I keep getting a message that "folders and files cannot be saved when AutoDesk 360 is not running. Start AutoDesk 360 and try again"
I look up on my menu bar and notice: Aguirre64 (my AutoDesk User ID) is on. WHy do I get the message when I am clearly logged on?
Today everytime I save a file this message comes up "Folders and files cannot be saved when Autodesk 360 is not running. Start Autodesk 360 and try again"
Why is this showing up all of a sudden and how do I get rid of it or start Autodesk 360.
Deleting temp files, if I can just do a blanket Erase, or will this potentially damage autocad drawings. My temp file is on my local drive, but all of our drawings are stored on a network drive. It seems to me I remember these things storing up over time with crashes, etc. But as they build up performance seems to dwindle.
These files range from .tmp files to Texture folders, .cvr files, and nonsense names like A$C5DCD5F31.Can I just window and Delete All?
Any way to stop autodesk 360 from creating a new drive path on my computer when I save drawings from Autocad Civil 3d. I am using Civil 3d 2013. This only occurs when I save files from Civil 3d. The files are being saved onto a separate server from the computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOne of our users, lets call him USER1, has recently received the following message when attempting to save an assembly:
"A later version of this file has been saved by USER1. Saving the file would overwrite changes which is not allowed. If you wish to preserve your changes, use the Save Copy As command."
To get to this error message, our user opens an IDW, then the IAM linked to that drawing. Changes made in the IAM are changing bolt lengths, adding fasteners from content center, things like that. After saving inside the IAM this message appears. There are multiple users on our network; but only this user is working the assembly in question when the message appears?
what makes this message appear, and how it can be avoided?
When I try to move folders or pix selected individually between my hard drive and external drive withing Lightroom 5 an error message pops up unable to copy to destination...

Is there an automated backup for files that are not saved a single time? I have set automaticly backup every 5 minutes, but that seams only to work on files u have saved at least one time.
Did i just lost my whole work because automatic backup system is not activated on new files that are not saved yet?
Deleting files and saving files brings up an error message. Files can't be deleted from lightroom which makes editing a nightmare. Also Saving Files (raw of jpeg), brings up an error message everytime.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time we have the file dialog boxes open and try renaming or any other explore action beyond changing folder location and hitting the save button AutoCAD LT will hang and crash. We have tried starting the file operation and then just canceling and it does the same exact thing. What happens most of the time is the user will be working on a file and need to save it. They click save as and will go into the folder and right click and rename an existing file to a backup name and then hit save. It proceeds to crash instantly and the document doesn't get saved. It doesn't seem to matter the name of the file or folders or if it is a rename or delete operation. It seems to be related to bring up the explorer options within AutoCad honestly. All of our computers do the same thing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been creating my shortcut folders in the folder for my project drawings. So for project A, the shortcut folder is in Ashortcuts. The reason for doing this was to make it more intuitive for finding the shortcuts down the road and to avoid having project components located outside of the parent folder.
The problem is it is becoming a nuisance to browse to the project folder to set the working folder whenever I need to switch projects. I'm now considering consolidating all the shortcut folders into a main C3D projects folder (the way C3D was set up to work), though I'm not liking having to resort to redundant folders. For now it seems the lessor of the 2 evils.
I'd like to know what procedure to follow to make this work and what problems I'll encounter. I don't have a lot of projects at this time (maybe 20).
P.S. One of the big downsides to having the shortcuts stored outside of the project folder is when the project gets archived. Unless special precautions are taken, the shortcuts will be overlooked in the archiving process.
The computer at work is saving the 'old version' files in the parent folder instead of the old versions sub-folder. Where is the setting for changing this?

I have recently upgraded to Autocad Mechanical 2009 and have created a range of "Generic" type arrangements and saved them as DWG files.
I then insert the "Generic" arrangements by using the "Insert block" feature and selecting the saved DWG file.
When I try using the explode feature, it disappears all together. I try zooming extends and nothing is there!
Autocad is saving files to the Temp folder. I like to keep that folder nice and clean. My question is: which file location in the options dialog box that controls that issue?

For example, if I try to open a drawing or attach an xref I select the drive and can see the folders in it but can not open any. I have no problem opening these folders through windows explorer so I do not think it is a permission issue. I am the only one in the office running 64bit on windows 7 (everyone else is on xp) We are using Civil 3D 2010.

I've figured out how to set Survey Database and Pipe Network Parts Catalog paths. It seems there should be some general configuration settings dialogue for all these paths somewhere. Is there? If not, is there a list of commands for configuring all the path settings?

How can I locate the Data Shortcuts Working folder? A surface exist as a data shortcut in a dwg, but the location of the data shortcut folder is unknown and therefore cannot be set in the Prospector.

