AutoCAD .NET :: Get Coordinate Of X / Y / Z By Selecting A Line
Jul 3, 2012I'd like to get the coordinate of X, Y, Z by selecting a line using C#, is there any sample code or references.

View 3 RepliesIs there an easy way to do this, tabbing doesn't do it. I've always had trouble selecting a line buried under anothe one.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a new PC set up, and the user is trying to draw a line, starting from point 0,0,0. AutoCAD won't let him draw a line from that coordinate.
How do we get AutoCAD to draw from the BASE coordinate? Is there a new switch that's messing this up?
I would like to draw a line that is a specific length, lets say 16, that originates from a specific x,y location say 10,23, that terminates at exactly atleast the y coordinate 38. I don't care about the x or the angle.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAt center line I want to place a small perpendicular line in specific length and put their coordinate to excel sheet(export coordinates).
I have already two programs for this, one for placing objects on curve with specific length and 2nd for pick & export coordinates to excel or other type of file. but this is very lengthy process & need too big time. but I think it cab be done in a single command written in lisp.
I have drawn a black horizontal line 100mm long. Under that line a have a 100mm line coloured blue. How do I select the blue line? In AutoCAD 2000 I would hold down ctrl and select the line. Then scroll using the mouse pressing right click to select. I am currently using AutoCad2011. This function does not work.

Everytime I do a command where I have to select something, such as move, copy, etc., this pesky "selection" box comes up. This started just a couple of days ago and is annoying. What setting I need to change to get the box to go away?
View 4 Replies View RelatedLet's say you just have a simple black line in Gimp. You then use the color select tool to select it, and you plan on then converting that Selection into a single line Path.
From:
Into:
You select the line, but the Selection tool actually travels a loop around the line. So, when you turn that Selection into a Path, you do not have a single line, but you instead have a loop.
So my question is this: is there any mechanism for making your Selection in GIMP just a single line so that it can then be converted into a Path?
Originally, I was trying to achieve this in Inkscape (and started a thread about it in the Inkscape forum). However, it appears that, although other Vector Art programs can achieve this, Inkscape cannot. So I was thinking that I could instead use Paths in GIMP instead, but this is not possible because of the nature of Selections, as far as I can tell.
Here's an attempt to illustrate this request:
how do i get an image set in one coordinate system come into a drawing in another coordinate system?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe options window will not display when typing "options" in the command line or selecting from the drop down. The options menu has to be hidden somewhere because AutoCad will not allow any other commands after typing options until I hit escape. I have tried restarting CAD and rebooting my computer with not luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with a delay in selecting an object and selecting a command.
When I select an object the pointer has at least a 3 second delay before it starts moving around normally again. It is the same with selecting a command. This has started to get tedious. It has worked fine in the past so I don't think it is a RAM/graphics card problem.
I want to know how to transform OCS Coordinate of A block object to UCS or WCS Coordinate .
It's Block's OCS Coordinate not other objects.
OK, today, or actually just this afternoon I've noticed it has become much harder to select items with the mouse.
Points, nodes, etc...anything where you'd typically hover the mouse over the item and it highlights for you to select it.
For example, lets say you want to project a point from another sketch, or select the center node of a line, etc.
Never really had an issue until this afternoon where now it seems I have to be right on top of the item and I cannot budge one bit or it won't select it. It is now taking me numerous attempts to select things like points (zooming in does not work, points scale accordingly).
Is there a setting somewhere? I can't seem to find such under Tools>Application Options and the like.
How could I transform the following :

I have connected to some SRTM DEM data, but the resulting terrain and contours I generated are not showing properly. Specifically, the map area is stretched out of shape (too wide L & R). I seem to recall it had to do with setting the proper "define coordinate system" option for the file.
Im on a project including inserting an FAA sectional map and plotting new points on top of it. Im trying to setup the coordinate system right now before i import the data and i dont see an option that matches the map exactly. Im including the information from the metadata file included with the geotiff.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working in an office that uses AutoCAd 2004 LT. We often receive drawings from third parties that have Z co-ordinate information and as we are only using 2D it can cause a few problems when snapping to points.
I am inquiring if there is command or routine that can be incorporated into 2004 LT like the 'Flatten' command in 'Additional Tool' in full version of AutoCAD 2005 which converts all the Z values to 0.
Possible to easily get a coordinate string of a polygon?

I work in a manufacturing facility and we are trying to come up with a way to extract data from an AutoCAD file in to a .KML or .CSV file which gives coordinate points, etc.
This will be used in a mapping-type software to display/highlight areas of the plant with zooming capabilities and information shown on the left-side. We are trying to make it look something like Google Maps, so it can used to determine areas of the plant undergoing work, lighting zones, etc.
In a nutshell, I want to be able to extract coordinate data from our layout(s) which can used to pinpoint locations on the map and highlight regions, etc. Perhaps it could export data in to Excel with attributes assigned to the coordinates which give Area, Bay Location, etc. The initial thought was to somehow export this to a .KML file and use that as a starting point.
I have somehow managed to screw up my z coordinate. x & y are active, but z is set at zero.
I have tried Change and Flatten, but have had no luck.
When moving the cursor over the drawing, it moves freely and the precision of the coordinates are still working to 4 decimal places. However, when I pick an object to move or copy and then try to move or copy it, the coordinate precision settings are changing to 0 decimal places and I'm unable to move things to exactly where I want - I can only move on a mm by mm basis. How do I return the precision settings of the coordinates back to 4 decimal places so I can move / copy objects without the current constraint I'm experiencing?
