AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Navigation Cube Is Flipped Wrong Way
Jul 19, 2013My navcube is flipped around all funny like.My model is still oriented properly, everything still reads the right way, and the world ucs seems to be fine as well.

Nov 1, 2012I'm having an issue with draping a google earth image onto a surface that was imported at the same time. The image flips over and shrinks down into one corner. Not sure shat I'm doing wrong, if it's just a setup problem or an actual bug or something. I have the image attached.

Jul 3, 2013I have been using [URL] to download aerial images and then insert them into my drawing using mapiinsert. Usually they come in perfect, but sometimes they come in way off. In this case I downloaded image it came in way off. Then i used project base jump and in came in where it should, but the quality is not good enough for what i am trying to determine. so i downloaded an image from [URL]inserted it using mapiinsert. It came in once again way off, but i noticed it came in where the other image did. What am i missing. I do not fully understand how these images choose where they land. I understand there is a world file that gives them xy coordinates, but that is the end of my knowledge.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Surface Volume Is Wrong
Apr 22, 20121) when I try to find volume of a cube 1*1*1
c3d volume report is 0.03 c.meter why?
First I make surface1 and import the 4 point with elevation 0 sec. I make surface 2 and import 4 point with elevation 1 then itry to find volume of this cube and my result is 0.03 c.meter why this happen.
2) if this above method is wrong give me step by step guide of surface and volume.
3) how to find volume at particular level.?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Background Mask Gone Wrong?
Jun 24, 2013My background masks is displaying a border (which is not desired) and they are not masking the backound but instead are masking the text. What gives? (see attached)
This issue is specific to one drawing. It seems to effect all background masks regardless of style. They are set to use drawing background color. And border option is set to false in the label styles.
The last items I worked on in the last sesson where to create a corridor and an intersection.
Also, why the pen table is printing correctly that would work as well. The attached image was printed using a black/white pen file. Go figure.

AutoCad 2D :: How To Get A Drawing Flipped Round In Model Space
Jul 22, 2011I'm trying to get a drawing flipped round in model space so it fits more neatly in a viewport. I need to rotate the model space by about 45 degrees so that a line that looked about 45 degree slope up from left to right becomes a flat line.
I've been trying to use 'ucs' in the command line and then type the degree rotation as this is what it says in the help section but it doesnt do what i want. It asks for an origin point on the x-axis and then i dont know what this means.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Wrong Linetype For Point Marker?
Aug 14, 2013I have my layer set up as dashed linetype for lines. My point style marker is set up as continuous linetype. When I import the survey file it automatically draws the lines correctly, inserts the correct marker, and places them on the correct layer. But the marker is dashed as well and not continuous. Is something overriding this setting?

Apr 23, 2012When I create design points, they will not display until I thaw a layer that the survey points are on. I have double checked these settings: On Toolspace Settings tab, under Points-Commands-CreatePoints, Default Layer is "C-P-POINTS-TEMP". Default Style is set to Point Style=SPOTS-TEMP, and Point Label Style is set to TEMP-POINT#-ELEVATION-DESCRIPTION. When I check these styles, they are both set to the layer "C-P-POINTS-TEMP". Yet every point I create ends up on the layer "C-E-POINTS_FIELDWORK_11-14-11.

Aug 2, 2013I created an index for every grade break in my profile, and when I delete a PVI with geometry tools the numbering of this labels starts in the consecutive of the last one that the profile has. How can make this index numbering to keep starting at 1 when I delete one, instead of starting at the next to the last index label?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Data Band At Wrong Station
Jun 13, 2013A coworker who is no longer with us set up the data band styles & settings in our template, and they were working fine in 2011. Then, on a new job in 2011, I encountered this problem. I gave up.
Now I'm working in 2013. The template was brought forwards, so it's the same settings, and I'm hitting the same problem as before. The difference is this time I'm working on a really long profile, and I really really want the bands to work.
Here's the problem.
The ones I checked in blue are not part of the data band. They are profile view labels, and they show the correct stations.
The ones circled in red are the data band. As you can see I need to work on my gap settings, but that's not my problem. The problem is the location of these labels. There is indeed a PVI at station 1+165, but the label is 40m away from that station! I don't know where to start digging to find the setting to tell that label to move 40m to the right, and tell 1+135.86 to move 20m to the right.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Geolocation Aerial Map In Wrong Place
May 14, 2013I've been working on drawings (originally last year done in Civil 2013 with Geographic locations included) in 2014 and have found that when switching the Map Aerial on the location is very incorrect.
By using the Remove Location tool and assigning the Coordinate system via the Drawing Properties, the aerial Map is located perfectly...
Why it does this and haven't tried with other drawings in a different project to the one I'm workling on.