C3D still sees the original folders and names after deleting or renaming them using Windows Explorer.

my co-worker can not setup his drawing's data shortcuts. So, we tried to set the working folder. He has no real options for working folders. There is only one project folder showing for him. how to get all of the project folders to display in the set working folder dialogue so we can select the correct project, then select the correct data shortcuts. He is using C3D 2012 on a windows 7 64 bit machine. His folders have black arrows instead of plus signs. I've attached a picture. The Monterey Projects folder should display several hundred project sub folders and you can see we only have the one folder of 2916.

I'm having an issue with my 2013LT. Everytime I open a new drawing I get a dialog box that says "One or more SHX files are missing. What do you want to do?" The options they give me are "Specify a replacement for each SHX file" or "Ignore and continue".

I´m using the Autocad Civil 3D 2013 and this just happens in one specific file.
Alright, I'm not actually trying to do customization, I have a client that cannot save his drawing and have be in a "Saved" state. When creating a data shortcut, after saving the file (and doing nothing else, I watched), he is unable to create the shortcut because the drawing needs to be saved. Another example, when doing an e-transmit it tells him that the drawing hasn't been saved and if he wants to save the file. He clicks YES and then it tells him the drawing hasn't been saved and asks him if he wants to save it.
It seems to be isolated to this file. If he works in a different file, it works just fine. Also, I had him send me the files (via e-transmit) and I was not able to replicate the problem so, it seems to have something to do with this particular file on his system.
My question then is, can something be embedded into the file that will cause something to happen directly after a save (like a reactor)?He's using Civil 3D 2012 but I don't think it's anything directly related to Civil 3D.
I am running Civil3D 2011 on Windows 64 machine and am wondering how I go about setting up multiple working folders when using data shortcuts. I have two different projects I am working on, for which I set up surface data shortcuts, but the 2nd one I set up over-wrote the 1st folder and so now that surface is not properly shortcutted into that project. how to set this up, for I am new to the whole shortcutting game?

I've been getting this fatal error message upon opening files.
It seems to be as I try to load x-ref's.
I am experiencing a problem where my Autosnap Settings (system variable "autosnap") are not be saved in my Civil 3D session. When I open Civil 3D 09 (SP1), my autosnap variable gets set to some weird number (aka 6768 or -12566). Each time I get into the drawing I need to reset this to 55, or go into my Options-Drafting-Autosnap Settings and toggle on Marker, Magnet, and Display Autosnap tooltip. This is a system variable and should be retained upon entering a drawing file.

What I have is a nice production drawing, that has NEVER even been opened in C3D2013. I JUST finished adding labels for some new pipes and structures that are in an Xref. I saved the drawing and closed it to work on a different project while plotting. In SSM, I select the sheets to Publish, the first 4 plot without issue, then I get a CER without a Fatal Error...I can still work on the nbow current drawing...it appears that SSM crashed while loading the aforementioned sheet I had been working on.I close everything down, restart C3D2012, open the same drawing I had just labeled, says it needs to be recovered, so I let it finish loading (I've found that stopping the load will almost always cause C3D to hang indefinitely), close that drawing, then run recover, finds 2 errors, allow to fix, am greeted with the message box "This drawing has been saved by a newer version of C3D. All C3D commands are disabled in this drawing."
Wait a dang minute, SSM crashes and somehow (the save time is still the same as when i manually saved it in 2012) saves it as a C3D2013 file...even though it is still opening as a 2010dwg format file? Opening the file in Notepad even shows it was last saved in 2012.
I got the first attached message regarding UNDO command which I ignored. The second attached message then came and my UNDO command was frozen. I lost a lot of work done after I have shut down and restarted my computer.
Who knows what I should have done after the first or the second message?
I get the attached when opening certain drawings which fails to load my acaddoc.lsp and so several useful lisps don't get loaded.

Having trouble with my lisp routine to read from a directory which includes several folders. There is no problem when the files are all mixed in the directory but when dealing with hundreds of files, it makes sense to organize files by types.
Using (ade_aliasadd "BASE" "S:\") and there is no problems when the files are actually there and not in a subfolder called APN_DWG or EAS_DWG. Should I be setting up the environment differently and if so how?
I'm trying to customise my drawing templates to keep them up to date and also include accountability.I seem to be having trouble in including the name of the person who has last saved the model, and the date the model was last saved.
Manually including this information isn't ideal as people will forget, and it makes it harder to trace revisions.I can't see anywhere on the iProperties where the 'Last saved by' feature is available, but I thought maybe the information could be pulled from the username from the application options?
The last saved date should be easy, as there is a modified date in the model's iproperties; however, I cannot pull this information.I have used other cad packages in the past and this was never an issue. With all the customisation of Inventor, I thought this would be relatively straight forward.
