I have one big problem copy and paste symbols in one idw to another idw it takes to much time.it's possible through macro or ilogic for copying symbols in drawings?

I.e. if I had a square block constrained to a flat face of a floor, when I copy and paste the block many times I would like all the copy blocks to still be constrained to the floor.
Okay I've been building random things to teach myself how to use Inventor and right now I'm stuck on a rim I'm creating. My question is.. is there a way to copy and paste a lofted item since there are three parts to it (2 planes and 1 guide) because I need 4 more spokes and if I copy the loft it copies all three parts seperately. Then when I paste and orientate the small end of the loft to the plane I want it tells me "Unsatisfied Geometric Inputs".

I used to be able to set up the leader I wanted and then copy and paste to all the parts I wanted to assign it to but I can't paste anymore.

I have a one rectangular block(Control cabinet) it consists of around 100 sub rectangular blocks here problem is in my part user wants few blocks in different dimensions and different positions some time. So I created one sketch in my sketch plane then user wants more features on rectangular block then I want automatically copy and paste on same plane same sketch and same time automatically asking for dimensions(positional, length and width).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a sketch in an idw that is not attached to any view. I wan't to copy it somehow to another idw. But when I right click, copy and/or paste are not available for me to complete to process.
I tried creating a symbol using my already made sketch since those are easier to copy/paste between files. But I don't know how to proceed without recreating my sketch.
I have a sketch on the global ZY plane. I need a copy of the sketch on some other plane.
But when I copy the sketch and paste it to the other plane, the sketch seems to rotate.
It is pasted not the way I would like. And I see no method to rotate it into the correct position.
It's probably easy, but I do not see it.
I'd like to copy the ilogic text & keep it's colour format - what will do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you want to re-use a Frame Generator member in ANOTHER assembly to save creating more files you might want to use copy-paste.If you do then you find you can't delete this member or other ones that have been copy-pasted into that assembly.
Oddly enough if you use "place component" you CAN delete it.I am using Inventor Professional 2014 Service Pack 1 Update 1.
i'm trying to do is copy some linework in a sketch i have on autocad 2011 (i havent upgraded it yet) and paste it into a sketch i have on inventor 2013.
Copy and paste works fine with other versions of inventor or autocad, but i can't use 2013 inventor for pasting.
When i attempt to paste the linework into my 2013 inventor sketch i recieve a long hefty error message:
"String resource could not be loaded (and is missing?) for id 5239 (error 2fee34a0)"
I recently downloaded a .SAT part from 3dcontentcentral.com and i would like to use it in an assembly i am creating. Problem is, once i pulled it into Inventor, I am unable to edit the part to match the dimensions necessary for my assembly. How do i go about editing this part? Is there a way that i can copy the components of the part and paste into a new drawing, save as a normal part, then edit? I have attached a screenshop of the part so you can see the Model tree.
p.s. I would simply redraw the part, however i am having a lot of difficulty getting it to look as i want it to.
Using RMB to Copy a general table from one drawing & RMB paste to another has no result.
But using the CTRL + C & CTRL + V for the identical task works fine.
Looks like a bug. It's annoying at worst but hopefully easy for programmers to fix.
Inventor Suite 2013 Ultimate
Here I attached my model view it's just for reference here iam using rectangular pattern and simple ilogic code .Using rectangular pattern we will get all same sizes of boxes but i want to change different different sizes and positions. my idea is without using pattern just draw one rectangular through parameter. Select no. of compartments automatically copy and paste that rectangular in same sketch plane and ask sizes and positions dimensions.
It's possible through ilogic?
In my panel bar options are:
Hight of panel- Hight of panel
width1- Width of panel
Depth1-Depth of panel
com1- no.of Compartments
hIN- No.of Hinges
When working in a drawing, I don't see a selection for weld symbols in Annotate - Symbols. Are they not available in LT? Is there something I need to do to activate them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have autocad lt 2009, previously when I wanted to trace a drawing I would go to paint, copy the drawing and then paste it in autocad on one layer and do the drawing on another layer worked great, But now when I do the same process it doesn't work.....previously I could draw on the image, could edit the lines, copy, erase, move etc. But now when do this if I have to copy a line I select copy and when I click on the line I want to copy the jpg drawing goes away, or if I try to erase a line the drawing will get deleted, Do I need to uninstall autocad and reinstall?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI´m designing a sheet, but I've been running into some issues. First of all, I have some symbols on my view to describe some elements. I've been trying to add them to the sheet in a description table but I can´t copy them...is this possible or I would have to draw them again. Here is where I ran into another issue, cause those symbols are made with some styles of line that are not uploaded on my sheet, I went to Manage -> Additional Settings -> Line Styles and defined the new lines, but when I draw'em I can´t choose the new style, only the ones previously uploaded..

