Create a large number of polygons (plines, parcels, whatever) that represent spaces on a building plan
Assign a space number to the polygon
Link the space number to an Excel spreadsheet (or Access DB) so that the characteristics of the polygon (line and fill color, for example) are chosen based on the "owner" of the space (e.g.; Engineering, Common Areas, etc.).
Display a label stating the space number and the space name. Is this best done with "Parcels" in Civ3D, or with "Polygons" in Map, or some other way.
Is there a way to improve the error of closure of a Parcel. I have one Parcel that has an EOC of 0.0161'. That's a little higher than I like to see. I understand that some of this has to do with the precision of the analysis. But with bearings to the second and distances to the hundredth, I'd like to think we could do better than that.
I suppose that if I changed the POB the closure might improve. But I want the POB to be the closest corner to an existing monument.
was showing it off in class and it's always worked before but now it's not working on any of the computers. Just tried it on my laptop with the same results. I originally thought it was an issue with 2014 but 2013 isn't working either (and I know it was working in the past).
The only thing I can think of is my computer recently upgraded to IE10. Could that be it?
Any lisp routine that will remove "phantom parcels" in a drawing? They are the parcels many topics on this discussion forum have topics on, that can be selected but can't be deleted by any simple means.
The drawing is relatively new...with minimal objects in it. Just some Feature Lines and 3D Polylines. I have Sites in my drawing...but no parcels. Only thing in the sites are the feature lines. When I do a Q SELECT for the parcels it selects and highlights my feature lines, which is weird.
Any way to create a parcel from an object (closed polyline) and populate the parcel with Object Data from the polyline?
I have imported a .shp file into a drawing and the result is many closed polylines with properties similar to the attached image. I would like to bring this data into a parcel object for labeling purposes.
I have a feature line in my drawing. It is one of over 1000 breaklines in a surface. I want to delete it from the surface but keep it in the drawing. How do I do this?
In 2009 this was easy. I could erase the featue line then use the OOPS command to get it back in the drawing. Unlike the UNDO command, OOPS did not put it back in the surface definition. This was a wonderful feature/bug. In 2012 OOPS behaves the same as UNDO.
I found this post regarding finding a breakline in the surface definition but that is not realistic with 1000 breaklines.
Here are a few options I have tried:
Delete all breaklines from the surface and add the ones I want. (This is my best option so far.)Copy the featureline to the clipboard, erase it, then paste it back in. (Copying feature lines to the clipboard, or wblock, is very slow. The feature line should be moved back to the orignal site.)Explode the feature line into a 3D polyline and then convert back into a feature line. (Good option but does not work well for curves.)
I have 4 points/corners (with XYZ-coordinates) of a square shape created in the DWG of my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 program. I want to create 2 "triangle-shape" parcels (one parcel connects Points #1-#2-#3-#1 and the other parcel connects Points #1-#4-#3-#1. How can I create these 2 "triangle-shape" Parcels from the 4 points/corners of a squre shape?
Quite often I recieve drawings with loads of hatches/solid fills in. For example a housing layout with all of the houses, trees, roads, grass etc hatched.
I generally want to delete these/turn them off and work with a line drawing.
Sometimes the hatches have been drawn on their own layer, so turning them off is simple. But sometimes they've been drawn on layers with other things I want to keep. Genereally there are loads of hatches, so deleting them one by one is frustratingly slow.
I used to use Microstation, and in that there was a tool to delete hatches or fills, and if you selected all items you could delete the lot in one go. Is there such a tool in AutoCAD?
I have downloaded the SSURGO file from Web Soil Survey. They are in .shp files, I have imported the spatial files into AutoCad Map 3d 2012. My goal is to create a Topology so that I can detemine the soil type and acres of parcels of land.
When I click on the polygon in my drawing it is a closed polygon with double line or overlapping lines and it does has object data but it is part of the line not a point as I am used to.
I made a sketch attached to a drawing view, in it made a hatch. I closed the sketch and the file.
Opened again, after days, activated the sketch, selected the hatch, it turned red, pressed delete but it didn't disappear. Also on the right click there is no delete option.
