I have encountered a problem when creating a PDF. On the sheet there are 14 viewports, and when I plot the sheet to a PDF, one of the viewports plots completely blacked out. I have redone the viewport and Xref, but it still turns out black.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was comparing a few drafting and was curious if CorelDraw X6 had the ability to create contour plots using 3-dimensional spatial data (e.g., topographic surveys). Basically, what I was looking to do was import a table (say from excel) with a number of data points which each have three coordinate locations (X, Y, Z). I would be looking for the program to take these data points and be able to draw lines or shading between them in essentially what would be a topographic map (contour map). In the past, I have used another program called Surfer to create the contour maps, and have then had to import the exported image to an older version of CorelDraw.

When I try to add or copy more than 3 viewports previous viewports created will go blank and cannot be activated anymore. I have never had this issue before, is there a setting that can fix this problem? I am running AutoCAD Architecture 2010
View 2 Replies View RelatedI dont work with polygonal VPs or clipped VPs often but sometimes I have to. I recently dicovered in working with 2013 AutoCad that when I create a polygonal VP or clip a VP and place it on defpoints or even a no plot layer, the VP outline still prints???? I'm miffed
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD Architecture 2011. I have been working in a drawing for several weeks on casework. I have multiple viewports on my sheet layouts. Up until now I was able to select the viewports and move them or make them bigger or smaller with grip edit but now although I see them I can't select them or even delete them. I can double click within the viewport and change the scale or modify the items in the viewport but I can't do anything to the viewport in paper space.
I have turned all the layers on and made sure that none of them were locked. I have tried regen. I have opened a new tab and tried to create new viewports and I have the same problem. I can create them but once I do I can't modify / move them.
Beyond that when I switch from model to paper space it takes about 5 min. sometimes longer to switch and the same thing when I save it or close it. Is that normal?
I am hoping to create a function that creates a named viewport around a 2d PLine with a specific layer name. The function would be creating a different viewport name for each separate item with the specified layer name in the drawing. there will be multiple items. The viewport will need to center the item to screen before creating the named viewport.

I can copy the viewport and activate it, but the layers setup for that viewport goes to default. So it turns everything on.
I can't make a layer state in the old file and import in new file, because the new file does not have all the same layers. So not all my layers would be turned off in the viewport.
I am using ACA generic walls and doors for quick schematic room layouts.
I use the sheet set manager to make sheet with views.
All 2D linework is visible in the views, but the walls and doors (AEC objects) do not appear!
I am trying to organize my drawing in model into different viewports for printing purposes. However, in Layout # 1, once I delete an item it also deletes the item in model space. In Layout # 2, can't edit, select, highlight or anything ( I am in Layer 0). How can I fix that ? Basically, I want to create several layouts, each layout will contain a certain section of my drawing in model space then. I am not "layout savvy", trying to get hang of it.

In paperspace i have a couple of viewports , all nicely set out at 1:5 scale. then i click in another viewport and bam, all the other viewports change scale (zoom out) and orientation. is there some system variable that i have overlooked?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using autocad architecture 2012; the problem i am having is that when i pdf any sheet that contains a block, the plot prints the block/symbol completely filled with color (black).
when i pdf, the client (commercial) demands that we use the "DWG to PDF" setting, however this causes text throughout the sheets to convert into unreadable dashed lines, therefore our office has started to use "Adobe PDF" for all our pdfing needs. but now the blocks (mainly the title block tags, and keynote symbols) do not plot properly. I always preview the sheet before pdfing and it always looks normal... it seems like the problem occurs somewhere between the file and adobe acrobat x... is it possible for the verison of adobe to be the culprit?
I have a lot of sheet DWGs with a single layout in each. The layouts have several viewports into model space.
Is there a way to export out the layout tab where the viewport contents have been converted and placed into the layout space?
Ideally, I'm hoping to basically convert the viewport heavy paperspace into a dumb model space layout.
Some images in threads are now showing up with the lower portion of the picture blacked out. Its like there is a limit on how large the image can be. Many times what the posting memeber is trying to show is blacked out.

One is at a 5:12 slope, the adjacent roof slab (which is longer) needs to meet at the apex of where the 5:12 slab hits the wall and therefore will be a pitch much less than 5:12. I could figure it out mathematically, but I was curious if there's a way to do this with grips? When I try to move the grip of the 2nd slab, I can relocate it in the X/Y plane, but not the Z because it won't allow me to change the slope as I drag it on the fly.

