AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Copy And Paste Sketch In Same Plane Through ILogic
May 1, 2013Here I attached my model view it's just for reference here iam using rectangular pattern and simple ilogic code .Using rectangular pattern we will get all same sizes of boxes but i want to change different different sizes and positions. my idea is without using pattern just draw one rectangular through parameter. Select no. of compartments automatically copy and paste that rectangular in same sketch plane and ask sizes and positions dimensions.
It's possible through ilogic?
In my panel bar options are:
Hight of panel- Hight of panel
width1- Width of panel
Depth1-Depth of panel
com1- no.of Compartments
hIN- No.of Hinges

Jul 5, 2012I am trying to make an assembly copy as separate project using the iLogic Design Copy feature.
Everything seems fine except I do not have my involved in assemblyContet Centerparts in this copy.
I am also have no any possibility to chose the Content Center folder in the iLogic Design Copy feature as it does not showup there.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Paste ILogic Form Into Thousands Of Files
Jun 20, 2012I have an iLogic Form that I've created and implemented into our model template files. I am manually adding this Form to all existing files. It's a time consuming process of opening the files one by one and pasting in the same Form over and over.
Any way or program has created where it will take a Form opened in a model and paste that same Form into a selected group of files?
BTW I'm also having to do this to the Drawing Resources folder of Inventor IDW and DWG files as I have updated/modified our border design on the new templates. I want all of our existing drawing files to have the new border. So again I'm having to manually open each drawing file and paste in the Drawing Resources folder then clicking "Replace" any time it sees an existing name rather than click "New" as it would then give me duplicates of those names.

I.e. if I had a square block constrained to a flat face of a floor, when I copy and paste the block many times I would like all the copy blocks to still be constrained to the floor.

Jul 24, 2012Okay I've been building random things to teach myself how to use Inventor and right now I'm stuck on a rim I'm creating. My question is.. is there a way to copy and paste a lofted item since there are three parts to it (2 planes and 1 guide) because I need 4 more spokes and if I copy the loft it copies all three parts seperately. Then when I paste and orientate the small end of the loft to the plane I want it tells me "Unsatisfied Geometric Inputs".

But when I copy the sketch and paste it to the other plane, the sketch seems to rotate.
It is pasted not the way I would like. And I see no method to rotate it into the correct position.

Jan 10, 2014If you want to re-use a Frame Generator member in ANOTHER assembly to save creating more files you might want to use copy-paste.If you do then you find you can't delete this member or other ones that have been copy-pasted into that assembly.
Oddly enough if you use "place component" you CAN delete it.I am using Inventor Professional 2014 Service Pack 1 Update 1.

May 1, 2012i'm trying to do is copy some linework in a sketch i have on autocad 2011 (i havent upgraded it yet) and paste it into a sketch i have on inventor 2013.
Copy and paste works fine with other versions of inventor or autocad, but i can't use 2013 inventor for pasting.
When i attempt to paste the linework into my 2013 inventor sketch i recieve a long hefty error message:
"String resource could not be loaded (and is missing?) for id 5239 (error 2fee34a0)"

Dec 3, 2012I recently downloaded a .SAT part from 3dcontentcentral.com and i would like to use it in an assembly i am creating. Problem is, once i pulled it into Inventor, I am unable to edit the part to match the dimensions necessary for my assembly. How do i go about editing this part? Is there a way that i can copy the components of the part and paste into a new drawing, save as a normal part, then edit? I have attached a screenshop of the part so you can see the Model tree.
p.s. I would simply redraw the part, however i am having a lot of difficulty getting it to look as i want it to.

Feb 6, 2013Using RMB to Copy a general table from one drawing & RMB paste to another has no result.
But using the CTRL + C & CTRL + V for the identical task works fine.
Looks like a bug. It's annoying at worst but hopefully easy for programmers to fix.

Nov 5, 2013I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.

