I have a logo in curves inserted into a titleblock. It looks perfect.Â
When I export to PDF it looks like this:
It's like in Illustrator when you specify whther the line is on the inside or outside of the curve, but I don't know how to control this in Inventor. I've tried changing the line thickness and all that but I've not had any success.Â

Is it the limitation of my hardware that gets me these jagged edges or is there a way to at least make drawings with smooth lines?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to do an online pdf report for a customer. But when I made the pdf through publish to pdf option the font looks jagged. The header is Kozuka and for the body calibri. I tried various options but results are the same.
When converted to outline it looks fine the jagge dends disappear, but cann't edit.
I recently started using AutoCAD. I drew two floor plans for an assignment I have. Now i'm trying to export the drawing into PDF (with scale set to 1:100) so I can export it into indesign and photoshop, however when I export it a small part of the drawing is cut off. I'm not sure how to describe it, but if you look at the included files you can see what i'm talking about.

Currently we draft with the units set at "unitless", does this need to be change? Is there other settings that need to be set up to make the export/import easier?
I have been given a drawing that I need to edit but its a seems to be what I call a block ie if I click on it the whole drawing is selected, the only way to work on it that I know is to explode it, but if I then explode it the whole drawing is on one layer not like it should be. Is there a way of doing this to keep the layers?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using the ALIGN command to overlay two groups of blocks, I'm then using some VBA code to export the coordinates of the blocks to an excel sheet to make comparisons.
The issue I'm having is when I use the ALIGN command the coordinates exported are different to those in the drawing (but only for those moved using the ALIGN command).
I don't get this issue when I use the move, rotate and mirror commands, only ALIGN. What may be causing this?

Circles and diagonal lines look rubbish when i am in hidden view which i use for simple 3d black / white (i think this is the best way?).
I have tried:
- viewres (1000, 5000, 10000, 20000 sightly better)
- regen

when IÂ join pdf's that I have exported from Inventor with ones exported from word and other programs. Both files are fine when seperate but once they are joined the other pages text becomes all distorted. This also happens when IÂ join pdf's exported from Inventor with ones exported from AutoCAD.
Using: Autodesk Inventor 2013, Acrobat Pro 9 and AutoCAD 2012 on Windows 7.

I've been trying to make a male and matching female screw and fitting for attaching two parts that will be 3D printed. However, whenever I export the part to an .STL file, the threads do not show or print properly.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two part files: Part A and Part B. Part A contains a sketch block, Block A, which will be used as a basis for Part B.
I derive Part B from Part A using a "Derived Part" to bring in only the sketch block (Block A) from Part A. When I do this, Inventor sets every dimension in Block A to "Export" and creates a custom iProperty for it. Then the Custom iProperties list in both Part B and Part A is cluttered with every dimension from Block A.
Is there any way to prevent it from creating all of these custom iProperties?

I have two user parameters saved in a part template that are tied to the part volume and an overall estimated part weight. The user parameter Pc_Volume is the volume in cubic feet and calculated by pulling the part mass (in cubic inches) and converting to cubic feet via ilogic rule. This is then automatically run via event triggers before a file is saved and if the part geometry has changed to keep the volume up to date.  These are exported because they get pulled into iproperties of our drawing files as well as used to create a parts lists showing the volumes and weights.Â
I have the property formats of the user parameters set to Number and to unitless and the unit display turned off so it does not show on the parts list, with a precision of 0.000 for Pc_Volume. The Pc_Weight is set the same way however with a precision rounded to the nearest whole number.Â
These are created this way so when we use the part file as the template when we select "Make Components" to separate our parts and tie them to an assembly all the files are then updated and the information saved for exporting.Â
The problem is, the Pc_Volume always comes in rounded to a whole number. The Pc_Weight Does as well, but that doesn't bother me since we want it to do that anyway. If I would go into the part file after it's created, double check the precision and then re-run the rule the volume will show up with the correct precision in the exported parameters. I don't want to have to open each partfile however to get this to update.

