i am trying to make lable on grid?
i make surface i want grid lavel point.
I have been working with ADT 2012 for a month now, and I am missing the way that my crosshairs used to snap to a grid, even if a command is NOT active. If I am zoomed in close, I used to be able to have my pickbox/crosshairs snap to the 1" grid that I have set up. However, that I only works if I have a command like "LINE". What setting do I need to change to make this work the way it has for YEARS?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD 2008 and trying to make a smart ceiling grid using the tools palette. The tool runs fine, however my grid doesn't show up in my drawing. I checked all my layers and they're fine. I think my ceiling grid visibility display is turned off.
Any command to turn it on? Checked the product, it gives me options to turn it on/off when it's already visible in a view, but this doesn't work since I can't see it at all.
Every time I hover near a column grid it auto selects and is crippling my workflow. I basically have to turn it off to work. Is there a way to desensitizes a grid object?
Typically If I want to change or select a grid I would just pick it. In ACA 2012 I can’t get near it or it selects itself.
I am having a problem with my grid lines F7 coming back on, there is no consistency or reason that I can see that might be turning them back on, I can be zooming in and out, stretching something, dimensioning something?

I switched to the work tab, that has a 3-d view and there is the grid. I cannot find what I did alter its visibility in model space.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed autocad architecture 2012. when i opened it to start creating a new drawing/project the unit of measurement was in Millimeters.. i needed the Unit of measurement to be in architectural units, so i used the units command to change it to architectural units. the problem i am having now is that i think the Grid Scale is still in MM. when i tried to draw a line on the grid the line appeared to be tiny. the length of the line was 36'-5". i adjusted the scale to 1/4"=1' but that didnt change anything. in order to see the line that i drew i have to zoom in so much..
How do i adjust the grid scale to be the same as the units?
I cannot seem to make the clng-grid appear on the "sheet." It is visible in the construct, and the view, but nothing I do makes it appear in the sheet once the view is placed.
I did modify Display Manager to show the grid on "medium detail" along with the other floor plan items in all 3 DWG's. Works fine in construct and view, no joy in sheet.
It won't even appear when I flip the vport to "reflected" or "reflected screened."
Is there an easy way to use space to generate a ceiling grid. My predicament is that when I create a space, the lines show up in Medium Detail and I have to switch to Reflected display configuration to see the grid. But when I am putting in the grid it asks me to choose the space, which is now not visible. Unless I change the display configuratiion, is there a way to pick the space while in the reflected display configuration.
Or better yet, is there a way to create a script that will toggle the space display on and off while in reflected.
I don't know why this isn't working for me today. I want to edit the Bay Size of my Ceiling Grid in one room. When I select the Grid..right click Properties and select the Bay Size, I can't seem to change the size.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded the trial version of Autocad Architecture 2013. I changed my main customization file to aca.cuix so that I would have the build panel. The build panel is now there, but it is not working. All the icons are questions marks and when I click on the ceiling grid icon it says 'unknown command'. How can I get the ceiling grid function to start working?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a number of older pictures in my library that don't have Capture Date in the metadata. Windows Explorer Propoerties typically shows info like this, for these files:
Created: Tues, Mar 11, 2009 <time>
Modified: Wed, June 12, 2002 <time>
Accessed: Thu, Sept, 13, 2006 < time>
In my experience, PSE assumes the "Modified" date as capture date with files like this. (A good assumption, for these pics Im looking at now.)
From what I can tell, LR also uses the "modified" date when sorting these pictures' thumbnails. And when I do Metadata > Edit Capture Date, it shows the Modified date as the Original (all good so far).
BUT, in Grid View of the Library module, I have View Options set to show capture date in the Bottom Labal, and here it shows the "Created" date. (So it like 2009 pictures are getting placed next to 2002 pics, in what's supposed to be a chronoligical sort.)
m in the middle of a little project and want to know if its possible to save the info that the _MEASUREGEOM command displays when applied to measure distance or angle to the project.
I used to use a lisp script to do this but that was on my PC. Im not running autocad on my mac and it wont alow me to run the script. it loads it but then gives the error
error: vl-load-com not supported on "Mac OS X Version 10.8 (x86_64)"
when i try and apply the command. Does MEASUREGEOM have a built in feature to save these details to the project i.e. next to the line or shape measured?
I went to content browser and loaded the "Plan Elevation Label" onto my tool palette when I go to place the label in the drawing it prompts for elevation and nothing else.
How can you change the rotation on the screen accept to use the rotation command?
The tag itself is referencing a block I went to the block and changed the block now if I go to insert the multi view block it prompts for rotation but not to edit the attribute is there any way to get it to do both?
I have a user and when he's in sketch mode he trys to draw a line but it keeps on snapping to a grid. Both snap and grid setting are switched off. I can't find any settings he has different from my own set-up so I'm finding it hard to fox this problem. FYI, this user is a bit of a problem and tends to change settings without even realising he's doing it.
He's using Inventor 2012.
When i pick points from the drawing using the ID command i recieve a long and meaningless coordinate which is useless to me when setting out. How i can rotate my drawing so that firstly its aligned with my grid and secondly give it the same coordinates as my site based local coordinated grid?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUnderstanding that composite volumes are typically more accurate, I have a reason to evaluate the volume between two surfaces via a grid volume. Easily created a grid volume surface using a 50' grid (50' is large for this site, but wanted to get a feel for calculation time).
Question: Can you change the grid size without creating a new grid surface? Ultimately I woud like to explore the difference in volumes based on grid sizing without creating a long list of surfaces. One would expect that you could chage the grid spacing in surface properties, but the values are non-editable.
I was working on some isometric drawings for my CAD class and I can't seem to figure out how to get the grid back to the standard 2D grid view that I used to get when opening CAD. I now jusr get this dotted grid every time:

C3D 2013. We have profile line labels, some of which get manually edited (for example, change the "<[Tangent grade(FP|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>" to a static number such as 0.29%).
However, if you CTRL+Click and select one of these labels and change the style of that one label, then the manual edits are lost and the label reverts back to the default string.
Is there any way to turn this behavior off?

Is it possible to pin a label to another label ? Or pin a label to an object so that when the first label (or object) is moved, the other moves with it ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRevit has a propensity to locate a lay-in ceiling grid with a grid intersection in the center of the room. You can use the alignment tool to align the grid with a wall. But I see no way to center a tile in a room. This is often a necessity in a narrow room, to keep the lights centered. Also, installers, when not given specific instructions to the contrary, will often locate the ceiling grid to minimize narrow tiles at the wall. We need more control over the position of the grid.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground)
I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.
I'm looking for an option to adjust the grid size and to snap-to-grid.
For some purposes, you can find a way around this, but it is a pain when working on a project that requires perfect precision.
The topic has been brought up before, but I'm hoping to hear of any news on the possibility of implementing it. I don't assume there has been made any plugins to cater this need since earlier posts on the matter, so I'm hoping to persuade developers to implement the feature in a new version of paint.net instead.
If you need to know more specifically what I'm looking for, then it's basically what you have in Adobe Illustrator or any decent 3D modelling software you will ever come across. It would work pretty much exactly like the grid already in place, except you would not be limited to working only with individual pixels, but rather groups of pixels as you zoom further out. The grid would preferably have thicker lines every 5, 10 or 15 lines, etc. for user to position the various elements.
I'm using Paint.NET 3.5.8 on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
While editing small (16 x 16) images, I noticed that Paint.NET used a grid with a width of 2 pixels. Selection rectangles snap to this grid, as do paste operations.
How can I specify the grid width or disable this snap to grid effect altogether?
