When I export a section of a drawing using a viewport in paper space and the export pdf function, the text doesn't appear in the PDF. I've noticed some other layers didn't appear, but that was because they weren't set to print. The text layer is set to print, but it doesn't.

When I export to PDF it looks like this:
It's like in Illustrator when you specify whther the line is on the inside or outside of the curve, but I don't know how to control this in Inventor. I've tried changing the line thickness and all that but I've not had any success.

when I join pdf's that I have exported from Inventor with ones exported from word and other programs. Both files are fine when seperate but once they are joined the other pages text becomes all distorted. This also happens when I join pdf's exported from Inventor with ones exported from AutoCAD.
Using: Autodesk Inventor 2013, Acrobat Pro 9 and AutoCAD 2012 on Windows 7.
I've uploaded an Inventor project into my cloud account. When the drawing is exported from Inventor DWG to DWF, there are strange circles showing up on the base view.

I've been trying to make a male and matching female screw and fitting for attaching two parts that will be 3D printed. However, whenever I export the part to an .STL file, the threads do not show or print properly.

I have two part files: Part A and Part B. Part A contains a sketch block, Block A, which will be used as a basis for Part B.
I derive Part B from Part A using a "Derived Part" to bring in only the sketch block (Block A) from Part A. When I do this, Inventor sets every dimension in Block A to "Export" and creates a custom iProperty for it. Then the Custom iProperties list in both Part B and Part A is cluttered with every dimension from Block A.
Is there any way to prevent it from creating all of these custom iProperties?

I have two user parameters saved in a part template that are tied to the part volume and an overall estimated part weight. The user parameter Pc_Volume is the volume in cubic feet and calculated by pulling the part mass (in cubic inches) and converting to cubic feet via ilogic rule. This is then automatically run via event triggers before a file is saved and if the part geometry has changed to keep the volume up to date. These are exported because they get pulled into iproperties of our drawing files as well as used to create a parts lists showing the volumes and weights.
I have the property formats of the user parameters set to Number and to unitless and the unit display turned off so it does not show on the parts list, with a precision of 0.000 for Pc_Volume. The Pc_Weight is set the same way however with a precision rounded to the nearest whole number.
These are created this way so when we use the part file as the template when we select "Make Components" to separate our parts and tie them to an assembly all the files are then updated and the information saved for exporting.
The problem is, the Pc_Volume always comes in rounded to a whole number. The Pc_Weight Does as well, but that doesn't bother me since we want it to do that anyway. If I would go into the part file after it's created, double check the precision and then re-run the rule the volume will show up with the correct precision in the exported parameters. I don't want to have to open each partfile however to get this to update.
Attached are images of the parameters, ilogic rule, and exported results.
I have recently upgraded to Gimp 2.8.3 on my Mac OS Snow Leopard, primarily for the new "export to PDF" feature that would keep text searchable within PDF.
The results are very odd... The text in the exported PDF is, indeed, searchable and copyable, but the font size shrinks drastically (see attached screenshot).
In IV 2011 can text be word wrapped in the defined text area.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to finally utilize iLogic and all of its functionality (after using the basic features of inventor for the past 3 or so years) and I was wondering if there was a way to use iLogic (or some other feature for inventor) to resize text in a title block field of an IDW based on the length of the text entered (i.e. if the part's name was "Cam Retainer" the text height would be .12, but if its part name was "Spacer Cam Retainer Bushing" the text height would shrink down to .085 or something) so that it would still fit nicely into the text block?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with changing the height of the dimension text. I have tried going into the style editor and changing the text height in there and then saving it. The number for the height that I changed stays saved however the actual text height on the drawing does not, not even after I tell it to update.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'd like to be able to have 2 lines in the Format Text box and have the first line show up on the drawing (IDW) but have the other line only show up in the Format Text box for reference. I've tried making a new Text Style of Hidden but any time I try to change one line it automatically changes them both.
Is this even possible?
I am trying to export a DWG as a WMF in AutoCAD LT 2008. Every time I export it, whether from model or paper space, a black border is placed around the exported image. Is there any way to get AutoCAD to stop adding this border?
I was opening it in Adobe Illustrator to delete the border and exporting as a WMF from AI. However, this last export was distorting the image i.e. in AutoCAD the distance between points A and B were equal, but in AI the distance between A and B were NOT equal. It is critical that the image is not distorted in any way.
It must be a WMF because it is being used by a piece of software my coworker is coding. The software cannot handle any other vector graphic formats. A vector graphic is necessary because the software has a zoom function.
Finally, I cannot use BetterWMF or anything similiar because I am unable to install software on my work computer.
I recently started using AutoCAD. I drew two floor plans for an assignment I have. Now i'm trying to export the drawing into PDF (with scale set to 1:100) so I can export it into indesign and photoshop, however when I export it a small part of the drawing is cut off. I'm not sure how to describe it, but if you look at the included files you can see what i'm talking about.

