View 1 RepliesI've been a faithful photoshop user for quite some time now, but today I got wickedly impressed by this tiny software that features this awesome specular highlighting technique that photoshop does not do by default. This software is called "Art Text 2"H! I had prepared some image links but cause I'm so new I can't put them.[URL]...
As you can see, the bevel reflection is created using the specular information of the "sphere map". Furthermore the program allows you to change the sphere map highlights interactively, and even choose your own image sphere maps. This is just amazing, isn't it? Creating realistic metal text or things is just super easy with this. I think everyone of us has had problems doing realistic metal effects on photoshop, am I wrong?
In Photoshop you have the "bevel and emboss" style feature, and it works pretty well, but it isn't made for say: reflecting a window on the beveled text.Sphere maps are commonly used in gaming to simulate realistic reflection of 3d objects, and I can think of a million ways of using this technique on 2d. way of simulating this sphere map reflection on layers on Photoshop?
Creating feature edit dialogs? I currently have working program that creates a custom pocket/cavity but I'm having trouble with the User Interface and setting up a solid structure to handle events. My goal is to mimick how the "add hole" dialog works by having the following attributes:
- Ribbon button to bring up dialog
- Dimensions update when the dialog text boxes are updated
- Right click menu to edit existing features
- Existing dimensions and other properties are loaded when the dialog is used to edit existing features
So far, I have my classes structured this way:
AddinServer (handles loading and unloading the command) ->
CavityCommand (defines the buttons and containes event handlers) ->
CavityFeature (wraps up multiple identicle cavities into one client feature) ->
Cavity defitions (draws individual cavities using more specific classes)
I'm looking to do sort of an adaptive annotation thorugh vb.net.
Essentially i'd like it start with a leader and instead of your normal text dial that appears, you get a box to punch in values in a grid. 5 columns across, as many as two rows.
The idea being if i punch in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in the first six boxes all 5 in the first row appear with boxes around each number and then only the 6 has aa box around it on row 2.
I can see it as a table 5x2, and the format option being if the cell has text, the border type is outline. Although i don't think those options exist for inventor.
I am attempting to create a packaging mold for an 'item assembly' which I have created in AutoDesk Inventor. To do so, in a new 'mold assembly', I made a solid rectangular prism with the assembly constrained in the middle of it. I then import this new 'mold assembly' through the 'derive component' option into a new part and make Inventor subtract from the prism the shape of the 'item assembly'. This gives me my mold, however I am not sure how I can erase the original 'item assembly' that was placed inside the prism (which is now a mold), for it still remains after the derive component feature has been executed. How I can remove it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to add a column to my parts list, which displays a value based on a formula.
Lets say i want to show the submerged weight of a part; So i need to create a column, which can use the information about a parts volume and mass to calculate its submerged weight.
An easy formula, but is this possible in Inventor (2012 Pro)?
What I would like to do is create a custom dialogue for each of 3 or 4 standard sketch symbols we use on a regular basis. I'd like to load 'suggsted' values out of an excel spreadsheet and allow the user to pick from them or enter in a custom text string if required. The values would then become part of the sketch symbol.
I've spent some time looking into iLogic rules and I think I've determined that they're not flexible enough to do what I want.
If I'm correct, it is possible (or a good idea) to do this using a VBA macro? I'm a little hesitant to go down the full blown add-in route. While I'm pretty confident I could work it out.
How is it possible to use "Feature Pattern Select'' to make the Pattern a want in an assembly?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo simple little retaining wall subassembly created in the SAC. When i extract multiple feature lines from a corridor using this subassembly, all the feature lines assume the elevation of the first link i selected. So if i first click on 'RW_Hinge" all successive feature lines will show up with the same elevations as "RW_Hinge". if i erase all the feature lines the select a different link say "RW_Top" then they all go to "RW_Top".
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a problem about creating feature line. When I want to create feature line between two red points, another point come into being by itself (blue point). If you look at the file I have attached, you will understand well what I want to express. I cant make any changes on this point. I cant delete, modify etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using the new populate feature. I would like to use custom skins. I have several biped figures that are what I would like to use for textures. I am not sure how the mapping works and you can not just copy the textures over.
