of images without having to change them individually in LR 5?

NOTE: I have this problem especialy when I used AUtoCAD from home. to use AutoCAD from home I made borrow licence.
Using AutoCAD 2013, myself and several other coworkers have encountered an error message when creating a pdf with the publish command. I attached a screen shot of it.
We never experienced this in earlier versions. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it has been recurring more in the past month. I have restarted the computer after receiving the message and then invoked the publish command after restart and it was successful. I'm not going to do this every time I publish, nor do I see the need to turn off background plotting. That just seems like a bandaid fix.
I even tried publishing with different page setups to determine if it would react differently to any page setup, but it doesn't. I attached a view of my publish window, as well.
The issue we have all been experiencing with LR 4 RC2 seems to still be in the release of 4.1
When I try to publish a photo to my flickr photostream I get the following error:
Can't update this collection. And internal error has occurred: A semi colon character was expected.
I find this to be ridiculous. We let the powers that be know of this issue and still nothing seems to have been done. I guess I have to return to the RC1 release just to get my photos uploaded and retain my usability with comments?
when I try to setup and authorize Flickr it ask me to signin to my acct. I sign in then it asks me to allow Flickr to authorize and I say yes then it brings up a blank browser window and nothing happens so I can not get past the authorize section of the publish dialog box
View 8 Replies View RelatedNow that the Revel publishing service is built into Lightroom 4.1, what is happening when I publish a large take of raw files? Does Lightroom first render jpgs, upload the jpgs to Revel and then snyc those back to lightrooms raw files? I don't want addition jpgs in my lightroom catalog, but im ok with having jpg versions of the raw file on Revel.
I would actually like to do this for my entire raw archive. Storing that many fullsize jpgs online for $5.99 a month isnt that bad.
Ability to upload any videos to Facebook via Lightroom's publish?
I go to the Lightroom Publishing Manager, and in the middle it says, "Videos will not be uploaded into this album. Facebook organizes them under "My Videos". OK, but it doesn't have an option for selecting that album.
