I have installed Trimble Link for Civil3D 2010 and the menu will not appear in Civil3D anywhere.I re-installed it 2 times, which sucessfully completes, but to no avail.I checked cui and it's not there to add either.

I am using Civil 3D 2014. When click any of the buttons in the Trimble Link Ribbon, I get the following message:
TRMBIMPORTDATA Unknown command "TRMBIMPORTDATA (Or whatever command that had been issued)". Press F1 for help.
Another user in our office has everything in the Trimble Link work fine. We have tried upping my status to administrator for my computer, and that didn't work. When I installed CIvil 3D, I checked every button to be installed in the infrastructure design suite package....
I'm trying to import a .job file from our Trimble R6 GPS with Trimble Access software. I save the drawing and select import job. I have a device setup so I can navigate to the .job file, so i select the .job file and it starts to convert it, then i get the following error:

If i hit retry it just keeps giving the same error, if i hit abort or ignore I get the following error:
"An error occurred during the file download. A required geoid model, datum grid or project grid file may not be available on this computer, or, This computer may need the "Update Office Software" option (from the Trimble Survey Controller CD) applied to it."
I've tried with Civil3D 2011 and 2012 both with Trimble Link installed for their respective versions. I have Trimble Business Center installed and updated along with Office Synchronizer. I went to Trimbles site and downloaded and installed all the update office software utilities in order in which they were released, the latest being April 2012. I tried uninstalling Trimble Link and reinstalling. I also downloaded and installed Trimble Office Configureation File Update Utility which last updated in August of 2012 and was suppose to update Trimble Link. I tried making a couple of test jobs on the data collector, some in state plane coordinates and some with no projection/no datum so a geoid file wouldnt be required, but they all return the same results. I've installed the geoid files on the collector using Trimble Link's Install Geoid and also added them to the Coordinate System Manager in Trimble Business Center.
I would like to convert using this utility because it gives azimuths and distances from our base receiver and I can use them to do adjustments after the job file has been converted to a fbk (fieldbook file).
I am looking for something to convert .job files to .fbk files. I have Trimble business center and AutoCAD C3D 2013.
I haven’t got them to work together yet. I am trying to upgrade from Trimble geo office, which makes perfect field book files but it won’t work on my new computer.
Trimble says TGO is obsolete and that it just doesn’t work on new computers but I can't see why not..
We're moving to Trimble Access on the survey data collectors which means that we have to export design data using Trimble Link and then use Trimble Business Center to examine the data and do any editing before sending it to the field.
So far I've found that alignments, profiles and surfaces seem to transfer OK. Corridors however have been an almost total failure.

Trimble Access, Civil 3d 2012 export road problem
when I export a road file to my TS2 it becomes corrupted (file size 50% of what it should be.
4 months ago there was no problem. The weird thing a is that the other worstation in the office has this issue to.
Here's what I have done to troubleshoot: swapped out both data collectorsexported this rxl file to a virtual instrument on my desktoptalked to cansel and autodesk but the said they haven't seen this problem. I can rule out the following.
trimble/autodesk software, hardware ( to much a coincidence that both work stations have this problem)Data Collectors swapped out - file size of the corrupted rxl were the same on the virtual deskto instrumentcorrupted dwg - exported a road six months ago, now re-exported and the new file is corrupted.

My surveyor gave me a Trimble .tsf point cloud file....how do I convert that dude to an AutoCAD .las file?

I have created the new Point UDP's and also Created a new Point File Format. Here lies the Problem, when I go to the Insert Tab in the Ribbon and pick import from XML. It gives me no choices to select a Point File Format? It just imports the file with just PNEZD data only, and not my additional Attributes.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe often have to create dxf files for surveyors to use in Trimble survey controllers. Usually, the linework has to be 3D polylines so that they can stake out the lines on the ground in 3D.
When compiling our design we often have to use arcs which do not function as 3D polylines. To get around this, we convert them to feature lines. This works for creating surfaces but we are unable to export these feature lines in our dxf files.

I was working on max using the hair a fur modifery to try and test out something when I noticed somethign strange. When I right clicked in the view port to bring up the options (exsample cut, convert to polygon, hide, fezze ect.) it wouldn't come up. Hears what I've tried. Reinstal max, get a copy of the default interface from a school computer and tried loading that, turning off windows 7 's background color transparancy, removing all things installed right before the problem, run a system check for errors, a viruse scan and right now I'm trying a full restore from a back up. I don't know what's going on. I suspected that my graphic's card drive might be the caulprate but I checked that as well and it says that its all clear. I took the files that had the problem to other computers and they had no issue. It doesn't matter what file I load either this is universal. I can start with a blank file and the right click view port menue won't come up.