It works for some viewports, but not for others. A "List" of the objects show the viewports are the same. I have a LiSP routine that gets me more info about selected objects. I am having trouble creating custom schedule tags. I have followed the tutorial "to create a schedule tag", but it does not work for me. First off it is not annotative, I created it in 1 to 1 scale and checked the plotting scale to ensure it is 1 to 1.
Also, it creates the block, and I get it into the tool pallet, but when selected, it just inserts a block. I am trying to create a door tag, so when I select it from the tool pallet, it does not ask me to select a door to tag, just inserts the block.
The tag I want to create is very simple, I want to modify the OTTB Door Tag - Project Based, to remove the suffix and center the door number.
I have a picture that was sent to me when the picture is actually opened the original person blacked out parts of it and they do not show but whenever it is sitting in my folder the whole picture shows up as a thumbnail. Is there anyway to remove the black layers or anything to get the whole picture to show since it is all showing as a thumbnail?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a series of 3d walls in autocad Architecture 2012 and an existing CAD 2d structural column layout.
I need to remove/cut or trim the wall around the HSS columns on a floor plan. The walls show the consttruction of the wall and I can't seem to create a void or mass to cut out around the column. Is there an easy way of doing this so that I can just place this in a block to auto cut the wall. My hope was to create a column block so that I can just drop the HSS columns wherever i want them.
I know i can use a wipeout to clear the area however, that is not ideal as we have other linework that need to be visible.
I have noticed when I go to open a file there is also a recover file. Almost every file I have worked on in the last two weeks has a recover file. This causes problems if I can’t see the entire file name and accidentally start working with the recover file.
does AutoCAD 2012 automatically create recover files? I don't have unexpected shutdowns, I have never been asked to recover or create a recover file.
I have not had any luck finding support on Auto Cad Architectures Keynoting w/ data base.
The issues I can't seem to resolve are: formatting the reference legend and saviing the format so I can re-use it in all my drawings creating a custom reference keynote?
I just installed PS6 and it looks awesome! Everything works fine, no issues processing photos so far. Only problem is that my drop down menus for the menu bar are blacked out with grey text. Some options don't even have the text. When I hover with my mouse, it does show the item with a blue hover background, but aside from that, nothing.

I designed an upholstered furniture with curved surfaces. When I generate sections or elevation I'll see the invisible edges on curved surfaces! Is there a way to get the same result as the object viewer hidden line (or shaded with edges)?
2nd question. is there a way to control how many steps the surfaces are tessellated? The outline is not very smooth!

I am creating a schedule to pick up the room areas and additional information to do with artificial lighting. That bit is the easy bit.
What I am trying to do is put a column in the schedule that shows how many light points are within that particular space. I have looked into ticking the quantity box, but that picks up just the spaces. If there was a way that this could be used to pick up the blocks in a particular space, and not the spaces that would be the simplest way to solve this (I think anyway).
Just to let you know, I am using Dynamic Blocks for the light fittings. As I can have all the different types within the one block. I have heard that I can do this using the MultiView blocks (I haven't explored this yet), but the amount of blocks that I need is going to be increased (from what I know about MultiView blocks). The simpler this is, the better I believe.
I have tried using Count under the Automaitc Property, but when used, adds the blocks as an extra row, not into the desired column. I may have to add something to the block to get it to do what I want it to do, but don't know how to do this. At the moment, I am putting this information manually into the space properties.
The next part to my question, and again, I maybe asking a bit too much here, but I want to take two totals from two different columns to create an average. If I could do this in the one table, fantastic! If I have to create a second schedule to pick this up, that is ok I suppose, but I would then do the math for it manually and just write it in if that was the case.

I use Autcad Architecure 2010 on my computer.
After I created or made a multiline text, the ribbon in autocad is getting all blurry. None of the icons in the ribbon will work (see attached picture).
I always have to shut down Autocad and restart it to continue my work.
The item is in full color on Illustrator as im designing it...
as soon as I Drag it over to photoshop it renders it in a diffrent mode...and blacks the image out leaving 1 color.
I am in the same mode in both documents.
