AutoCAD Inventor :: Possible To Retrieve Information Of Reference In Iam File Without Open File In Session
Oct 30, 2012is possible to retrieve the information of the reference in the iam file without open the file in session ? Opening with notepad the iam file, at the end of file, the references is contains in the planar text.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: File Name And Path Change With Shortcuts
Apr 25, 2012Have existing hotel site plan project folder and I copied it to new location and renamed folder and file names I have a grading plan that has spot elevations from data shortcut referenced surface. Is there a way to reference the new revised surface, that has same name and have the elevations update with the new surface and then delete the original referenced surface.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Macro File Not Found At Original Path Specified In Subassembly
May 4, 2008I just opened my corridor drawing for the first time in 2009 and was greeted by this error:
Macro file not found at original path specified in subassembly. Updated macro file location to path defined by AECCCONTENT_DIR environment variable.
I'm not familiar with the maco file and the only post I found relating to this said the AECCCONTENT_DIR environment variable was abandoned in 2007.

Sep 18, 2013I need to update both the path and the Source file name in Data Shortcuts editor. If I update the path, it looks in the new path for the old file name, and throws an error. If I update the File name, it looks in the old path for the new file name, and throws the same error.

Oct 28, 2013Photoshop Elements 12 opens with the top portion of the window not available on my Mavericks desktop. Without access to the top bar of the window I'm unable to reposition the window. Rebooting the computer and re-starting the program doesn't reset its position. The top of the window is not visible on a secondary monitor either.

Revit :: 2014 - Printing Visible Portion Of Current Window?
Jun 11, 2013I have had numerous problems trying to print from 2014 using the setting "Visible portion of current window". This feature was never that good, anyway, but now it seems to be WAY worse. I'm spending 5-10 minutes to just send something to the printer that should only take 5 seconds.
See the attached images of what I see on screen, the print dialog boxes and then what I actually get. The "Center" option doesn't function properly and now I must manually adjust the margins to print what I see on the screen.
Photoshop Elements :: Transparent Window To Make Desktop Visible

On PE 9 there was a way to make the window (area within tool/layer/toolbar frame) transparent so the desktop would be visible. Can this be done for PE 11? The default is gray and I can't find any setting to make it transparent.
GIMP :: Delete Leftovers Outside Visible Work Path?
Jan 9, 2014Is it possible to delete/clear contents outside visible work path easy way?
Sometimes when you create stuff, move stuff, import and cut images something is left outside visible work path. For example, in Adobe Photoshop it could be easily deleted with select tool + delete. Even non visible leftovers that is outside work area.
I started using Gimp yesterday and sure some things are SO irritating after long use of other image editing softwares.. I just can not figure out how people get used to it (Gimp).
Long way would be to move layer contents so you could see those "leftovers" and then it allows you to select them and delete. Then move back image where it was previously. But even after deleting those lefovers why the hell GIMP would select layer size according to "what it was at first" not what's acual dimensions of non transparent area?

I don't really want to artificially recreate the lead grid design and wondered what's the best technique (masking or otherwise) to preserve this detail? I am considering clone stamp, intelligent fill, masking etc. but first I need to create a source of the grid to use.
AutoCad :: How To Display Full Drawing Path In Window Header
Feb 5, 2013A co-worker asked how to display the full drawing path in the window header. He said that it used to, now doesn't. I have never seen the full path of the drawing in the header before. Mine just says "AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 (Drawing File Name) [Project Folder]"
I checked in Options, but didn't see anything.

May 28, 2013I have a coworker who is converting a Civil 3D drawing down to "plain" AutoCAD.
In the orignal drawing, there are wipeout frames that are turned off, but when you open the converted drawing, they are turned ON.
Is there anyway to ensure the frames will be turned off in the converted drawing without having to open the drawing? I have a theory that the AECTOACAD command must use a particular template file when converting the drawing down, and that it would be a simple matter of making sure the frames are OFF.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Pipe Network Parts Not Visible
Nov 27, 2012I have a user having an issue with drawing pipe networks. When they draw the pipe, the structure is not visible. A label shows up, and the structure can be found in the prospector, but is not editable in the plan view (see attached image).
I have a feeling it may be an issue with our pipe networks parts list and pipe catalog location. We have found an issue with our install that defaluts our pipes catalog to our local drives, but our parts list were created using a network drive. Several users have had an issue creating pipe networks when this has happened. However once we switched the pipe catalog to the netowrk drive the issue was resolved.
When we changed the pipe catalog location, it did not resolve the issues.FYI - I have tried the basics (layers on/thawed, pipe structure style layers on/thawed, audit and purge).We are using Civil 3D '09.