What do I have to do to take my texture from my biped skinned character and apply it to the populate character?
When creating Feature Lines, I wanted them to be e.g. Step Line 1, Step Line 2, Step Line 3 etc so I amended the name template to suit. I created multiple from objects and the naming convention worked. If I did features individually (as I wanted certain ones in certain sites) it worked for the first feature but reverted back to the default Feature line name on subsequent entry to the dialog i.e. it had "forgotten" the template name just set.
Am I missing something to get this to work correctly or is this how it's supposed to work i.e. useless for individual feature line creation?? This also happens for gradings.

When inserting a content center part for which we have to choose a material, we would like to have a custom material as a default (material with name: "No material selected"). So when selecting no material for this part (for example when the user forgets to select a specific material), the default material (in this case material "No material selected") will be active. In this way, we can see in one view across the BOM which parts have no material assigned yet.
How can this be achieved in the content center (editor)?

When using Inventor with Vault, we have a problem when categorizing custom content center parts in Vault. In short, custom content center parts are incorrectly categorized as "Content Center" and automatically released - as there is no property that we can use to identify these files.
I need iLogic code to trigger when custom content center files are created/saved, wich adds the following custom iproperty "IsCustomContentCenter=True".
I am trying to create custom Materials in Inventor 2013. I have been able to create the custom appearances I want use on the materials and store them in the Inventor Materials Library.
After creating the custom appearance, Ive created new materials. When I try to change to new material appearance from default to my custom appearance, upon hitting the 'apply' button I get an error message which reads, 'failed to updated style'.
I was wondering if there could be a feature where you can right-click the Navigator window to set custom percentages?
When you currently right-click the navigator it just uses the OSX system right-click. I have been needing to use the percentage 133.33 during a project and have to manually type it in each time. If you could mark custom percentages as a breakpoint it would allow me to jump to that breakpoint when using CMD - /CMD + .

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat I am trying to do is create a custom sheetset template that will have ALL my sheets embedded, that way all my notes, details and sheets will always be ready. I would just need to update some text and details from time to time.
These are the steps that I have taken
Created a new sheetset and called it Sheetset Template
In this sheetset template, I created all my sheets and inserted notes/details.
At this point I thought all I would need to do is copy the sheetset file and all by sheets would get copied too, but that was not the case, just the sheetset file was copied and I have to create all the sheets again.
I am using corel draw to run my laser engraver and I am trying to make a custom frame. Epilog laser.com has a tutorial how to do it, but I am afraid it is a tutorial for corel draw x3 or x4. I have x5 and when I follow the tutorial, I am not able to get the result I want. I find trouble when I try to trim out the images from the frame.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a memory experiment and I want to create a file with a drag and drop feature. I set an image as layer 1, and several images as layer 2. I would like to create a file where people can drag and drop on of the images from layer two onto a slot in layer one. Ideally I would like it to remain stable if the place an image in the slot (meaning if they try to place one of the images from layer 2 into layer 1, I want it to align perfectly).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a custom shape for a custom linetype. I had no problems making it and the linetypes worked perfectly in the drawing I created it in. However, when I tried to load the linetype into another drawing it said there was a bad definition in the line with the link to the shape file. When I tried to import the shape file into the drawing to look at it, it said that the shapefile has an invalid FIle Code number (707865649). Considering that I created it not ten minutes before I do not understand what the problem is. The real problem is that I have made many linetypes and all the ones with shapes are having the same problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have not had any luck finding support on Auto Cad Architectures Keynoting w/ data base.
