My profile style settings are great but my Horizontal Geometry Text is overlapping. I want to be able to drag the text to keep it legible. Simlar to PI and PB labels on the horizontal alignment.
View 1 RepliesI'd like to label profile elevations at horizontal geometry points. I accomplished this with a profile reference. Essentially labeling bottom of curb at pc, pt, mid, and pi, and would like to get and expression to add the top of curb, but under hor. geo style expressions you cannot pickup pgl data and PGL style expression are not loaded in the hgp data.
Note: Its all Resistentialism, so keep calm and carry on 64 Bit Win7 OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using C3D 2012. I created a profile view for a straight horizontal alignment. The band label for the horizontal won't appear for this particular straight aligment. I have a few other alignments that has curves in it and the profile view displays the labels fine.
I tried to create a new straight alignment again, create a profile view but I get the same results.I also tried it on a new drawing using the NCS metric template with same results.
I can think of (if this is a bug) is to extend my alignment by say 0.1m and add a new IP at the correct alignment end, mask that on plan and end my profile view to the right length.
is there a way to set up the profile so it is anchored to horizontal geometry from certain point. that way when i change the alignment in the middle it won't cause profile to be shifted because station changes (length changed) while the vpi stations stay the same as before.
i can make a program in .net to specify a station and move all the vpi station by that amount which can be obtained easily by taking the length before you modify minus length after you modify.
Pretty common problem. it's not that hard to do in really the logic is defined. i have this alignment that's 60km long that's only one portion. hecka lots of horzontal curve and vertical curves. over 100.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of modifying our current company standards to conform to another set of standards. The main change is switching from "simplex" font style to "Tahoma".
Simple in theory but problematic in execution, our main alignment label style "GEO-LABL", used for P.O.T, PC, ect. utilizes an underlined reference text object in order to control the length of the line under the call. The base insertion places the call perpendicular to the alignment, when dragged to the left or right it switches to stacked text plan readable. Works like a champ with the "simplex" text style - 1.jpg see attached.
Now simply changing the font to "Tahoma" - 2.jpg the larger you make the text the larger the gap.I am trying to stay away from adding a line for the underline due to the difference in lengths needed when the call gets longer or shorter based on alignment name or stationing.
For composing a profile label, I can't find the option for Geometry Point Text, which would use our abbreviations under the drawing settings. It is available for alignments but not profiles. Currently have it text compenent being labeled with PVC and PVT, but I had typed that in.

How can I rearrange the horizontale order of the table columns which made by (Extraction data).
I know how to rearrange it vertically, But horizontally that what I want to know. Example ( colomns order is : number, X, Y. How to change it to :X, Y , number )
I have a file with imported geometry from autoCAD and some additional geometries drawn in 3ds (with "sweep"). I gave all geometries the same white material - but the ones drawn in 3ds generate a strange gradient/shadow. I tried to apply other materials and a UVW-map, nothing changed.
Attached a rendering. Where the arrow points to there should be the same white color. What can I do?
I made a simple block for a utility pole in plan view. It consisted of a donut with one string of mtext beside it. I had created it so that the text would orientate itself to be horizontal in each viewport regardless of the ucs angle. I later added a line for a guy wire and made the block dynamic with visibility states. Now I am unable to have the text orientate to a horizontal position in the viewports.

I tried embossing and making a hole, but they were greyed out for them too. I tried messing with the settings to see if I could fix it, but I still couldn't. I'm really confused right now, I remember doing something similar for a case I made for myself.?

I am wondering if there is a way to create a text style, library or whatever with the created "text". There can be hundreds of characters on a single drawing so importing and aligning and placing each object 1 at a time is very slow and painstaking.

I have tried to do a UCS from 3 of the points that will form the arc but everytime the best-fit arc is placed on the global grid horizontally.

The surface that I made is 15x15 km2; but I only need, for example, 6x15 km2: I want to erase the east of the surface.
I am setting up plans and profiles for utilities. Most of the profiles are working fine. I have one that the horizontal grids stick out about 50 feet left of the profile view. why one is squirrely and the other are good.
I'm using C3D 2012 on 64 bit system.
At a multileader when "automatically include landing" is set to "NO" or unchecked, then a small point (like that at the end of a dimension line) is inserted in the callout block, such as the circle, which then prints. This makes for less than clean drafting to say the least--is this normal? If so, (why?!), is there any way to NOT have those points print/show up?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat i want to do is ; i have a corridor with both right/left sides ending with linktosurface with fixed slope.In some sections my existing surface is not wide enough to get intersection with link to surface with fixed slope. So i want to use this "conditional horizontal target " if my surface is not enough wide for intersection then just intersect or go to the edge of my existing surface. But i learned that surfaces cannot be used as an offset target with that subassembly.

I've tried some of the settings for the mleader text placement. I'm trying to get the text to sit on top of a horizontal line. And an angled leader from the horizontal line to the object I am describing, ending in a dot.
All this is working fine, the lines, dot, etc. It's set for straight, not spline. And max. 2 leader points. All works as I want here.
What isn't working well is the text placement. I am able to have the text be horizontal, this works. But I can't get it to have the text above the horizontal line. I can set the leader connection to underline top line, or underline bottom line, or underline all text. These 3 choices seem sort of retarded. The first two put the text right on the line with no space. Doesn't look good. The third choice puts the text a bit above the line, looks perfect, except that there is now an additional line below the horizontal leader line, and that looks dumb.
Am I missing something? Has this feature matured more in later versions?
I have a door in plan view with visibility, flip, rotate, alignment and tag attributes. It all works well except when i rotate it, the text inside the tag rotates as well. I want the text to remain horizontal and read left to right while it rotates. I searched here for an answer but it's got me £@*%ed. It works when i flip it straight up and down.

If I render my image the shadows appear. but they do not show up as they do in what's new section of the photoshop page in [URL] Also If I turn on reflections, they show up just fine, but the shadows are still not there.

I have a strange thing that all of a sudden started happening. If I Rt-Clk on a surface on a profile and select Edit Profile geometry, the dialog box comes up, but almost every option in there is greyed out!
This is not drawing-specific, not is it machine specific.

I've been using the COGOEditor in civil 3D 2012. I enter a description for each entry. The description does not get saved. If i open the traverse file using a text editor, enter a description, save it, then reopen in COGOEditor, I still don't see any descriptions.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a grading, created surface with it and draw a profile view. Everything seems to be good, except with the vertical geometry band. I need to fix slope and length only at break point, means PI (blue line), but aligment has created more PI with each surface tringular line at intersection (us i note). Is there any why to specify PI only at a break points?
I can erase PI manually on static profile view mode, but i desire to do it in dynamic mode..., in case when conditions changes.
I am trying to add some text to the face of the part, no issues other than the projected edges are displayed as well, can the projected stuff be hidden?

I tried this in IV 2009 as well as in IV 2011, but the result is the same in both version, shown on first image. The text is sometimes difficult to read when it is crossed with geometry lines.
