AutoCAD 2010 :: Base Line Spacing Operational

Nov 26, 2012

I normally use AutoCAD Electrical 2012 but my problem is AutoCAD so I thought I would log it here.In ACE there are default profiles for ACE and Vanilla AC.  I use the Vanilla AC for basic CAD drawings.

I like the feature "Base Line Spacing" for dimensions, to state the obvious,BUT  it I do some vertical dims then try to do some horizontal dims  (both in base line spacing) the software wants to stay in vertical BSL.

I can find is to create a standard DIM, delete it, then i can do a selection of horizontal BSL.Is this how it works in AC2012?  Or is it a function of ACE?  There are some other functions in ACE that do not work in standard CAD under the CAD profile.

How do we get AutoCAD to draw from the BASE coordinate? Is there a new switch that's messing this up?

Corel PHOTO-PAINT X6 :: Cursor Not Aligning When Drawing A Line?

Dec 23, 2013

I had Corel Photo Paint v.9, have used it for years in addition to DRAW, but recently my computer died and I had to replace it.  I installed it on the new machine, which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but the line tool suddenly started acting nuts.  I would move the cursor to where I wanted to start the line and start the line with a mouse click.  The line would then dart half-way down the screen and would be nowhere near the cursor's cross hairs making it difficult to work on images.

So, I figured it was a compatibility issue so I bought Corel Technical Suite X6 and have installed it.  The line tool does exactly the same thing.  The position of the line is nowhere near the crosshairs of the cursor.  Is this a new "feature" or is this a bug?  If the former, how can I get it to work like I am accustomed to working (I have used DRAW and Photopaint since the mid 1990's, using version 5.0).  If the latter, how can I fix it?

Here's the situation. I have a block that will be inserted showing a piece of angle iron that is used for a stiffener. We have various sizes that will need to be used. AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Aligning Different Subassemblies At Intersection?

Jul 23, 2013

issue with my Corridor.  It involves the intersection of a main road alignment and a secondary road. Thing is my main road has a 6' shoulder whereas my secondary road doesn't have a shoulder at all. I used the Intersection Wizard to create the Intersection, but the two templates don't align. Without the shoulder the ditches don't line up. I tried drawing a polyline between the two ditches and targeting it and that worked, but then realized that going from 6' shoulder to no shoulder wasn't working either so when I tried to target a polyline from the 6' shoulder to the edge of pavement all kind of stuff happened that didn't make sense to me.

I solved it in the drawing mode( I set them straight  so I can do engineering drawings), but I am wondering if there is a possibility to set any object in assembly mode horizontally vertically so in the drawing mode it will not show incorrectly after adding them. Also I made a drawing file for Auto Cad mechanical and parts are also set tilted.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Aligning Blocks To A Curve

Aug 21, 2013

Is it possible to create a block that conforms to a curve in AutoCAD 2013?

In this case I want to have 3 lines that will intersect an existing line at 1 meter intervals - which is simple for straight lines, but when the existing line is curved my current block setup just isn't cutting the mustard.

The only thing I'm trying to achieve is to have a block that will place these lines at 1metre gaps (with the distance measured along the line I'm placing it on, and not the shortest distance).

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Inserting And Aligning Live Map To Drawing?

Sep 16, 2013

i am trying to attach a live map to the c3d2014.

first i set the projection and then it asks me  insertion point.

1)why the map do not come in at the correct location and c3d needs me to specify the incertion point?

2)then it asks the rotation. i thought that all maps are pointing at north. but if i set it at 90 degrees pointing straight to the north a get a litle rotation that becomes very noticeable as i move far from the incertion point.

if the 90degrees is wrong, how can i find the correct rotation to give the c3d?

3) ok. that map is incerted. can i pan , move it ?rotate it ? how ?

AutoCAD Architecture :: Multiline Attributes Not Aligning Properly?

Mar 14, 2011

Using AutoCAD Architecture 2009. I recently updated my office's rom tags to use the multiline attributes for several properties. A couple of my officemates are getting an errant behaviour that i am unable to replicate.

- sometimes when using a tag, the multi-line attributes move themselves, by alot. up or down, even change the text alignment. This can happen in constructs and in views. You can see the displacement as soon as you start dropping the tag, the block ghost will be all messed up.

- starting a new view from scratch will make the tags behave normally (a constuct that tags properly can result in a view that does not.)

- if tagging the constructs (i, know, i know), copying out the spaces to a new file, tagging, then copying in the geometry will also fix the tags. if i copy ALL the problem persists. If i remove the tags and purge the styles and drawing, the problem persists.

is this a fluke, or is there a file setting of some sort that my mates have (de)activated?

i have two projects that are working without a hitch, and two that are badly misbehaving.

I need to make the curve Tangent at each attachment point between two poles. The best I can do as of now is eyeball it in there which will get me the sag distance pretty closly but as any Autocad user knows if it isnt exactly aligned it will drive you nuts. I made a rough sketch of what im trying to do.
