Is Smoke capable of doing 3xHD projects?
I am trying to append GPS data to my photo's using a track log which I have converted from KLM to GPX. The information loads onto the map just fine, but after selecting the option 'Auto-tag xxx selected photos' the process bar does appear in the top-left corner, but never progresses.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCanon 5d3with a fast CF card. I plug the camera into my Windows 7 laptop, fire up Lightroom 4.2, hit import, and all the new photos are tagged for import. I press import and 4 or 5 photos import and Lightroom just hangs without importing any others. The program shows as still responding in the Task Manager. I close the program, detach and reattach the camera and get another 4 or 5 photos. So if I have a bust day of shooting I have to go throgu this process many times to get of my photos imported.
View 4 Replies View RelatedImporting from SD card or from folder on hard drive, LR 1.4.1 hangs on import into an existing catalog. Sometimes it imports 1 picture, sometimes more, and then it hangs. Canceling the import does not work.
This is a Vista machine with plenty of horsepower and disk. I've re-installed LR, rebooted, etc. Importing into a brand new catalog works perfectly. Importing into another application works perfectly. The problem arose seemingly out of nowhere. Never had a problem, went out of town for a few days, returned with some pictures, and then no import into my existing catalog.
Ever since my copy of Lightroom updated from 4.3 to 4.4 I've had TERRIBLE trouble importing RAW files. After pressing "IMPORT" the program will hang (showing as "Not Responding" in the Window Top-bar and in Task Manager) for 90 minutes or more. This is to import just 4 or 5 files. I'm running on: Intel Core I5-2500k, 3.30Ghz, 16GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit...I never had this trouble with 4.3 and no other features of my set-up have changed except my Lightroom version.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with Lightroom 4.4 and importing photos from an external hard drive. I've worked with this configuration for years with no problem. I've been working with 4.4 since it was released as an RC, no issues. It started to be very slow to move into the import modual/function. Then it would hang every time and no sources for import would come up and the program would just stop and I'd get the "not responding" message. I thought it might be a corrupt catalog so I tried one of my backup catalogs, I tried different catalogs all together. I deleted the preference file and that seemed to be the beginning of the end for my current installation. When I tried to open Lightroom (via the catalog file) after deleteting the preference file it was like Lightroom couldn't/wouldn't rewrite the file and open. It would hang. Eventually I did get it to open up but I had to walk away and let it work on opening for a good 10 minutes. It finally came up but was too slow to work with. I gave up and decided to uninstall it and download and install again. It is still wonky and slow and will not import photos at all. I know it is difficult to diagnose something like this but I'm at my wits end. I've used Lightroom since the very beginning and I've come to be quite dependant on it. I just don't even know where to look to figure this out. I've browsed around for import problems but haven't found a whole lot of information or examples. Oh I should mention I tried creating a new empty catalog on my internal hard drive in case the problem somehow was with the external drive but that isn't the case. Actually I have catalogs on a few different external drives. It doesn't matter where the photos are, Lightroom is not happy at the moment. It barely responds to any input and crashes if I try to import photos. I also uninstalled and disabled my Carbonite because I know that can cause problems with some programs and I am desperate to get Lightroom going again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince installing Lightroom 5, the program hangs during the import process. I never had this issue with Lightroom 4, but recently had a system crash and lost my former catalog. There are about 140,000 images to be imported from a 3TB hard drive.

On Publish Services - I am able to publish to a remote desktop but not to my own network. I have also been seeing issues with publishing to SmugMug (since before they updated their site).
Similarly, I am trying to merge some catalogs and when I import from another catalog, the process seems to hang about halfway through (I left it running all night long - the catalog is large but not THAT large!). The process did bring in what seems like most files so I wonder what I am missing.
i have problem with vba sendcommand method, which i use to send publish command. vba code doesn't wait to finish this command, but continues. i need to wait for finish publishing and then continue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR4 with a Canon camera setup (Wind 7 Ultimate). I've got the auto import setting all configured with an incoming folder and destination. The app recognizes when an image is put in incoming folder and in fact it moves it to the destination folder. What is really annoying is that it leaves me at the import settings dialog and then I have to make all these choices as I would if I were manually importing.
Shouldn't the images be places in the desination folder and some view of that image be displayed in LR? It could be the folder view or ideally I want to see the last image imported at 1:1 size so I can review it and see if I want to take another shot? Maybe there is some flag I've got set incorrectly.
I have recently upgraded to a new computer with windows 8 preinstalled. When i tried to import jpg with lightroom today i discovered this problem; The thumbnails shows as usual, but when I click the import button, it runs through the files and tells me that non where imported because the file could not be read. I have tried both with a card reader, and directly from the camera. No luck. I works fine when I try to copy in windows explorer.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've used Lightroom 5.2 RC for a few weeks and successfully imported a few times. This morning, however, the dialog will not come up and the program hangs until I kill it in Task Manager. This is in Windows 8 64-bit.
I've tried removing the memory card, and all other USB-connected devices, but it still hangs. I'm a developer and can supply crash dumps if necessary.
