AutoCAD Inventor :: Set Drawing Accuracy In 2013?
Sep 13, 2012Is there any way to set the drawing accuracy in INV2013.
Like not to calculate the points more than 3 decimals.

Can we alter the "Accuracy" of drawing an object in Xara? As an example, when I try to specify a size of 2.625, the 'size indicator box' in the info bar shows a size of 2.63. Is there a way to increase the accuracy of the sizing?
When I specify the 2.625 and 2.63 is indicated, is the object actually the desired 2.625? If so, is there a setting that allows for a finer display of information?
...and I do realize it's only 5 thousandths of an inch here, but I'm asked to design to specific sizes and this level of accuracy is indicated.
How to set the mass calculation accuracy to 'Very High' when doing calculations in iLogic.
I asked for the iLogic equivalent to the VBA term:
' Set the accuracy to VeryHigh.
oMassProps.Accuracy = k_VeryHigh
and was provided with:
oMassProps.Accuracy = 24580 'k_VeryHigh=24580
However, I believe that the value 24580 is actually equivalent to k_Medium. Confirm the iLogic equivalent value of k_VeryHigh.

I've has Inventor tell me this for thin walled tubes with holes in them, but not for a simple part like the attached one. Autodesk are you listening yet? This has been an issue for a long time. Mass calculations for parts with holes on curves do not work properly. On many parts the error comes up with "low" selected. By default each time I try to save the file, the error window pops up.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe just installed Inventor R2013. When opening drawings in R2013, the drawing resolution when one is zoomed to the extends of the drawing is very poor. If one were to open the same drawing in R2011 & R2013 and compare the two then one would see that the resolution is better in R2011. Is there a setting somewhere in R2013 to make the drawing resolution better?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have drawings (some with more than one sheet) from inventor 10. Now I like to open it in inventor 2013. The first sheet is showing, but I can't open the other sheets. I can print them, but I can see a listing of it or go to the sheet.
FYI, until December 2012 I worked in Inventor 10, now I have inventor 2013, so everything is new to me.
I'm having an issue with Inventor crashing every time I attempt to follow this exact procedure:
1. I have a drawing open with an iAssembly or iPart in it.
2. I edit a view by double-clicking the view, opening the 'Drawing View' dialog box.
3. I open the 'Model State' tab.
4. In the 'iAssembly/iPart Member' menu box, I select a different member.
Now, it may or may not open the 'Save' dialog box. If it does, then I click 'OK' and poof, Inventor crashes without fail, asking to send in a crash report.
The same thing happens if I start a brand new drawing and attempt to follow the same procedure while inserting a Base view.
Now, I know for a fact that the not all of the drivers are not up to date on my computer, I am not using a recommended graphics card, and I am using SP1.1, not SP2. I have notified my IT guy about this, but he has yet to get back to me. I don't now if/when everything on my computer will be updated. I do not have admin rights to my computer.
In the mean time, Inventor has become essentially useless for me until this issue has been resolved. how I can get these drawings to start working?
In the Inventor 2012 drawing environment when multiple objects were present I would pause the curser and use the wheel on the mouse to select the object and click the green check mark to dimension a part.
In Inventor 2013 the objects will scroll using the wheel but the green check mark don't show up. How can I select the correct object I want to dimension to?Has the behavior of the select other function changed in Invnetor 2013 or is this a bug?
I'm dimensioning to a mid point of a line that has a center line over it.
I don't understand why the right click - open drawing command had to be put in a submenu. Is there a way to customize the commands on these right click menus other than the marking menu? I don't really like the marking menu, and I don't want to put it there. There was nothing wrong with where it was... There are so many commands in the basic right click menu that a good majority of inventor users don't use. At least give us the ability to customize this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just started to do some work with Inventor 2013 and I noticed that, when creating a section view in a drawing, the preview is always uncut and shaded. Even when creating a partial section, the preview shows the full, shaded assembly. I tried playing with the "Section View Preview as Uncut" setting in Application Options, but this doesn't seem to do anything.

I can control line colour and line type (as in solid, dashed, dotted etc) from Manage - Styles editor - Layers.
When I make changes to the "Visible" layer:
- the line colour changes come through both to screen and printer
- the line type only comes through to the screen, but not to the printer
- the line weight is ignored both by screen and printer

At my company, we do a large amount of work with sheet metal parts and assemblies. On our drawings, we like to do "detail" views of the flat patterns of each part of the assembly. Basically, how we do it now is insert a base view of the assembly and the BOM onto the first sheet and then on separate sheets, we place base views of the flat patterns for each of the components that will be cut on our cnc plasma table. We use the item number to denote which part it is in the assembly. Is there any way to pull the item number from the assembly BOM and use it as a parameter that can be inserted into the view label? Right now, it's a nightmare if the assembly BOM is modified because we have to go back in to each view label and manually change the item number.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that I created (.dwg) in Inventor 2013 that, when opened, is completely blank. However, when in the File>Open dialog box, I can click on the name of the drawing and the preview shows the complete drawing with all views fully dimensioned. I closed Inventor, laucned AutoCAD and tried opening the same file and it was still blank (no views). I then closed that file and open the old version of the file from the, "OldVersions" folder with Autocad and all the views and dimensions were there.
So I launced Inventor again and reopened the offending print and noticed that the model is not shown in the drawing's model tree. I'm 100% positive that I did not delete this model/view from the drawing before saving the file. This is a small drawing and it will only take me a few mintues to recreate it.