When i select the hatch and it turns red, when i press delete or right click it turns green.
It is strange that when the sketch is closed and i select it in the browser i see the other lines of the sketch in red, but not the hatch.
how to draw a certain line and be able to delete part of it.
Example 1: I would like to draw a bunch of seried resistors, so I made a bunch of rectangles and draw a wire across them. But there are wire crossing through each one of them, how do I remove/erase that part in between each of the resistor? The line is made by using command: LINE
Example 2: Drawing some polygon and random shapes. Simplest example, drawing a half circle, so I draw a circle and want to remove the other half, how do I do it?
Yes, I know in example 1 I can do one object first then copy paste... But that is not what I am asking. I am seeking the command how to remove the lines or object in between.
i have gotten a drawing from another user and have managed to purge all of thier layers except for one. I have deleted everything out of the drawing, done "select all" numerous times and deleted, but this layer still won't let itself be deleted. I have made sure it is not the current layer, w blocked the whole drawing etc. There was an ole image in this drawing at some stage, could that have left this horrible layer "25L"???
How to select or delete the unwanted switches in my layout drawing ? I can select it ... may i know what layer is that and it doesn't appear in my model drawing...
Using ISO.idw template I created into a sheet a Sketch which contains a hatch. Now I want to delete that hatch and I don't find anywhere how to delete it.
The second problem is this: I want to create in multiple sheets the same drawing but with small differences. How to copy a drawing from a sheet to another sheet. I press right click on the first sheet and i press Copy but there's no Paste button.
In autocad 2011 ... I am looking for some sample code to delete all blocks with specific names in a multi layout drawing. There may be multiple blocks with the same name.
This is what I have so far ... this code collects the objects and loops through the layouts and the blocks ... if it finds the text "REVBLK" in the block name ... I want it to delete the block ... it does delete some of them but not all of the blocks ...
Dim E1 As Object Dim ATS As Variant Dim EA As AcadAttributeReference Dim objLayouts As AcadLayouts Dim LayerNextNo As Integer Set objLayouts = ThisDrawing.Layouts LayerNextNo = ThisDrawing.ActiveLayout.TabOrder
I'm relatively new to the software and have somehow managed to delete/remove the bar/ribbon with all of the functions related to the actual drawing of..well a drawing.
On the layout page I have several viewports. 2 of my viewport borders are not visible. I can not pick them, property them, delete them, or manipulate them in any way. When I activate them as "model space" view, I can work in the model space but the border still does not become visible. I only know where the border is by the truncated drawing. Is there any way to correct this problem?
Before I get the usual "turn on your layer" responses: ALL of my layers are thawed, ALL of my layers are on. I am running Civil 3D LDD Companion but have had this "glitch" on previous versions. I seem to remember the only answer is delete layout and start a new layout from scratch. Tell me this is not so!!
Recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013 and drawings opened up fine. Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.
I have text in a drawing that wont edit or delete. I have heard there was a text bug and to fix it set DTEXTED to 1. I have done that, closed out and came back in and the text is still there and will not delete or edit.
Is there a way to delete multiple VIP's in a profile? By windowing maybe? I have a profile with several hundred VIP's and I need to delete the VIP's between certain chainage but I'm not clear if this is possible. It will take hours to delete them one by one, although as far as I can ascertain this is the only way.
I am running AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010. I am a new user and just going through some tutorials and created a couple of survey databases for practice. The problem I am having is I can't figure out how to delete them. When I exit Civil 3D and restart it, those databases are still there under the survey tab in Toolspace even though I haven't even opened a drawing yet. Also, do I need MS Access installed on my workstation to run any functions within Civil 3D?
I graded a commercial site with mostly feature lines. I added points where I needed them to get everything to work. After modifying my surface, I suddenly have zero elevations randomly throughout my site. They don't make any sense why they appear. Some are just added to my drawing and others are existing points that were changed to zero. I can go to a back up drawing from a few hours ago and redo some grading, but I would like to know if there is a way to just erase zero elevations from the surface. I remember LDD was able to create surfaces ignoring elevations below a set elevation.
