I was wondering if it was possible in c3d to label points in the fashion often used for nautical charts in which each sounding (elevation) point is labeled with the integer component of the number followed by the decimal as a subscript. For instance 7.3 metres depth would look like: 73
Also I've seen charts with depths as fathoms and feet so 64 feet depth would be 104.
I'm having a problem saving a nautical chart from tif to jpg. I'm trying to make a small copy of a nautical chart to put it into MS Word for a report I'm making on a tide and ocean waves study for a petroleum company (my client).
When I choose - save as, sometimes I get the JPEG option available and sometimes I don't. I'm using Photoshop cs3 extended.
I know we all feel the difficulty in how ancient the graph / table tool in Illustrator is.
But, is there a way to display Data Labels on the front of my stacked bar chart?

I am trying to create a surface rise:run slope label for our company template file. I have it set using the default values that I want. But right now the text is just 1:1...where we want it to read 1V:1H.
how I can keep the label dynamic to the surface, but put the V & H in the label after the values.?
I think it is normal to want a style showing stationing, speed design stattions, etc.But.... Radii of curves ? Clothoid parameters ?
Why is the reason Autodesk developers think that designers dont want to see this information instead of "add labels, aligments, multiple segments,. etc ....

View 8 Replies View Related I have two surface ( OG surface and Gravel LIFT ), i need to have a table that Show me Depths range between those two surface with a color range, in a table and also to be able to see it in the the top surface.
Basically, In every Spot of the surface, need to represent a Depth range between the OG and the gravel surface by a specific Color.
For a surface: I would like to a boundary above a inlet point that is 3" deep.
I would like something like catchment area but the ability to specify a depth distance. Or specify a depth in the water shed analysis in the surface properties.
The only way I know to do what I want is user defined contours for each elevation. Is there a better way to do get a specific shed area for a depth?
I have a road that I am engineering and have set up my subassemblies using the daylight standard. But i would like to force a cut section until the fill gets to 2'. so that when i have 2" of fill it will still cut my ditches.

There are properites in the band label style composer for "pipe invert level" and for "cover" and for "pipe diameter" but not pipe invert depth.Is there a way to display the pipe invert depth relative to the reference (design) surface/alignment?
A secondary question to this is can you use basic arithmetic in the band label style composer? eg pipe cover + pipe diameter?

I know in Revit you can set the deep of view from the section line not sure if you can do anything like this in Civil3d.
Is there a way to find location/locations in profile view along profile with certain coverage/depth?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was recently trying to find the normal depth in a natural channel to use as an outfall water surface elevation in SSA. I double checked the normal depth calculations using the Express Add-On in Civil 3D. I found that while the normal depths correlated closely for channels with a single roughness coefficient, they varied considerably if a composite roughness coefficient was used for the left and right overbanks. This leads me to believe that composite roughnesses are being calculated incorrectly in SSA. I would like to use SSA for floodplain analysis, but am unwilling to do so until I have confidence in the calculations.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a custom subassembly using SAC 2012 that will place a 1' deep ditch at the bottom of the slope in a fill condition. The trouble I am having is how to hold a consant 1' depth on the backslope and vary the foreslope since the daylight offset and elevation is variable depending on the slope of the existing ground. I need the attachment point to be the edge of the shoulder so it seems like a loop that varies the foreslope length would be required but loops are not allowed. I will also have the option to target a profile but I also need the ability to hold a constant ditch depth.
How to model this condition.
I created a volume surface between the as-built and design surfaces, now I would like to show the points that display the cut/fill depths between these two surfaces. I tried modifying the surface property of that volume surface but doesn't seem to offer what I want.

The only way I have found to change the sump depth is one at a time through the structure properties.

Simple program that will adjust invert elevations of a pipe based on the cover depth.
I have a existing uitility maps that only label the the cover depths. I have to show these utility crossings in my profile views. I have different rules set up for various depths when laying out my crossing pipes in plan, but I need the ability to to edit the various cover depths more quickly. I am using Civil 3d 2012 only.

I am tryng to create a nautical letter Y symbol. It is a yellow square with red diagonal lines inside it.
I have started with a yellow square then created red lines above and then tried every permutation of the Shape tool, but I cannot crop the red lines to fit inside the boundaries of the yellow square. I have tried with the yellow square on top and under the red lines, but every one of the shape tools seems to either cut a shape out of the yellow square or cut the middle out of the red lines instead of cutting the red lines off around the inner edge of the yellow square. (I hope I am making myself understood). I don't want to have to shape each line individually to fit within the boundaries of the yellow square.
(I tried to upload the cdr file for someone to try but it was 393kb and this forum would not let me upload more than 256kb.)
I am trying to label my drawing (bearings and distances) and am having a bit of trouble. . First, the precision isn't right. I keep trying to set the precision but whenever I add a parcel label it comes up with the wrong precision. Also, I can't get the scale of the labels right. They are too big and I can't seem to size them down any smaller.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen generating a line of contour labels with Contour-Multiple, most of the labels are orientated properly but some of them on the line are rotated 180 degrees. Why aren't they ALL orientated in the same direction?
Also, sometimes, all of them will be orientated in the wrong direction such that they are, essentially, upside down. Is this a bug or is there a setting to adjust?
I am trying to create a label for slope ratios. I want to have the label show only whole numbers if it is a whole number and go to the 10th place only when necessary. Is there a way to use the label editor to do this? I would think it would work something like
IF(<General Segment Grade>=0|1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9 then <[General Segment Grade(FRun|P0|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]> else <[General Segment Grade(FRun|P1|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>)
but I'm not even sure I'm going in the right direction.
Is there a way to add a field within a label style? I made a custom alignment label and I would like to add a field that references a sheet (I'm using SSM) i.e. "See Sheet 1-2".
View 6 Replies View RelatedI opened a project that i had not been into for a month and for some reason the surface and labels will not rebuild automatically anymore. Surface is set to rebuild automatic and i've gone in and changed the regenauto from on to off to on again, also rebooted the computer with no luck. I have a combination of feature lines and points. If I edit the elevations along the feature line the contours do not rebuild and the label does not change either. If I hover over the elevation node in the feature line it will show the new elevation but the elevation label for that point does not reflect the change, neither do the contours. If it is a point and I change it with the panorama window, the elevation tag will change but the contours do not rebuild until I tell it to rebuild. Any slope labels going to that point do not update with it though.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need a style for intersection of alignments that automatically includes the abbreviations for Point On Tangent (POT), Point On Curve (POC), etc. I can create a style with the basic information of Station, Alignment Name, but adding the POT, POST, etc. in front of all alignment’s stationing and name doesn't seem available still in Civil 3D 2011.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI worked this out with C3D back in the day but for some reason I can't figure out how to renumber line tag label designations. What's making it tougher is that I need to create the tags in a block and try to create the line table OUTSIDE the block (this is so that I can have the block rotated to a deed bearing with dynamic labels in the block while retaining it's true orientation from state plane coordinates in model space). I have an old lisp file CLEARTAGS.lsp but this is not working. Perhaps this was made for 2010 or earlier. When I save the block, it jumps all the tag numbering way up for some reason.
