AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Can't Read Contents On Screen
May 31, 2012One problem I face with the iPad on site is the glare. I cannot actually read the contents on the screen. Any tricks to make better legibility under open sky / sun?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Can't Edit Contents In Style Composer
May 22, 2012Every time I try to edit the Contents of a label on the Layout Tab of the Style Composer I get the errors below. I've tried a restart, a reboot, a repair and a reinstall with no change. This happens even in a new blank drawing.Each of these messages appears and has to be closed about 5 times.

I have a bottom of curb elevation point and would like to show the top of curb elevation as 0.5' feet greater than the flow line without inserting 2 separate points. For drafting purposes only. (ie. TC 10.50/FL 10.00 ; the TC value would be automatically derived from the FL or point elevation value.)Can math functions be performed within a label's Text Contents?

Feb 6, 2012The resolution of my monitor is set to the recommended resolution of 1920 x 1080. The default text size of 100% is too small. One of the preset options is to set the text at 125%. That works find in Revit Architecture 2012. BUT, I need the text to be a tad larger. If I set the text to 130% with a custom text size, something weird happens in Revit. The "status" bar at the bottom of the editing screen distorts the text. Some other weird things happen as well. Is text size in Revit hardwired?

When I rotate the label, the goes to plan read, but the bottom line text is on the top, top on the bottom.
I hope it would be simular to mirror.
I look at the expression, but didn't see any way to get the label angles.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Lisp Routine To Read From Directory Which Has Multiple Folders?
Jul 10, 2012Having trouble with my lisp routine to read from a directory which includes several folders. There is no problem when the files are all mixed in the directory but when dealing with hundreds of files, it makes sense to organize files by types.
Using (ade_aliasadd "BASE" "S:\") and there is no problems when the files are actually there and not in a subfolder called APN_DWG or EAS_DWG. Should I be setting up the environment differently and if so how?

Jun 3, 2013I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.

Jun 5, 2013I have a drawing that when I am in a layout and run QSAVE (or if autosave fires), the screen "flashes". More specifically the layout disappears for a second and during this time, the entire screen is black (the animated GIF below plays a bit fast)
This only happens in one particular drawing, and any drawing this one is xrefed into. Before I recreate this drawing from scratch?
EDIT: If I turn off REGENAUTO, the flash does not happen. Still, something is weird about this drawing.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Lines Not Printing Behind Screen
Jan 17, 2013I have a drawing with a screen and behind it is an xref drawing. When I print it to our KIP plotter the lines and other items behind the screen do not plot.
Here is how it is setup and what I have tried
The Xref itself is on its own layer and all the layers of the xref are set to a color that has thickness of .0138 and a 35% screen.
The hatch resides in the active drawing and is set to a color that is also .0138 thick but at a 20% screen.
The hatch is a DOT hatch at scale 1, but I have also tried it as a solid hatch
Lines merge is on and needs to be on.
I have made sure that the hatch is sent to the back and that there is no overlapping of data from other sources liek a second hatch or the same data in another xref etc.
I also tried setting the xref layers to another color that is .0256 thick with a 35% screen, but the results where the same. If i change the xref layers to a .0138 thick color with 100% screen, they do print over the hatch then.
AutoCad :: Export Layers And Contents To New DWG?

Sep 23, 2013Just installed 2014 Civil 3D. In 2013, I had created screen menu layout for Lite Users, where I placed the old Standard and Express Tools Menus along the top of the CAD window, just below the Ribbon. To do this I would Rt. Click in the Grey area (just below the Ribbon and above the CAD window), and then be able to choose menus from the AutoCAD, CIVIL, or EXPRESS menu groups.
In 2014, when I Rt.Clk. in the same area, I'm not given a way to select menus to add - as in 2013.
Is there another way to manually load the Standard AutoCAD and Express menus to the screen, in addition to the Ribbon, etc?

Mar 19, 2013I lost my search screen in the help area of ACAD Civil 3D 2011. The area where I would type in the search term is missing. The other tabs in the help screen work normally. See attachment for the screen I get.

Jul 13, 2012My command line is partially off the screen as shown in the attachments below. It started doing this after a reboot this morning. I can't drag it, select it, or find a way to move it in any way. I tried changing the resolution of my monitor thinking it might "bump" it back on the screen. I'm probably missing something easy but I can't seem to make any difference.

Now I want to paste the rectangle tag with the words over my many lines drawing. But I want whatever lines that gets into the rectange frame to get overlapped by black space in the rectangle.

Oct 12, 2011I am creating a table of data using mtext to store data such as project name, client name, address, phone, scale, date etc. etc. and I plan to use that as the "master data" so I dont have to change a dozen text blocks whenever I update the file.
So I use FIELDS to enter the data into my title block. Problem is it works fine in Modelspace, but it doesn't carry over to Layout.

Is there a setting for having all drawings open up maximized? The first drawing I open always comes up maximized.