What I mean is do I need to do this with each new session of LT? That I will need to check out. I tried my Template and it allowed Paste without going to the Options Dialog in the same session.

I am having trouble copying out of a drawing (model space) which i received from someone else, and pasting into my own. The properties on the original dwg file suggest it was created Sept 2001. It appears to copy OK (copyclip/copybase), but when i jump into my file and try to paste, the command line just reads:
_pasteclip
and nothing appears in my model space.
I've tried zooming extents, exploding the original, changing layers and line types etc into the same as in my own dwg. I've also tried to convert/save the dwg file into dxf's and other version dwg's....without success.
I have about half a dozen drawings received from the same source, and they all let you copy data into them, but won't let you copy/cut out.
I have been having a problem with AutoCad 2012 LT when a am working in the model space I can you the ctrl c and ctrl p commands for a short amount of time and then they will not work. I can open a different model space and they will work in that one, but when I go back to the original one the will not work. I have tried shutting down autocad and the computer, but when I open everything back up the commands still will not work in that model space. I have reinstalled autocad and that brings them back for a short amount of time.

Maybe it is just the 2012 version of the software , what has changed or how to minimize the time this takes. I don't see any reason it should take up to a minute to copy a few polylines from one drawing to the next.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot seem to paste into this one drawing that a client has issued to me. I can paste into all associated x-refs just fine, but the main drawing is the issue. Before we get into things I have tried all the most common things already.
- I have checked layeer Visibilties and unreconciled layers.
- I have run audit and have purged/scalelistedit all drawings
- I have done almost everything ><
To sum it up I think it is global variable of some sort.
We installed 2013 version of Autodesk Civil3D, and strange things with Copy/Paste from one drawing to another happend!
If I try to copy some autocad objects like solid HATCH for ex,. from one file to another - I select drawing copy from, select Hatch, press Ctrl+C or rightclick > Clipboard > Copy, then select destination drawing, press Ctrl+V or rightclick > Clipboard > Paste, and I see in command window:
" _pasteclip Duplicate definition of block _Closed ignored.Duplicate definition of block _DotBlank ignored."The time interval is very long for single hatch copying.
I tryed audit/purge, and copying the HATCH again, - and now I see in destination drawing some strange array of LINE obects, it is not my HATCH! AutoCAD always starts do temporary save while doing this copy.
Else, if I open new two pure drawings, and start copy any types of acad objects between each other, so all works fine and quickly, no temporary saves, only remarkable pause starts above 20000 object copying, its quite acceptable for me, and still shorter time, than copy a single HATCH.
I suppose the problem is in drawing file, because if we make purge/audit than save and reopen drawing - sometines is it possible to copy, but after all we need to do this each time we want to copy acad objects to another file. This annoying issue have our another team members too, it prevents to do our job.
I found, that with HATCH object some blocks is ALWAYS copying from one file to another.
I have 2006 AutoCAD LT and have been trying to copy and paste something from one drawing to another and
ARX ERROR: eDuplicateKey
keeps popping up!
I still have a problem with copy and pasting drawings in the right units. I checked discussions but nothing seems to work. To make things less confusing for me I'll explain the situation in detail:
- I have a drawing file, in metres, that I want to copy to another file.
- My second drawing, in inches, is where I want to paste the drawing from the first file.
Let's say I have a line that's 1 m in the first drawing. When I paste onto the second drawing, it pastes as 1 in.
I tried insunits, units, etc. but it always comes out small when I paste it. Manually scaling the files will lose the accuracy.
