When creating views in Inventor 2013 the text displayed for example VIEW001 (1:1)VIEW 001 is placed under the view by default. I would like this to be above the view by default.

I can't control text placement in photoshop 4. When I enter 2 letters, the line then zooms off to the right - right off the image. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn't work.

Any way to adjust the placement of my cross sections after i created my view frames? As you can see from the image attached i have extra room on the bottom of my sheet and my first cross section is not completely on the page. Some of my view frames are correct and others are not. View 8 Replies View RelatedI have dimensioned hundreds of drawings with the Ordinate Dimension command in Inventor 5.1. I'm now using Inventor 2011 and I'm having lots of issues using this command. When I first set up the dimensions, I can't get the dimensions to default close to the view. They almost always want to be on the very edge of the title block. I don't think this is a sttings problem, because occasionally they will lock to where I want them. What am I doing wrong?
The first attachment is how they go on their own. In the second attachment, I have manually moved them, but at 1 dimension per move, it's slow, and also hard to keep the all aligned.

Whenever I do a model update through an ilogic form my View representation changes from default to master and then i have to go and manually change them back to default also in my idw files in order to update the drawing files I have to go in and change the view representation from default to master click ok and close it then open view edit set it to default and close. Is this normal? Is there a setting so that my model views will stay on default?

For some reason regardless of what I save or the fact that I've saved the template files, everytime I open a new file it automatically adds shadows and applies perspective view. This is extremely annoying. How do I alter the default settings to be ortho with no shadows?

I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.

Is there Any code out there that will allow user to select part file then isolate and create view rep of that part with name of view rep the same as part.
The reason is we have lots of reps that isolate various components and this is very time consuming, I have had a look if there is Any customization because this would be a good user tool,also could work very well on assembly.
I have a solid body .ipt that I have created an assembly from. Some of the parts in the solid body can rotate which in turn rotates them in the assembly which is great. The problem is I need to create a drawing of the parts of the assembly. If I create a base view of a part that rotates the view rotates also, but I do not want that. Is there a way to create a view that always "looks" at a surface of a part no matter what position it is in?

I'm trying to develop a program where I can use a base view based on the current view of a single part. The idea is basically export the contour of the part to the DXL format and save it to be used on cutting machines.
I've found something similar here, but in the context, it was necessary to use the path of the part to work, and I need it to recognize the part that is already opened.
When i create a part in an assembly, i select a plane or face with the cursor, but then i select again a plane for the sketch.
Why this double selection, and what does the first selection do, if the part is actually sketched on the plane i selected in the second time.
Is there a way to anchor dimensions to views so that when the size changes, the dimensions retain their location in relation to the view?

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow does IV recognize iMate naming. I am trying to use specific named iMates on parts that when placed in the assembly that they can be placed in the correct postions. What I have run into is that no matter how I name the iMates I can place a part with one iMate name on a non-matching named iMate. Ex.- 1601-1 will mate with 2201-1 using the alt-Drag method. (These two iMates are both insert types.) This happens sometimes using the "Use iMate" checkbox on the place component dialog. I thought that the naming and type of iMate dictated what mates with what not just type.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to create an exploded view of an assembly to show how it's supposed to be put together. "Hey, why not use the slick presentation feature in Inventor? I've already got the model!" It's not working out to be that slick.
Outlined in red, is the "wrong" trail that Inventor put in by default. I added the highlighted trail, which is what I want and reflects how things actually go together. How do I get rid of the one I don't want? Hide turns off both of them. Delete deletes the tweak. All I've found was a workaround where I hide the line in the drawing.
Any way this can happen in a reasonable time frame, say in a release or 2,since view creation takes so long?Or did you development guys sneak that into R9?

I am fed up with constantly changing the colour, justification, font and font size of text in sketches in the part environment. The text style drop down box is greyed out in the part environment so i can't set up a style and just change it.
Where i need to go to change what the default-iso style defaults to? Any registry key change i can use to make the test style drop down box available in the part sketch environment?