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy default extensions that come with photoshop cs6 extended and also custom installed plug-ins won't appear when clicked on. Usually you see a checkmark by the plug-in if it is working and is visible on the photoshop layout as a panel. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, which the Kuler extension worked, but only under the workspace that I opened it up for. So for example, I opened it up on Essential workspace, but it wouldn't appear when changed to painting workspace. When I close the panel from the workspace, it won't ever come back up again even when clicked on under the extension drop-down menu on any workspace. This is occurring not just on my desktop, but also on my laptop. Both are not Photoshop CC, but regular Photoshop CS6.
I don't really mess around with the extensions much, but once I found out about the painters wheel plugin, I really wanted to try it out, hence now noticing this extension issue with my plug-in..All my plug-ins appear on the drop down menu for Windows > Extensions, so it shouldn't be a file placement problem. I have also tried the Adobe troubleshoot for plugins by uninstalling my plug-ins to see if third party plug-ins were the problem, but still my default plug-ins won't even work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to print the hypsometry but when I do it, the surface doesn't appear. The problem is the same with other types of elevations.
I checked the layers properties, but it doesn't seem to be the problem as all the layers are printables.
I can print the hypsometry in the model space.
I am working on creating a set of plans and have a couple of note pages that are generic and will not need to be change. I am creating a template with layers, layout tabs, styles, etc. I am trying to put these notes straight into a layout tab just simply by pasting them in there. The issue I am having is with the hatching on a couple of objects, the hatches appear correctly right off. When I save the drawing and reopen the hatches are a solid block, regen does not fix this. I can however explode the hatch and then undo the explode command and it appears correctly. Is there a way I can make the hatches appear correct everytime?

I have created a TIN surface from polyline contour data in Civil3D 2013. My file shows shows that the surface is present both in the Prospector and when I float over the surface and will preview. I assigned a style to the surface, which for my uses is displaying minors at 1' and majors at 10'. My problem is that the contours only display sometimes. That is to say, SOMETIMES I open the file and I can see the surface contours and other times it simply will not display them.
There has been NO change to the layer (on, visible and not frozen) nor to the style (not assigned as not showing or any different color) between current and the time I used the file last. Occasionally, when I restart my machine, the contours will display for a few hours worth of work, but when I return the next day, or after a hang, restart my machine again, the contours simply will not show. If I add "show triangles" in the style definition, the triangles will show every time, but not the contours.
I changed my RAM from 2- 4GB DIMMs to 2- 8GB DIMMS giving me a total of 16GB of RAM, which I did, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference in performance and the contours still don't show.
Ever since I got back to my desk after theEaster break I have had an odd problem witj C3d 2012.
The pop up names of the buttons along the bottom (snap, grid, osnap etc) are apparently now in Chinese. Tool tips for other tools are also containing a mixture f what appears to be Chines plus corrupted characters.
im using civil 3d 2012 when I click the DEFINE OBJECT DATA icon the dialog box is not appear I don't know if I did wrong on my software.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have have small gray shaded boxes showing up on drawings plotted in Civil 3D, they are never anywhere I can see in the drawing and they never show up in the print preview. I have tried using multiple printers and still get the same thing. I think it may have something to do with viewports as they only show up inside a viewport window when plotting from paperspace and don't show up when I plot from modelspace.
View 9 Replies View RelatedToday I opened a file that has previously worked perfectly well, only to find that when I open my surface in Object Viewer and begin to rotate it manually, the triangles making up the surface do not appear. I have the contour lines and border (what is enabled in the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab) although the triangles (which should be displayed as well) do not appear. Other surfaces show like they should.
Is there another option other than the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab and the VISUALSTYLES command?

I'm creating finished roadway profiles by setting the PVIs then going back and inserting vertical curves (Free Vertical Parabola, PVI Based). When I insert the vertical curve, it displays as 1-5 tangents depending on length (not a smooth parabola). I've changed the curve tessellation distance under the Edit Profile Style - Design tab, but it doesn't smooth it out. What am I missing here. I don't have this problem in other drawings and I'm using the same template/drawing settings.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have just spent 8 hours today trying to find a link that will vary target a poly line that i have set. i cant seem to find the link that will do what i need as per the attachemnt. the section between the edge of the foot path and the start of the fill/cut slope needs to be variable
i know how to set all the targets but this link seems to be a fixed length.
When I use link offset to surface and attach on left side, still extend to right. I am targeting a slope stake line polyline that exists on both sides of the roadway, works fine on right side. Documentation indicates that a negative offset value is needed to use to the left. How do I use negative value and target a polyline?

I am using the map connect command to import a geotiff file to NAD83 coordinates. After import, the image displays correctly at the correct location, however my xref manager indicates that the image file location is in my local app folder within the C drive on my computer even though I specified the target base file on our network server. I also noticed the map connect function converts the files to a png file.
Because the image link resides on my computer others cannot view the image when they open the drawing. I don't fully understand how the map connect function works, do I need to use the map insert command if I want the image to be hard linked into the drawing?