Nov 9, 2012I have a pipe network (data shortcut) showing in the profile.
The pipe network was designed from station 98+65 to 100+00.
But the first pipe (from station 98+65 to 99+30) is shown going from station 99+30 to 102+60.
The pipe has a lenght of about 65' and some how it is being projected incorrectly.
The profile is shown going from right to left.

Jul 2, 2012How to replicate this? Add a vertical link to an assembly and have it target a profile for the elevation. In the section editor, check out the parameters of the link and see if it reports the correct elevation. Here's a video of what I did, how to do it in your own drawing: [URL]

May 19, 2013I'm somewhat new to Civil 3D 2013 and have never encountered this problem before. I've got a top slope standard breakline (dark green line) and bottom slope standard breakline (light green line) with the highest elevation for the top slope at 72' and it gradually slopes down to about 54' within a 75' span. My problem, as you can see in the screen shot below, is I am getting 54'-59' elevation contours right next to a survey point with a 72' elevation whenever I hover my mouse over one of the contours. There are no nearby points with anything near 54' even outside of the surface boundary (shown in magenta).

Jul 12, 2013In civil 3d 2014 i need 2 sections (and a profile) all with different scales in the viewports (layout). Sizing of the labels and bands is all fine, only a text item is not updated. I need to display the scale (the number) for the current section (or profile), it works but the scale shown is always the scale from the model and not the scale from the viewport, so the different scaled sections all have the same text in the label, e.g 1:200, even if they are correctly scaled to different factors in defferent viewports.

Sep 17, 2013I am working on creating an alignment from a single polyline. The polyline, which was originally created in Carlson 2012, is a flat polyline that is about 1200 feet in length. When I select it with create alignment from object, it accepts it and seems to work. For some reason though, the stationing is way off --- e.g. the true 50' mark is showing up as 0+04.17 which results in an end station of 0+99.31 on a 1191' polyline.
edit> I also have tried this with a brand new polyline I created in civil3d, same issue.

When I use the open command in C3D the file date is incorrect for a file. I also have a explorer windows open and it shows the same file with the current date.
This file is located on my local hard drive. C3D shows 11/15/2013 for the date the actual date of the file is 11/26/2013. Even after a save it's still wrong. My isavepercent is set to 0 .

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Polyline To Feature Line Interpolates Wrong Data
Aug 29, 2013I have created a feture line from a 2d polyline.
I have NO weed appplied and as you can see there are two errors :
- some points on original surface (used to get Z) are not interpolated.
- the quick profile shows error : in addition to lacking points, others are bad interpolated.
(the image show both)
The surface used behaves rightly with feature lines created from aligments
(I have created an aligment from polyline and then a fetaure line from that and the Z interpolation are ok )

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Linetypes Display Wrong After Installing 2012 Update 2.1
Nov 27, 20124 days ago, I installed the 2012 Update 2.1.
Prior to that, the linetype as seen in the attached screen short displayed the same for both the alignment style (green) and the polyline (white). After 2.1, they display at different scales. Why? There now seems to be a problem with linetype scaling in the style definitions.
The same linetype is used in the alignment style as is assigned to the polyline. The scale is the same for both (in the alignment style definition and as assigned to the polyline).
The only thing that changed is that on Friday morning, I installed the update 2.1 and this is what things looked like in existing model files when I opened them that displayed correctly when I went home on Thursday. Open this file on my computer and it displays according to the attached screen shot. Open the exact same file on another team member's computer and they display at the same scale.
