Everytime I do a command where I have to select something, such as move, copy, etc., this pesky "selection" box comes up. This started just a couple of days ago and is annoying. What setting I need to change to get the box to go away?
View 4 RepliesIs there a way to be able to choose a desired feature line when extracting from a corridor? For example, when subgrade and finished grade are on top of each other, it seems subgrade is always coming as default for extraction. I'm not getting the option to select the desired point code as usual for some reason. The best way I found is by turning off the subgrade feature line from the corridor properties, which is a bit tedious.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe “window selection” selects only what appears on the screen! I wanted to select a page number located on the lower left corner of each title block of each drawing but found out that the “window selection” doesn’t keep selecting what doesn’t appear on the screen (if zoom in is applied)! For example, if I select a number of drawings and “zoom in” is applied then the window selection will only keep selecting what appears only on the screen!
Then how to let the “window selection” keep selecting all the objects regarding whether they appear on the screen or not?

Is there an easy way to do this, tabbing doesn't do it. I've always had trouble selecting a line buried under anothe one.

I have all of the object enablers loaded. This is the only file that keeps acting like this? This is from the subs, so it's not generated from Autodesk softwares. it's a converted DWG file.

I inserted the SD-card with 12 pictures (jpg and raw) into the card reader but on the LR3 screen I only saw 12 grey rectangles. However, I imported the 12 pictures into a folder on the PC. The rectangles remained gray. With other programes I can see and open the pictures. My camera is a LX5.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a titleblock block with a tiff image inserted signature. With imageframe set to 0, the frame is gone and the titleblock prints fine. When this titleblock is inserted into a drawng sheet and the drawing sheet is set to imageframe - 0. The frame around the signature is visible and it prints.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a selection in a picture, the selection dotted line shows a coloured border, which is the colour of the second choice in the Materials palette. Especially if I make an addition to the selection, this coloured line runs right through the selected figure. If I copy the selection, undo the selection and then paste as a new layer, the coloured border, especially in added areas, remains visible.
how I can get rid of this strange artifact? I didn't use to have it, it emerged a few days ago.

I'm using the line tool but when I drag to create a line the line appears but then when i click to create another line it disappears.
I use PS CS6 for Windows. When I select a layer by mean of Ctrl-Click on layers palette, selection edges is not shown. When I go to menu View > Show > Selection Edges i realize that option is disabled.

In AutoCAD 2000 I would hold down ctrl and select the line. Then scroll using the mouse pressing right click to select. I am currently using AutoCad2011. This function does not work.

Sometimes while I sketch(drawing lines fast) making dots, drawing things close to each other, a thick line jump from my dot or start point of drawing to some other point in the line. It's really annoying when you sketch something and suddenly and thick black line jumps across your drawing. Or when drawing dots close to each other, a line suddenly connects them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen using the patch tool, I make the selection, pick my area for it to patch from and it patches just fine. BUT, the area I selected to be patched is still staying selected with marching ants around it and I have to CTRL-D to deselect before I can patch another area.
Thought it de-selected on old machine and it's driving me crazy trying to retouch some jobs where the patch tool gets a real workout...Am running CS5 (12.1x64) on a new Windows 7 64 bit machine, using a Wacon Intous 4 w/latest drivers.

I am using Maya 2012. I am doing a tutorial for Maya 2011. It is directing me to do some selecting and transformation to my mesh using camera based selection. The tutorial says:
1. double click the selection tool icon in the toolbox. the tool settings editor appears.
2. In the common selection options selection underneath marquee, turn on camera based selection.
3. Right mouse click the mesh and select vertex from the marking menu. The vertices appear on the mesh.
4. While looking at the front of the mesh, select the vertices that need to me moved by holding the left mouse button at one corner dragging a marquee selection over them. the vertices should be selected.
I selected the “turn on camera based selection” in the selection icon toolbox settings editor. But I can’t select the veritces using a left mouse click bounding box or by selecting the vertices individually. The vertices just won’t highlight or select. If I want to select I have to turn off the camera based selection.
is there a way, that objects only inside the selection window or lassoed region get selected rather than objects getting selected which are partially inside the selection window?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAt this time, this is my biggest complaint with Civil 3D: My drawing has many layers and overlapping objects and it's necessary to use layer manager constantly. Therefore, I will only have layers on that I need at any given time. So I'm working on a corridor, and I create temporary alignment station/offset labels. I have a style whose layer is, let's say XYZ. In the drawing I'm on layer 0. I place the label, and it does not display.
After turning on all layers, and searching throught the congestion and finally locating my label. I click on it, and properties says it's on layer 0. My style says it's on layer XYZ, but by process of elimination, I find that it's on the layer of the alignment. I understand about default layers under "edit drawing settings", but do I have to change this everytime I create an object or text? I would love to be able to override the default layer.

everytime i use the selection tool it selects the entire canvas and not the image i want. why is doing this? how can i prevent this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I have a number of shapes on top of each other, with, for example, a drop shadow on the top shape, whenever I try and select the shape below it (it is peeking out from beneath the top shape, so I click on this 'peeking' section of the shape to try and select it) I cannot - it just selects the top shape as the top shape's drop shadow is 'blocking' the shape below it. Make sense?
How do I go about about remedying this? I seem to recall being able to tell Illustrator to ignore 'effects' when making selections in CS4, but cannot work out how to do this in CS5. And is there a way to refine the 'sensitivity' or selection radius when clicking to make selections?
I'm trying to get use to this quick selection tool , i have an image i need in the middle of the photo and all round the sides i want to whiten, the tool once draggin down either side selections all the picture no mater what setting i use,
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded to Civil 3d 2014 and have had a strange box show up after printing to PDF. We use Acroplot to print to PDF. Please see attachment. It has only happened to 3 users so far and one user's system stopped doing it.
Also experience a slow open and processing initially when you made the switch to 2014 (we upgraded from 2011 c3d). We suspect it may be a conversion of files causing this. Many of the xrefs or DS have not been saved in 2014.
What options do I have to remove 'busy' backgrounds from photographs?
Many of my pictures are taken at home and I want to focus upon the wife and kids, not the sofa or curtains.
I've tried the magic wand and select similar and I've tried the magnetic lasoo - whilst both are good, they're not quite there.
I went to use the clone stamp for the first time since installing CS4...it's become very, very weird! A strange squggly line around the brush and some strange visible area appearing under the brush itself whenever you move it anywhere. I don't mind changes but it seems like things get changed just for the sake of changeing them.

View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to select points in my vector shape (this one is selected), and I have other vector shape behind that one, I start dragging with Direct Selection Tool in order to select those two points, I got selected three points, two from first vector shape, and one more form shape that was behind and in the area where I was dragging selection. Also, now both vector shape become selected. Why is this happening if only one vector shape was selected?
I'm using Photoshop CC.
I have just aquired a copy of my great grandmother, unfortunatly it came from a newspaper or a magazine. However I would like to remove the halftoning and then later colorize it. The latter should be no problem as I've done tht before, but those pesky halftones have me stumped. I have tried using gaussian blur and unsharp mask but it looks a bit iffy if you know what I mean.