Nov 10, 2011I have two questions - one simple and one more complex, in my opinion. As of now I have a user form where one can enter a variety of values, hit a button, and it writes these values to a designated excel sheet. My first question is how would I be able to allow the user to change one value and have the rest of the entered values change based on this one value. For example if someone were to change the ID # of a part then the height and width would change corresponding to that ID number and would be displayed in the user form. I'm new to VBA so my thought process is kind of trash at the moment...
My second question is whether or not it is possible to write a vba program/macro that automatically utilizes iLogic Design Copy and makes copies of an assembly and continues to copy said assembly while adding a constantly increasing suffix ie -01, -02, -03... for a given number of times.

Dec 18, 2013I have an assembly that I am working on that will be used as a configurator, driven by I-logic. Everything is work fine but there is one part off the assembly that will be custom to each new assembly. Is there a way to use I logic to open the ipt file save it as copy with different name and replace the original in the assembly. I know this can be done manual through the productivity tab within the assembly environment, but I am trying to automate the process so the end user will just have to follow prompts that will be given by i-logic.

Feb 13, 2012I have a iLogic assembly with some parts and sub assembly. I need to do a copy of this " Generator " to apply the result later in other assemblies. (something like a member of a ipart or i assembly).
Is there any way to do the copy the assembly to a new folder without the suppressed parts and subassemblies (wich are suppressed in the initial main assembly by iLogic rules)?
I tried to use "Pack and go" and "iLogic design copy", but they always bring the suppressed parts and assembly's, to the new folder and which i don't need to apply in the other assemblies.

Aug 11, 2011I'm finally wrapping up work on an iLogic Configurator project and have started to brainstorm the best workflow to get this "Smart Assembly" into the design group's hands. I had been anxiously awaiting the new "iLogic Design Copy" feature in IV2012, but just recently learned that users are unable to effectively rename any components with this command.
Is this really true? If we can add prefixes or suffixes, what's stopping us from changing the entire filename? We haven't upgraded to 2012 yet, but it seems like this may be a silly and unjustifiable restriction to a command that would otherwise save our designers hours of "file-management" (ie, manually renaming parts in Explorer, component replace in assy's, replace references in idw's, etc) each week.
Long story short, it seems that every workflow I've come across has had some sort of silly limitation that makes it undesireable for my application:
My top-level assembly contains all of the rules, and changes parameter values in the referenced skeletal parts. It also swaps standard parts for other standard parts as needed.I need access to rename ALL files (idw's, top-level assembly, subassemblies, and base components) while still maintaining/updating all internal hyperlinks between them.iLogic rules must be carried over to the new copied components (the existing "Copy Assembly" command strips the assembly of all rules). In light of the iLogic Design Copy's apparent shortcomings, any better workflow?

May 2, 2012I have autocad lt 2009, previously when I wanted to trace a drawing I would go to paint, copy the drawing and then paste it in autocad on one layer and do the drawing on another layer worked great, But now when I do the same process it doesn't work.....previously I could draw on the image, could edit the lines, copy, erase, move etc. But now when do this if I have to copy a line I select copy and when I click on the line I want to copy the jpg drawing goes away, or if I try to erase a line the drawing will get deleted, Do I need to uninstall autocad and reinstall?

May 20, 2011When using the Clipboard to move entities from one drawing to another I need to open the window Tools; Options; and that's it for the Paste as Block and Paste Options to be available. What I mean is do I need to do this with each new session of LT? That I will need to check out. I tried my Template and it allowed Paste without going to the Options Dialog in the same session.

Nov 21, 2006I'm using Autocad 2002.
I am having trouble copying out of a drawing (model space) which i received from someone else, and pasting into my own. The properties on the original dwg file suggest it was created Sept 2001. It appears to copy OK (copyclip/copybase), but when i jump into my file and try to paste, the command line just reads:
_pasteclip
and nothing appears in my model space.
I've tried zooming extents, exploding the original, changing layers and line types etc into the same as in my own dwg. I've also tried to convert/save the dwg file into dxf's and other version dwg's....without success.
I have about half a dozen drawings received from the same source, and they all let you copy data into them, but won't let you copy/cut out.
