I'm trying to insert images from a Mr. Sid file using the geospatial tool based setup. It worked fine last week, but for some reason the images are NOT coming into correct coordinates nor are they coming in scaled correctly. I've tried resetting multiple settings but no luck so far...

I have 2 solutions already, but each has its own drawbacks: Global Mapper (PDF created is not as professional as CAD produced PDF) or Adobe X Pro (time consuming with multiple layouts).
How to insert the point table into paper space rather than model space and creating a mview?
Also, is there a way to add the point style symbol to the table?
We have a template file for all of our engineering drawings. When we receive the topo from our survey department we insert the topo (as a block) into our Eng. dwg. Our Survey dept just did their first topo using 2012 and survey figures. When we try to insert the dwg the system crashes. I can XML the surface into the drawing, but I don't get the line work.

I found the tif file I wanted (the tfw is in the same directory), I clicked open. It does not give me the option to select the tfw from the correlation source dropdown.

See picture for detail. as you can see only toolbox is left. and when i select toolbox from general menu. the whole toolspace will shut down.
Our customers insist that we provide our drawings in AutoCAD format and that the drawings have the views in paper space (layout) as well as the full scale view in model space. We are using an Inventor dwg to satisfy the requirement for AutoCAD format but I am not sure if we can get all of the views in model space and paper space without saving as an AutoCAD dwg and creating a viewport. I have used the "Insert in Model Space" command when you right click on a view, but this will only insert one view and then the command is no longer available. Is there a way to add all of the view to model space using this command?

I tried switching from my wireless iMac keyboard to my wired Apple keyboard; replaced preference files; booted from several other partitions (that share the same Photoshop app); checked the character palette for kerning and tracking; and tried different fonts.
It may be that I have to trash the preference files and completely reset them... but I sure hope not.I've tried two backup preference files .
For some reason when I place new text or line work in a file it is fine, but when I save the drawing, close it and re-open it all of the text and line work found in model space goes gray. Yet if I place new text and use the match property command on text placed previously, that is now gray, and use it on new text, the new text recieves the attributes of what the previously placed text has minus the appearance of being gray. In my drawing I am using a shape file and a data connect image through planning and analysis.

I have noticed twice now from two different civil firms that some of the civil symbols (dynamic blocks) are having visibility issues in paper space. No the viewport layers are not turned off or frozen. No the views weren't placed using the sheet set manager. Yes the blocks are created on layer zero and yes the associated layer is not off or frozen. I don't believe these blocks are annotative blocks. They appear, as expected, perfectly clear in model space. I just toggel over to paper space and "poof" they've disappeared.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new drafting job for a chemical plant. The issue that I am having is that they are using AutoCAD 2004. That version came out when I was a freshman in high school and I am lost. I am trying to insert the custom blocks that pertain to our design standards, but I am getting nowhere.
I have the blocks in a separate folder. I am getting to the customize tool palette option, but every time I try and import these files the folders show up empty. Admittedly, I am not the greatest with the complexities of AutoCAD because I picked it up on the job and never had any "official" training; however, it has also been two years since I've had to do this and I am a little rusty... I'd like to think it's just that because they are using decade old software.
I need to insert the same block from a tool palette multiple times into my drawing. Is there a way to do this without having to pick the block from the tool palette every time I want to insert it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed auto cad 2007lt on our new computer. I set up numerous tool palettes with blocks that we use often. I was pulling images from the palettes to my drawing with no problem.
Today when I tried inserting an image from the tool palette it is saying that the image can not be found. I've tried under previous drawings and new templates and have been unsuccessful.
Is there a way to have an attribute dialog box appear when inserting blocks from the tool palette?

If I insert a block without attributes it works fine. I even tried building a block in 2013 and then inserting it from the toolpallet, still fatal error's out.
Whenever I insert a block into my drawing from the Tool Palette, Autocad creates a Text Style and Dimension Style,both named Annotative. This happens on any drawing, with any block.
I can purge them after the block has been inserted. They are NOT nested in the blocks. I have tried recreated the tool. Nothing seems to be working.
I want to insert hyperlinks to a file I have.
I use the command 'hyperlink' I select the object and the program crashes and is 'not responding'
Now the tricky is that this happens both in Autocad Map 2010 and 2013. And happens also in files I already have hyperlinks and new ones. If I run the software as an administrator in my pc, the command works excellent.

One of the values for Y is 0. And the block instead of showing on X,0 it shows at some X,Y value. If you need to see the csv file I can upload it.
I have an exercise where I created a title block. phase 2 of the exercise asks me to insert the title block into another existing dwg. I went to the insert tab then went to attach the file I had created for the title block.

Can I insert a point on an alignment at a particular Station?
i am trying to attach a live map to the c3d2014.
first i set the projection and then it asks me insertion point.
1)why the map do not come in at the correct location and c3d needs me to specify the incertion point?
2)then it asks the rotation. i thought that all maps are pointing at north. but if i set it at 90 degrees pointing straight to the north a get a litle rotation that becomes very noticeable as i move far from the incertion point.
if the 90degrees is wrong, how can i find the correct rotation to give the c3d?
3) ok. that map is incerted. can i pan , move it ?rotate it ? how ?
tried to insert Excel tables into 2013 3D? It worked fine in 2012 but we just upgraded to 2013 and it no longer works. We get an error message that Excel is not supported. Is this a new feature or a bug? Also, our old drawings with the table already inserted does not plot normally. The table characters print at diffent sizes.
