Photoshop :: CS2 - Layers Window Won't Stay Open?
Jul 22, 2012I've been using CS2 Photoshop 9 for some time on an iMac running 10.4.11. all of a sudden, the Layers window will not stay open. It'll open with F7 but as soon as I click on the image I'm working on, the Layers window closes! All the other windows seem to work OK. Did I mistakenly hit something to cause this to happen? It's almost like an automatic window closer.

May 20, 2013I recently ran into an issue where Photoshop was freezing (URL ..... - my issue starts at reply #4) and in order to solve it, I had to open Photoshop by pressing CTRL + ALT + SHIFT, which deletes all preferences. Now that I can open Photoshop, I can't toggle into the different screen modes. The F key doesn't do anything anymore and the options on the toolbar are disabled. I can only choose Standard Screen mode.
What's wrong and how can I fix this so I can work in full-screen mode again? I am on a MacBook Pro using the latest version of Photoshop CS6 from Creative Cloud.

1.) Sometimes when I open a file I can't see it, BUT I can see the layers in the layers palette. It's like the file is open but not visible.
2.) Sometimes the screen modes don't work; when I switch modes, all the palettes disappear and never re-appear properly.
Turning OpenGL on (or off!) occasionally fixes problem 1.Restarting the computer fixes problem 2, sometimes...

The flames' layer has a black background an its blending mode is Screen. I'd like to export the whole thing as a PNG file where the 'hole' in the paper should be transparent (with the overlapping flames still visible). The problem is, when I remove the red background layer, the hole becomes black (because of the black in the flames' layer).

Mar 10, 2009While using Photoshop CS4 Extended version 11.0.1, whenever I change Screen Modes, it causes the color of all photos to display improperly. The pictures become very dull and gray. Even the whitest whites (255/255/255) appear to be a dull gray, as if a black layer set to 30% opacity is placed in front of the picture. The color still displays properly in the thumbnails of the Layers Panel.
Every picture I have open is affected in this way. Closing the pictures and reopening them does not help. Any new pictures I open are also affected. Changing back to the original screen mode does not fix the problem. The only thing that fixes the problem is closing Photoshop altogether, and then restarting it.
It doesnt matter how I change Screen Modes, whether I change it from the Screen Menu, the Applications Bar, or cycle through the modes using the F key. Even hitting the Tab key to hide the panels causes this to happen. Being a long-time Photoshop user, I have long been in the habit of cycling through screen modes frequently, so suggesting I not cycle through Screen Modes isnt an option because itll take months to break me of the habit.
Photoshop :: How To Get Info Window To Stay Open During Entire Action
Oct 29, 2012In creating an action that will be passed on to others I'm looking for a way to include a 'help window' that can be left open (with additional info they will want to refer to) until the user is finished with the action.
The 'stop' segment within an action does not contain enough space and closes when the user continues to the next segment of the action. I'm trying to figure out how to get an 'info window' to stay open during the entire action- if the user needs to refer back to it.
Photoshop :: Converting Screen Layer Blend Modes To CMYK
Mar 21, 2012I've created some graphic artwork in Photoshop RGB, and now its time to output these graphics to an Illustrator CMYK file.
I have a bunch of layers that I have created for lens flares / light effects and I created these via filling a layer black and then using the Lens Flare Filter and then converting the layer to a Screen layer blend.
I notice that when I convert to CMYK in photoshop I lose the effect of those screen layers, is there anyway I can get those layers to look the same in CMYK without having recreate them from scratch in the CMYK space?
In my illustrator file I have a gradient background and was hoping to bring in these transparent lens flare lighting effects to place over the top of the gradient. I was thinking I might be able to merge the layers in Photoshop but unfortunately I need those screen layers to remain transparent.
I also tried turning the layer to normal 100%, convert to CMYK, placing into my CMYK illustrator file and then changing the layer to screen mode there but its doesnt look the same, its turn transparent like I wanted but it looks like where there is transparency there is a 25% opacity white.

Aug 31, 2012In CS6, full screen mode, the image keeps moving up, down or to the side if my cursor gets too close to the edge of the screen. sometimes I'm not even at the edge of the screen but in the middle of the screen, I move the cursor right, the document goes to the left. In the old days the window stayed put unless you used the handtool to move it around. Is it possible to go back to this mode?

May 19, 2012If I'm editing an image and I click the toolbox (or, say, the docked layers dialogue), if I hover my cursor back over the image and press and hold spacebar so I can scroll around the image, currently I have to click within the image window before it registers my keystroke.
The more intuitive behavior and what I want to be able to do is just hover my mouse cursor over a window and and keystrokes or scrolling I perform happen within that window. This currently happens if I scroll using my mouse scroll wheel, but not with keystrokes.
I'm using single window mode in Gimp 2.8, though I've also experienced this issue in non-single window mode when using Gimp 2.6.
Photoshop Elements :: Get Top Bar Of Window To Be Visible On Mavericks Desktop?
Oct 28, 2013Photoshop Elements 12 opens with the top portion of the window not available on my Mavericks desktop. Without access to the top bar of the window I'm unable to reposition the window. Rebooting the computer and re-starting the program doesn't reset its position. The top of the window is not visible on a secondary monitor either.