I've been using Lightroom 4 since just a few weeks after it came out and been happy with it. My Canon T3i was new to Raw, but I haven't had any issues importing and images looked as I expected the output to be before editing. I have a preset of my standard settings that I apply during import.
I upgraded to 4.2 this week and I took some light painting shots and when I imported 40+ RAW images, I watched one that I really liked in the preview change from what I expected, to a much darker and overly blue image. I thought at first this was due to my preset so I zereoed out the image but it still didn't look the same as the RAW outside of Lightroom. I deleted the picture from the library and added it again and saw before importing it was lighter and had the colors I expected and after importing it changed to overly blue with really bright spots in it.
I uploaded the RAW converted to JPG using Windows Live Gallery, which shows it as the camera preview showed it, and again after letting lightroom export to a JPG with no image adjustements that I know of URL....
Other pictures from this same shoot but of a green light look as I expect.I do have a Spyder 3 for monitor calibration in case there might be a profile issue.I imported the JPG I created outside of Lightroom and it looks better. If I drag the Black slider to -100 I get a similar look to what Lightroom did when I imported the RAW, although the slider then it positioned at 0.
I installed LR on my computer, win 7, and upgrade version 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 (with all updates) but i can't import pictures, they will be on the libary but i can't see them. if i use only LR 1, no problem, it starts when i installed LR 2!? but if i import a picture this will be shown in the libary but it is not dispayed( can't see the picture, only the place where this must be seen) I did use all the updates, but still no progress? how to handle so i can work my LR 3.6 ( before I upgrade to 4.0)
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs I've been adding photos to my catalog from my iMac's internal hard drive, I've asked LR 5 to import them while "MOVING" them. Not "Copy as DNG", but MOVE. The Move feature simply makes a copy of them and leaves the files still on my hard drive. Why? This didn't happen in earlier LR editions.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLR 5.2 was working beautifully, but after shooting a couple videos (.MOV) in addition to normal images (.JPG & .CR2) my LR 5.2 started playing up when I wanted to import the content of my SD card onto my PC.
LR 5.2 (on Win7, 64-bit) stopped displaying ANY images or movies in the import window. It doesn't matter whether the images (+/- movies) are on the SD card (from which I usually directly import), or any folder on my PC that contains images. LR 5.2 however has no problem displaying the images on my PC in the library window (as they have been imported into the catalog before the problem occurred).
I'm now stuck with hundreds of photos on my SD card that I can't seem to be able to import...
I am using lightroom 4 and 5 on a Mac. Although preview of photos to be imported is shown I only get the message that the import could not be carried out (1) and the option to save the data as a :txt file. This was with Lightroom 4. It started first with being unabel to import directly from the camera, then I swithched to inserting the SD card directly into the laptop. This worked only after first downloading to the desktop. Later this didn't work either. I thought the program had become defect. Preview still worked and export is fine. I therefore updated to Lightroom 5 in the hope that this would solve the problem. However everything remains the same. Import still doesn't work with photos of any format. e.g. jpg or RAW.

On my PC everything is OK. What can I do about it?
I have LR 3.6 and have created a catalog of pictures from a ski trip I took last year. All of these pictures and the LR catalog are in one folder on my hard drive. After sorting, deleting and retouching quite a few pictures I now notice that one picture is missing from the library. If I open the folder in Explorer (Win 7) I can see the picture, and Windows Picture & Fax Viewer will open/display this picture so it appears the file itself is fine.
However, I cannot get this picture into the library for some reason. When I choose File>Import Photos this one picture doesn't show up in the list of photos. It's as if Lightroom can't see this picture for some reason.
Oh, and I don't know if it matters, but there is a movie clip with the same filename but a different extension (obviously) that does show up in the library and the import dialogue. The picture filename is DSC_0001.jpg, the movie filename is DSC_0001.mov.
I tried to import my PSE10 catalog into LR4 on a Mac (lion). It only imported 92 photos out of the 12000. it says: Some Photoshop Elements photos were not included in the Lightroom catalog. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I import pictures from my SD Card I usually leave copies on the card for a while so I have them as backup, and to also be able to see recent pics on my camera. However each time I go to import pictures from that card within LR, it defaults to selecting all pics on my SD card even though I have the "New Photos" filter selected at the top of the import box. It always puts all my photos in the "New Photos" section, so I have to deselect all the photos that I have already imported into my catalogue so I don't get duplicates. How do I get LR to only import pics that haven't been imported bfore?
I am aware of the "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" option, but that is not the samea as what I am looking for. It only deselects photos that still exist in my catalogue. Any photos that I have deleted from my catalogue remain selected in the import box as it doesn't see any duplicates.
what I'm missing to have LR only select photos that haven't been previously imported from that card?
I work on a Windows 7 machine. I have Creative Cloud. I am trying to import an aaf that my editors have sent me. They first sent me an .aaf with "AAF edit protocol" checked and all the media imbedded in the file. It gave me a Generic Error after trying to import.
I had them re-export the .aaf this time with links to the media as instructed on all the info I could find online. On import into Premiere, it begins to import and then just hangs. It just sits there. If I click Cancel or the 'x' in the upper right of the window, then Premiere stops responding and I have to shut it down using Windows Task Manager.