Jul 3, 2012I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and Adobe X Pro. When I print to PDF (using plotter DWG to PDF) the hatching for the slopes analysis does not show up. I have other hatching in the plan and that shows up, along with the outline for the slopes. Its just the actually slope hatching that doesn't show up.

Jul 15, 2013I just had C3D 2013 reinstalled on my LT and having a surface visibility issue. This may be just a command setting issue but I have a surface and created it on a particular layer that I can't make invisible.
Then I turned that layer off so I could work on other things. Now when I do a REGEN that surface becomes visible in my drawing yet the layer identified in its properties is turned off.
If I got to VIEW and ORBIT the surface disappears until I stop rotating then it’s visible again. I like to control visibility by turning layers on or off but this isn’t allowing me to turn it off.
If I make the surface layer current and do a rebuild the surface moves back to that layer and I can then turn that layer off to make the surface invisible.
Why is this surface visible when its layer is turned off?

I Xref'd this drawing into another drawing and the contour labels do not show up, so i have to re-create the contour labels.

May 22, 2012I've created a surface using Civil 3D 2013. I made a boundary around the perimeter of the site and I've also made some boundaries inside the site where there are no survey points. I assigned "Hide" to these boundaries when I made them in order to not have contours projecting into these areas.
However, with the exception of one of the inner boundaries, some contours are showing up inside the boundaries as well as partial contours. Why are the contours visible and how do I stop them from showing up?

Jul 16, 2012I am working on a project that contains a main road with on both sides a bike path. From each of these thins I made a profile, alignment, etc. I made one assembly with two assembly offsets, each on one side of my main road. So far everything is going very well, but here comes my problem.
The two bike paths assembly (these are assembly offsets) I want to connect to my road assembly. I found some information about a "marked point" and the "Linktomarkedpoint" assembly. I placed the marked point on my edge of the road and placed the linktomarkedpoint on my bike path. Rebuilding my corridor and when I took a look in my sections, the line between the bike path and road ain't visible. I gave the marked point an unique name and the linktomarkedpoint I gave the same name as my marked point.

Jan 7, 2013I am trying to make my contour labels visible, indepently of the Visible status of the contours in the surface style of the original surface that I am working on. I have to do this due the final topo looks strange in the borders so I am displaying another contours -that do not have elevation- and make look the drawing better. The problem is that if I turn off the Visible property of the contours, the labels turn off even that they were created in a different layer and attached to a label style with its own layer property.

Aug 18, 2013Is it possible to have point label styles (or any other label styles) that only show up or print at specified scales?
If you have several view ports at different scales but showing the same area you may want to show more detail in one than another. Can annotative text be used in this way.
I know this can be controlled by having different label styles assiged to different layers and using layer manager to control what is visable, but I would like a more automatic way of doing it. Or having layers only visible or print at specified scales?

AutoCAD LT :: Layer State File Not Visible When Importing
Aug 26, 2013 I have several .dwg files from an architect each with several hundred layers. I set up a Layer State in one drawing with just the layers I need. I want to use the same Layer State in the other drawings. I opened the Layer States Manager, selected my layer state, and clicked export, selected a location and closed the window.
I double checked in the file manager in Windows 7 that the .las file was where I had exported it. Then I opened the next .dwg, opened Layer States Manager, navigated to the file location and the .las file does not show up.
When I go back to the original drawing and click Import, the .las file is not visible either, but it is if I click Export.I am working on drawings on my hard drive not a network, and saving the .las file to my hard drive.