Lightroom :: Image On Screen Changing When Switch Between Library And Develop Modules?
Jul 6, 2012I've noticed in the past couple of days that I will be refining an image in the develop module, feel I've gotten it the way I want it to look, and then switch back to the library module to export. When I do so, I notice the colors are quite different than they were just a second ago in the develop module. When I switch back to the develop module, it goes back to the way it looked in the develop module. How might I fix this?

Jun 11, 2013I have had numerous problems trying to print from 2014 using the setting "Visible portion of current window". This feature was never that good, anyway, but now it seems to be WAY worse. I'm spending 5-10 minutes to just send something to the printer that should only take 5 seconds.
See the attached images of what I see on screen, the print dialog boxes and then what I actually get. The "Center" option doesn't function properly and now I must manually adjust the margins to print what I see on the screen.

Nov 3, 2012I’m a 3DS Max transfer. In 3DS Max there is an option to open an image file for modeling reference in a separate window within Max which always stays on top. This is NOT an image plane to model off of but an IMAGE FILE, a picture i can get the details from that don’t show in a drawing or plane. Currently I open images or groups of images(NOT SEQUENCES) in the default OS file viewer program. This is fine with a dual monitor setup, where I throw the reference images to the other screen. But what about when I’m on my laptop on the go or have no other monitor? Currently I’d have to open the same program, have it underneath MAYA and flip back and forth, which is a very big hassle over time. I’d like to be able to open a small, resizable window WITHIN maya and view the image file(or files!) there so I can move it around my workspace and glance over to it in an instant.
I still want my four panels or all of my panel space to work with. With it being resizable i can even shrink it down to get the gist in the upper right corner where no icons are even zoom in on parts with such a small window.
Photoshop :: Black Window On Second Screen In CS6
Feb 18, 2013Ive booted my computer up and started Photoshop. i use a second screen, its installed automatically on Mac OSX 1.8. Now, when i drag the file to th second screen, it appears to become black. if i drag it back to my Home-Screen, the content appears. Resizing don't change anything as well as disable the graphic processor on Photoshop.
A second restart solves the issue. but i don't want to restart my machine every time when i work on Photoshop.
Corel PHOTO-PAINT X6 :: Pixels Visible Only On Screen?
May 2, 2013My problem is that when I fill something with solid colour, there are pixels shown on the screen. When I save the PCX and open it in an older version of Photo-Paint the pixels are not there.
What am I doing wrong or how could I avoid this. There are no options activated as error diffusion...
We print entrance mats and have a fix palette of 44 colours and need PCX files for the machine.
Check the screenshot: space is filled with one colour but on the lower half there are pixels/dots which should not be there...
Revit :: 2013 Lines Not Visible On Screen Or Printed
Mar 25, 2013Just upgraded to REVIT 2013 and now many types of lines are not visible on screen- randomly it seems. Also, sometimes they don't print, either. I've tried increasing the fineness of the view, changing the material definitions, etc. Most often this is happenning when I have opened an old file and had it automatically update the file. Also, it seems to happen within asurface texture, but it is not limited to that circumstance.

Nov 8, 2012My copy of PS CS6 has problems sizing the document window. In Standard Screen mode it does not enlarge the window to fit the screen.
In Full Screen Mode (with and without Menu Bar) it will not size the image to fit the screen. The gray area extends way below the bottom of the display and does not have the bar containing size percentage and other information at the bottom.
I have the impression Photoshop does not read the display's size information and therefore doesn't know what to do. It's an Apple Cinamea 23" display. ATI Radeon HD 4870 video card. OS X 10.6.8.

- Why? I work on two levels frequently - manipulating details, command-0 for checking the whole, and then zooming back into details. Command+0 resizes and repositions my window disregarding my specific window layout. Fullscreen is sadly no option, i usually work on multiple windows side by side specificly arranged.
Photoshop :: CS 5.1 - Window Does Not Open To Full Screen?
Apr 20, 2012I recently installed / upgraded to CS5.1, set up all my preferences, keyboard shortcuts, presets, plugins. All worked fine, day in - day out, for the last three weeks. About three days ago this anomaly appeared...
When I zoom in (cmd +/), the window will resize, but only part way. The window will move over flush right on the monitor, but leave about one inch of space between the window and the left side of the monitor, and increase in size until it fits aprox 2/3rds of the monitor / screen. It stops enlarging and leaves about 3 inches of space between the window and the bottom of the screen. At that point I get scroll bars. So I end up with a much smaller window to work in.
I can grab the bottom right corner of the window, pull it open to fill the screen, but as soon as I go to zoom in or out, the window jumps back to the smaller size with the gap on the left side and bottom.
Option bar is "Standard Screen Mode"
All my pallets are on a separate monitor, so nothing else is on my main monitor that would limit the size of my window as I zoom in.
My preferences are set to:
• Zoom Resizes Windows
• Enable Flick Panning (works fine)
• Animated Zoom
OS 10.5x
10GB ram
I don't know if I inadvertently changed something to cause this.

Nov 23, 2013My Elements 10 window is to big for my monitor screen and there seems to be no way that I can make it smaller. I cannot see the green x and I cannot click and drag the window. I am using a MAC computer.