I am trying to design a barrel cam. This works well with lofting, but I am not so sure about the mathematical accuracy. I am used to making cams like this with 1/4 degrees resolution - much too cumbersome in lofting. Is there a way with "_sweep" to constrain the profile (2d polyline) so that it stays e.g. parallel with the Z-axis?

Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have this heavy issue, i can't send to back a line, an object or a hatch under other lines. In 2012 i used this feature a lot but in 2013 it's not working very much, maybe 1 time out of 10 and i absolutely can't say why.
HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?
I've just started working with CS2, and I've noticed some quirks. I can't put my finger on it, but whenever I'm working on web layouts everything I do seems to have a strange aliasing / artifacting going on. I thought it was just my imagination, but then when I was out at the bar with a good friend of mine that's a designer, he mentioned that he'd seen the same problem and moved back to CS. Although it was annoying, I wasn't prepared to take that leap until I was working on a project yesterday and copying an area of solid color (#EEEEEE) into a new image created a dithered effect in the new image. There's absolutely no reason that it should have made any changes to the numbers, but it did. Is this some new function that's supposedly going to help photographers that is getting in my way? Now, I know that Photoshop has not always been the most accurate when working with solid colors and pixelated imagery, etc., but it has always worked really well for the work that I do. There's definitely a difference with CS2, but I really can't put my finger on it. For now, I'm back to working on CS, which is really unfortunate, because I love some of the new interface tweaks that Adobe has made.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've recently come up againast a wall in Illustrator. I'm producing a large, detailed pie chart, and the fine slices aren't being shown accurately.
For example, if you prodoce a simple 3-slice pie chart using: 99.5, 0.1, 0.4 .... the smallest slice will be lost. It looks as though Illustrator will not show anything under a quarter of a per cent.
I recently added 2 monitors to my set up to bring my total to 3. I am trying to figure out the best way to work on one drawing, with 2 differant veiws on each of the 2 main screens.
I would like my main screen to have the plan view and the second monitor to have an isometric veiw (or whatever I need at the time) of the same drawing. Is there a way to have the same drawing opened up in another window, in one session of Autocad 2013. One on the main screen and one on the secondary.
As many of us seam to do the option to save by default to an older version of AutoCAD or universal DXF format is selected, my problem is however when you save an existing drawing a prompt appears asking if 'Drawing*.dxf last saved in AutoCAD 2004 format. Save in AutoCAD 2013 Drawing format?' this has annoyed me for years!
I have set it as default DXF 2014 for a good reason I don’t want a prompt asking me if I want to then save it as 2013 or I would have set it like that on my default setting, gets on your nerves when you are doing 100's of files.
Win7 64 Pro - Asus P8P67 PRO - i5-2500k CPU O/C@4.5Ghz- OCZ Vertex 2 SSD - 8GB Ram - GTX550 Ti - SpaceExplorer.
So I'm always interested in what others use for gear as well. As a photographer myself comparing gear is quite common. I thought I'd ask what people are using for their photoshopping. I figure some use mouse, trackball, tablet etc.
I run a Sony Laptop and a Wacom Intuous 3 tablet. I run the tablet for the incredible speed and accuracy. I do have a large monitor on my second lappy in the office, but rarely use it. I find that screen size isn't that important to me, i just zoom in when I need to work on details.
I am having trouble getting colors in Ink 'n Paint materials to render as specified. They appear washed out - brighter and in low saturation. It happens with both default and mental ray renderers, with or without exposure control on. It also happens if I create an all new scene with nothing but a single box and the default Ink 'n Paint material, using default render settings, not touching anything else - the blue is wrong in the render.
Maybe I am misunderstanding the material itself somehow or missing something else, but I imagined one of the points of the material is to force colors to render exactly as specified.
Is there a way to show the full GPS coordinate data in the metadata?
In Nikon ViewNX it shows one of the coordinates as S23d 19m 15.23s from my image while Lightroom 4.2 only shows 32d 19m 15s. The 0.23seconds is missing in LR4. The data must be there as I have images that are shown in different positions on the map but the GPS metadata is the same. Since the full data is not sown in LR4 the metadata cannot be accurately copied from one image to another.
i download it successfully BUT nothing happened as usual on my CAD screen - tabs doesn't appear !
- i restart my AutoCAD many times.
- nothing appear in plug-in tab.
How accurate is CorelDraw in measuring object lines and angles.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have created an iLogic panel which allows me to control my revision a lot easier and puts my entered data into the parameters of the sheet itself, is there a way to have this show up on the drawing itself for a template?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSetting up a tabulated ipart drawing template. Which is better...one drawing file with a table or individual drawings for each tabulation? Also does one method work better than the other when introducing vault?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently made a new drawing template with ilogic prompts for entering data for all fields within the template. It also sets view sizes etc. I have lots of master drawings, which are reused when sizes etc change for a contract, which i would like to transfer to this new template. Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard does not offer this function.
I could get all drawings in a folder copied to specific sheet size on the master template. As the template will probably be developed further in the future I'm very loathed to do this take manually.
I would like to know if there is a way to insert drawing no.1 into drawing no.2 (not copy sheets!) so that if I change the drawing no.1, the drawing no.2 (the one that contains no.1) also updates.
That is because I would like to have one part of the drawing that is ''standard'' and multiple drawings that contain this part (so that this part is defined in all drawings but is always the same). Because I don't want to have a separate drawing for the ''standard'' part, but only drawings that contain it.
