AutoCad :: Properties Window Slow To Regenerate After Selecting Entity?
Oct 2, 2012I'm using Mechanical 2010. I keep my "Properties" window docked on the right side of my screen. I've run like this for several years, but recently when I click on an entity, it takes a few seconds to regenerate the window..
I running XP on a 16 bit machine with 4 gig of ram.
3ds Max :: Aligning Co-ordinate System / Pivot
Feb 29, 2012I have done some reading up on this but the answer is not apparently obvious. I want to do the equivalent of an AutoCAD 3 Point UCS creation in Max.
The attached shows some planar objects with 2mm gaps between them. These are orientated at various angles from XYZ in the World co-ordinate system. I simply want to move some of the vertices in a line along an edge of the parts in order to increase the 2mm gaps slightly.
Q. How do I set up the XYZ so that it matches the parts that I have selected?
I have looked at Affect Pivot/Edit Pivot etc. but there doesn't seem to be an option to choose edges for the XY axes as you would in CAD?
Photoshop :: Selecting All Layers Slowing System So Much?
May 31, 2012I'm now using Photoshop CS6 and I've noticed that selecting all layers is having a major drain of CPU.I've run Activity Monitor and with SAL on the %CPU is showing 238! This seems crazy, but I can't work out why? There must be an error in CS6?
Even without SAL on the %CPU is still reading 131.I am using the mixer brushes and I am aware that these are a big problem in PS, but should it be this bad?
My system:
Mac Pro
2x2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
10 GB 800 MHz DDR2
Only running OS and PS CS6 with 3 layers open..image 13M

but this will regenerate every catalog that i have loaded for the multi-view part domain. How can i regenerate a single catalog like the bubble popup does when Autocad MEP detects a catalog change?
Using the link will only regenerate the specified catalog and not all catalogs. I would like to perform the same with code.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Message With Regenerate IAssemblies
Oct 10, 2012With the iAssembly I created I now have a message when I open the drawing informing me that i need to regenerate the factory. This terminology is new to me and I have not been able to accomplish this task. I have opened the assembly, selected manage, and updated the assembly with each of the iAssemblies active.

Aug 15, 2007Every time I save my drawing or it does an Autosave I get the message "Regenerating model" and have to wait 30 seconds for everything to regenerate. There is no reason it needs to do this, is there some way I can turn it off?

Jun 11, 2013I have upgraded to 2014 and since then I get this annoiying thing that happens when I am moving selected objects/lines across the screen during a copy and move. It's not a computer perfomrance thing. I have two monitors and I have called up both 2014 and 2013 side by side. When O copy or move and drag across the screen everything is wonderful. No regen while dragging, I can see the lines/objects 100% solid while dragging. In 2014, as I'm dragging and can't see the objects/lines because it's trying to regeneratate (slowly) while I'm dragging.
I have checked all my setting in tools>options and they are identical to what I ahve in 2013.

Jul 7, 2013Inventor does not think an update is required for iAssembly members after changes to attributes on a client feature are saved. In our workflow we avoid rebuild all because it causes subassemblies to change, so we force an update by changing a parameter. Through the API is there a good way to indicate that our change was significant enough for members to need updating?

Sep 17, 2013I opened a drawing today and the text in the multileaders is 10x's too large as you can see in the attached screenshot of construction keynotes.
It was fine when I closed it yesterday and I was the last person to open the drawing.
Multileaders in both model and paper space are affected.
I've tried:Running an Audit and fixing errors (no change).Changing the annotative scale of the drawing - this does scale the multileaders, however the text is still 10x's too large.Adding annotative scales to the Object Scale List of the multileaders (no change).Changing settings like DIMSCALE, CANNOSCALE, LTSCALE (no change).
I suspect this is a random error without a fix and I'm going to have to delete all the multileaders, purge the drawing, and redraft the multileaders, or do what I did before annotative multileaders: use dynamic blocks I created for making callout notes.

END and INT (where leader crosses other entities) work but cannot use NEAREST.
Can use NEAREST on normal leaders though.
Running AutoCAD LT 2013 on Win 7 Pro.

