We installed Civil 3D onto my supervisor's computer, and I can't find the menus. It's like they completely vanished. I set menu bar to 1, and the only menu I get is the Express menu. I don't get any of the other menus (file, alignments, profiles, grading, etc.).

I installed Express tools when I installed 2010. when I type the "menubar" command the only thing that shows up is" Express". how do is get the rest of the drop down menus to show up?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter installing 3ds Max 2014 I decided to check out the new enhanced menu. It worked very will for a few days but for some reason now every icon in the menu is very low quality or just a star. I've tried doing a complete re install but it didn't seem to work.
I've attached a screenshot to illustrate what I'm talking about.
I have set may MENUBAR system variable value to 1, But whenever i exit from autocad 2013 this value changes automatically back to 0 and the pulldown menu disappears.
Also i have attached the screenshots of autocad after manually changing menubar varable with pulldown menu vissible and after exiting and starting autocad again to see the screen without pulldown menu and variable changed to 0 again.
I cannot get the menubar variable to stick. everytime I start autocad I have to re-enter the command to have the menubar back. I am sure this is something stupid I am over looking.

I have made the new menu and named the aliases POP501 & CMDEFAULT. But, when I right click the mouse, civil 3d still references the original default mode menu. How do I change this?

In 2013, I had created screen menu layout for Lite Users, where I placed the old Standard and Express Tools Menus along the top of the CAD window, just below the Ribbon. To do this I would Rt. Click in the Grey area (just below the Ribbon and above the CAD window), and then be able to choose menus from the AutoCAD, CIVIL, or EXPRESS menu groups.
In 2014, when I Rt.Clk. in the same area, I'm not given a way to select menus to add - as in 2013.
Is there another way to manually load the Standard AutoCAD and Express menus to the screen, in addition to the Ribbon, etc?
Lately, whenever Civil 3D crashes, my menus and ribbons would freeze, but my command line still works. It's like the entire user interface locks up. I'm able to workaround the problem by rebooting the computer and then recovering any drawings I had open at the time of the crash.

I finally cleared enough space on my creaky old PC to install 2013 and once again am having trouble with that CUI.
The ribbon is useless to me, partly because it contains nothing relevent (most of the commands I use are legacy) and partly because this creaky PC can't handle it. My usual workspace is set to toolbars (some custom) and menus.
I exported my workspace from 2012 including all the menus and toolbars.
I imported that cuix file into 2013. Everything is there listed as it should be, but when I select the workspace and click apply I have neither toolbars nor menus showing (well I have a tiny toolbar with just new, open and save on it, and another that appears to be related to survey, but none of the ones I want or need.)
What do I have to do to get my menus and toolbars back? they haven't abolished them completely? This PC cannot handle the ribbon and my every request for an upgrade is denied due to politics.
I would like to turn off the express tool visiblity in the menu bar. I have turned them off in the CUI. (in all workspaces, I have removed the aecmain.lsp witch i see loads into the toolbar, I have unloaded the partial cui and reloaded). If I set the workspace to one which it is turn off it goes away. Problem is that when I open again "its back". Is there another place that I don't know about that controls?
I "do" want to load the express tools. I don't want them to show in the menubar nor the ribbon. I want to allow command line or custom menu macro to call. I was able to do this in 2010.
In dialog boxes the drop down menus appear blank until I drag the mouse over it then the contents appear as I drag the mouse across. Also the cursor doesn't echo back (flash). I have tried updating drivers to no avail.
Running Civil 3D 2011 with all updates.

The default color for the menu/toolbars is a dark gray. The menus that unfurl are a tan.
I am putting together ROW markers using a process found on the Being Civil blog. The Marker setup shows on the Assemblies fine, I go through the corridor section editor and I can see the marker at the proper location for the ROW. The ROW marker will not show up on the section views, Not sure if I missed a step but everything seems to work up to the point of putting them on the section views.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a profile showing original ground and included superimposed profiles and an offset of the og line. Now when I open the drawing, the profile lines are gone. The grid is there, all of the profiles are listed under the alignment but they are not showing up. All of the styles are on and I've turned all layers on. I've tried to regain all and recover the drawing but the profile lines are not showing in the grid.

It doesn´t plot my alignment labels. Also happening on some other drawings like plan and profile. If i do plot them one by one from the drawing, they plot fine. The problem is that it's a lot of drawings to be ploting one layout at a time...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running 2012 and my group dialog box is nowhere to be found. (I opened 2011 and the dialog box pops up)
I just get a command prompt to select objects or [Name/Description]: -group gets me command line as usual. I enter a lot of legal descriptions and set them as various named groups for boundary analysis. Selecting the various groups via dialog is much easier. I have checked system variables but I cannot find anything I need to change. I have searched the discussion groups also but could not find any info.

On the modify tab, both edit geometry and edit elevations continue to uncheck themselves. I have save a workspace, made it default to no avail. Next startup i do the same thing, and so it goes throughout the day and every day.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using C3D 2013 on a 64 bit windows 7 machine. I have basejump loaded, and when I first installed it there would be a "Raster" tab in the ribbon that would allow me to resample, etc. That tab is now gone. How to get it back?
I used to click on a point to select it and a new tab would show up in the ribbon to list points, edit points, etc. That doesn't come up anymore either.
We just upgraded to 2013 and supposedly I should click the home tab -> pipe network -> pressure pipe network. But it isn't there. I can see that option in my toolspace and prospector, just nothing in my ribbons.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am an IT specialist running AutoCAD Civil 3D on about 100 computers for students at a community college.
The students recently alerted me that the Plan Production templates are missing from their accounts. I have previously watched these templates build, and they are supposed to be installed for each user the first time they run Civil 3D. (I have actually seen these files get added to the enu directory as the green bar progresses.)
At one time, these templates loaded, but now they are not. I am seeing two other folders in this directory, as wel as several other templates in the enu root directory, but not the Plan Production folder.
Civil 3D is part of a suite of CAD apps I installed on our systems that includes base AutoCAD 2013, AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD MAP, and AutoCAD REVIT.
Also, I have installed Civil 3D SP2 directly over the base installation without first installing SP1.
Finally, some users have told me that we should run base AutoCAD once and let that progrm make the first-time-use changes before running Civil 3D for the first time. I have tried running base AutoCAD first and Civil 3D first, and neither seems to make any difference.
i am doing a part builder totorial and when i right click autolayout data nothing happens. there is supposed to be a plus sign and you can assign the 'insertion point" of the structure.