I have included a .dwg with polylines of the 5 patches. The .sdf file could not be attached.
Why the layouts are not exported?why the layout are not exported when applying the command “Export”? why only one layout is exported?
Is there a way to export all the layouts as any part of the dwg file is exported?
Our GIS department is looking fo an easy way to import a CAD drawing into ArcMap without having to fool around with different scales and what not.
Currently we draft with the units set at "unitless", does this need to be change? Is there other settings that need to be set up to make the export/import easier?
I'm trying to export a drawing to PDF. It works fine except the background photo, an xrefed TIFF file, doesn't appear.
I searched a bit and found a thread that mentioned going into printer/plotter properties, graphics, raster images, and pulling the two upper sliders left a bit. This didn't change anything for me.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to make an exported PDF to show up clear on the compurter screen. I have changed the settings. I have found Bullzip PDF which expoerts out a great copy that a customer is able to look at without having to zoom in on the pdf. But the issue with this program is you can put them in one file but it is very tedious. Is there a way to make the AutoCAD pdf export any clearer without having to zoom in on the PDF to read for example dimensions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been banging my head on this for a couple days now and to no avail. I am accessing 2004 DWG files through AutoCAD 2013 in order to update dates and re-print to searchable PDFs for our facility team, however, I cannot get the DWG text (stand alone or room tag attribute) of the file to become searchable in Acrobat X. Being a 2004 file and due to previous manager decisions, all text in the DWG file is an SHX style, and I've attempted to change over to the True Type format in hopes that it would clear the issue up, but the base DWG file doesn't seem to agree with changing current fonts for either stand alone or within the ROOMTAG block itself. I've tried all settings in the Acrobat "convert to PDF" settings menu without success.
I'll be migrating all of our drawings into a Revit format for this effort next year so this is the last year for the "legacy" drawing files that have accumulated over the years...and I've already tested this in Revit with much success!
I exported a building I drew in a program to a shape file. It produced 3 files, a .dbf, a AutoCAD Shape Source file, and a AutoCAD Compiled Shape. Can I import my exported shape file into AutoCAD 2010?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have drawn several shapes including simple ones like rectangles with the corners filleted to 2" radii and ones shaped like a jelly bean using a combination of polylines, straightlines and arcs.
In my ACAD LT 2005 files, the arcs, fillets and polylines all appear very smooth (I set the display setting to 10,000) after I saw that the arcs had noticeable facets (like a diamond) when zoomed in.
My problem is that when I send these DXF files to my CNC router technician and he imports them into his program (EnRoute V.5). All of those arcs, fillets, and polylines still have those facets in them and do not appear smooth. When we actually cut plywood from these files, the pieces are in fact choppy.
My question- besides the display settings, is there a setting that I can change that will increase the number of control points that make up these curves that would smooth these facets out?
I am running Autocad Mechanical 2013 as part of the Product Ulitmate Design suite.
I am using a Sheet Set to export a number of layouts to a single PDF. Everything is as expected, except that all my Parts Lists (EXCEPT ONE!!) are not showing up in the PDF. The only difference I can see between the one that works and the many that don't is that on all the ones that don't work I have a "Filter by Ballooned" filter applied to the parts list. What could be up with this? Could that filter somehow be the cause?
Another completely random and unexpected behavior: there is something that is causing all the AM_* layers that are automatically generated in paper space to suddenly become frozen. They all becomes frozen at once. Why or what it is I am doing to cause it to happen.