Jan 4, 2011Is there a way to select multiple multileaders and change the text to the same thing in all of them? (Like a block with attributes, where you can simply change the attribute in the properties box).
This would save so much time instead of going to each one of them, double click, edit text, "tab", "enter"...
AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: With Useable Multileaders
Jun 1, 2011I am adding some complex details to my block library, and I want to include about 20 different multileaders in each block so that I have immediate and consistent access to the annotations. I may use an individual block many timess in a drawing, but each instance of the block may only require me to use 4 or 5 of the multileaders. I also want to be able to manipulate the multileaders in the same way as I do any regular multileader (change their position and location, landing length, align, etc) and even align and position them with other multileaders that are not part of the block.
How do I create or use a block in this way? I essentially want to create a dynamic block of some sort, but I don't really know where to start. Am I trying to do the impossible? Would it be easier to just create a visibility parameter to keep the mleaders hidden, go into the block editor at every instance of the block, copy the mleaders I want to use, and paste them into the drawing?
AutoCAD Map 3D :: DWG With Few Shape Files - Multileaders Disappear
Sep 3, 2013I am using map 3d 2011 and i am running into issues with the use of multi-leaders. I have a dwg with a few shape files in it and I have added multileaders to the dwg. When I save, close and then reopen the file the multileaders show up for a brief second during the loading process but then they disappear. All my settings are correct (layers, visibility, scales) as far as the leaders go but I can't figure out what the heck is going on. I tried adding another, select similar and only the one shows up that I just added. Saved the file and reopened. Same thing, the leader I just added shows up with the others for a brief second and then "poof" gone!!!

Attempting to hatch (walls, in this case). This screenshot is just after I enter the Hatch command...... And this is what happens when I click inside the wall to be hatched. This is the exact same sceen, one mouse click later:
... This seems to be my green text somehow suddenly expanding in size. This then prevents the hatch from being properly applied. THe green text is all annotative, seems to be MLeader, and also happens when I have an MLeader with a block / attirbute (ie, in the first image I have a "W6" block in a diamond multileader.
To avoid this I have been usind Layiso / Layuniso but this takes time & doesn't automatically 'cut out' the hatch if there is text in the way.

Dec 15, 2011I am in no way an expert in ACAD.We are experiencing "random" problems where we have a multileader with left justified text and the leader extension option turned on. There is probable a common trait with all the offending leaders but we are yet to see it.
Basically, with some leaders, the landing length is being set to a negative value. We have only noticed this since we turned on the extend leader to text option. The result of this is that the leader lines can sometimes cross through the text. Sometimes we fix them, then they revert to a negative value again when we close the drawing.
We can, of course, uncheck the extension option in the drawing and the problem appears to go away. However, we have unchecked this option in our templates now, but when we open a new drawing based on the updated templates, the option is checked again.

Sep 12, 2013When editing multileader text, the insertion point changes. How do I stop this? I have several multileaders with their insertion points aligned together (left justified notes) but if I edit any text, the multileader jumps to a new position and is no longer aligned with the other notes.

Sep 25, 2008I am having a problem with a delay in selecting an object and selecting a command.
When I select an object the pointer has at least a 3 second delay before it starts moving around normally again. It is the same with selecting a command. This has started to get tedious. It has worked fine in the past so I don't think it is a RAM/graphics card problem.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Mouse Selecting / Not Selecting?
May 15, 2012OK, today, or actually just this afternoon I've noticed it has become much harder to select items with the mouse.
Points, nodes, etc...anything where you'd typically hover the mouse over the item and it highlights for you to select it.
For example, lets say you want to project a point from another sketch, or select the center node of a line, etc.
Never really had an issue until this afternoon where now it seems I have to be right on top of the item and I cannot budge one bit or it won't select it. It is now taking me numerous attempts to select things like points (zooming in does not work, points scale accordingly).
Is there a setting somewhere? I can't seem to find such under Tools>Application Options and the like.

Unfortunately when I choose to format as nez (when importing) it turns the whole lot round by 90degrees ...
I have tried importing it as enz but no joy, and also in niether case will it align with my map (have tried using coords and not using coords).