The issues I can't seem to resolve are: formatting the reference legend and saviing the format so I can re-use it in all my drawings creating a custom reference keynote?
i'm looking to select a block reference, take it's wcs position, translate the coordinates to the current ucs and then create an xline using those translated coordinates. simple, right?
i simplified some code to test that i could properly build an xline in a current ucs. i just threw in static point3d values instead of grabbing them from another object. it worked as expected:
<CommandMethod("test")> _ Public Sub test() 'get the active document, editor and database Dim acDoc As Document = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument Dim acDocEd As Editor = acDoc.Editor Dim acCurDb As Database = acDoc.Database 'start a transaction Using acTrans As Transaction = acCurDb.TransactionManager.StartTransaction() 'open the table for read Dim acBlkTbl As BlockTable acBlkTbl = acTrans.GetObject(acCurDb.BlockTableId, OpenMode.ForRead) 'open the record for write Dim acBlkTblRec As BlockTableRecord acBlkTblRec =
[code]...
here, i revised the code so that a block reference's objectid is passed from another procedure, the origin is determined, translated to the current ucs and the points are tailored for the xline's basepoint and secondpoint. i threw in a few writemessages to ensure that the coordinates were indeed what i was looking for and they match up, but for some reason, the xline now fails to create itself.
'define the current ucs Dim ucsDesign As Matrix3d = acDocEd.CurrentUserCoordinateSystem 'start a transaction Using acTrans As Transaction = acCurDb.TransactionManager.StartTransaction() 'open the connector block for read Dim acBlock As BlockReference = acTrans.GetObject(idConnector, OpenMode.ForRead) 'save connector origin Dim ptOrigin As Point3d = acBlock.Position 'translate the point to the current ucs Dim ptUcsOrigin As Point3d = ptOrigin.TransformBy(ucsDesign.Inverse) 'show me the block position acDocEd.WriteMessage(vbLf & ptOrigin.ToString()) acDocEd.WriteMessage(vbLf & ptUcsOrigin.ToString()) 'open the table for read Dim acBlkTbl As BlockTable acBlkTbl = acTrans.GetObject(acCurDb.BlockTableId, OpenMode.ForRead) 'open
[code]...
i've rearranged this code multiple times, tried a couple different approaches, scoured the forums and even resorted to the less-than-elegant:
'create the xline Dim cmdString As String = "._xline " & ptUcsOrigin.X & "," & ptUcsOrigin.Y & "," & ptUcsOrigin.Z & " " & ptUcsOrigin.X & "," & ptUcsOrigin.Y + 1.0 & "," & ptUcsOrigin.Z & " " acDoc.SendStringToExecute(cmdString, True, False, False)
but i need to use the xline object after i've created it, so this sendstringtoexecute crap won't work.
I needed to remove a feature line that I used as a break line when creating a surface. When I removed the feature line from the definition of the surface, the grading did not change. It appears the points created by the feature line remain which is why grading didn't change. The only work around was to delete these points.
I noticed the same thing happens when I removed the surface boundary and inserted a new boundary. why these points remain and how to remove when I delete boundary and feature line from surface?
I am creating a corridor with custom assemblies on two alignments. the alignments are not parallel and graded independently.
Between the two assemblies I would like to fill from one assembly to the other with a dynamic link. I can't do this as a target to featureline etc as it is within the same corridor. We have created the link with a target but this was done by creating a non-dynamic featureline from the corridor and using that as the target. This is obviously not great as far as keeping the corridor dnamic is concerned.
So I would like to customise a subassembly to allow it to target a marked point on an adjacent assembly.how the SAC tools (Get marked poinit or set marked point etc.) can be used to do this. The help file is less than useful. I am still on 2012 and dont have access to the 2014 SAC yet but will do shortly.
I have Autocad 2007 and already have created a few custom linetypes by creating a new .line file that i edited with notepad.
My question is can i create a custom linetype intuitively by drawing myself the linetype on my autocad screen and then entering it somehow in Autocad without having to bother with linetype code.
I would like to create a halftone image using a custom shape in the "Halftone Screen" dialog box. i.e. using a custom shape I created instead of the standard "round" "diamond" etc. Basically what I want to know is - if it is possible - how does one create a custom .AHS file containing a custom shape you created so as to create a halftone image.