I have created an iLogic panel which allows me to control my revision a lot easier and puts my entered data into the parameters of the sheet itself, is there a way to have this show up on the drawing itself for a template?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently made a new drawing template with ilogic prompts for entering data for all fields within the template. It also sets view sizes etc.  I have lots of master drawings, which are reused when sizes etc change for a contract, which i would like to transfer to this new template. Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard does not offer this function.
I could get all drawings in a folder copied to specific sheet size on the master template.As the template will probably be developed further in the future I'm very loathed to do this take manually.
I would like to know if there is a way to insert drawing no.1 into drawing no.2 (not copy sheets!) so that if I change the drawing no.1, the drawing no.2 (the one that contains no.1) also updates.
That is because I would like to have one part of the drawing that is ''standard'' and multiple drawings that contain this part (so that this part is defined in all drawings but is always the same). Because I don't want to have a separate drawing for the ''standard'' part, but only drawings that contain it.

Lines are very very jagged, the picture just looks bad. Viewres is at 20000. Why lines are not smooth?
My 2013 AutoCADÂ file needs to "regen" after just scrolling in and out once. I can't do anything because the lines are disconnected and jagged all of a sudden. This started a few hours ago after I drew a spiral staircase and blocked it. I noticed the lines were all of a sudden not connecting while drawing the stairs though. Is there a command that I might have accidently typed to change some type of format? or unit set up? I have been working on this file since September and this problem has never occured. The lines look fine from far away, but when you zoom in there's a clear separation. My snaps are on and they seem to be aligning when I click, but when you zoom in they're not touching at all. I've been googling for soooo long and can't find an answer. My units are 1/8" (Architectural) and when I check the dimension between the two lines it says it's 0".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm in a drawing file and I have some straight lines that when I'm a little zoomed out they look all jagged, but as I us my mouse scroll wheel to zoom in, the closer in I zoom the jagged line segment start to come together into one continuous line again.
Not all lines look jagged just some.
is there a setvar for this or a video card setting or something?
After designing a simple 3d model, I can only get it to print right with 2d wireframe. Unfortunately, I don't want all the lines showing up, just the ones on top. I tried all the views, but only 2d wireframe works. Need lines, not concept or realistic shades.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to delete the background and just have the object or person in the picture, I use the magic wand tool to delete the background then clean up with the eraser. BUT the outline of the object always looks jaggedy. This doesn't happen when I use photographs with the white background.
Is there some sort of trick I'm missing? Or do I just need more practice with the eraser tool?
i have a a problem i'm hoping someone can help me with. i've been using photoshop for awhile now and have had it installed on my computer for at least 3 years without problems. however, just the other day i've started having a problem with my fonts. whenever i use text, the edges of the text have a jagged appearance. they have a very pixilated look to them instead of smooth lines. i havent been doing anything differently nor have i changed any settings. this is happening with all of the fonts. anyone have any idea what's going on and what i can do?

View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen viewing pdfs exported from photoshop cs4 using acrobat pro 9. If I open single pdf, it's ok, but whenever I open another pdf, all text is jagged. Then if I close all pdfs and try opening the second one, it's ok again. It looks like acrobat is not able to render texts correctly in newly opened pdf when another pdf is already opened. This happens only with pdfs exported from photoshop (file->save as->pdf). It does not really matter if the first opened pdf is from photoshop or not, all other opened pdfs from photoshop are crapy. I tried different settings when saving pdf but the results are always the same - jagged type (it does not even look like aliased, it's completely screwed and unreadable) in second pdf. It is funny because text present as smart object from illustrator renders fine all the time. Therefor I think the problem is between photoshop export and acrobat, vectors are rendered with no problems. I tried opening on different pc (also with acrobat 9 pro) with the same result. Systems are vista on exporting pc, the second pc is running windows7 beta. However on the third pc with windows XP and adobe reader 9 everything works fine.
