How to make the top corners of a wall with a radius. I have attached a file to show in 2d the wall.
Specifically I wish to draw a wall with lets say a 16" radius corner at the top.
I would like to make a square with round corners with certain Radius. I use Rectangular Marque Tool with Feathering set to some value. The thing is that when I cut the shape from Layer I don't get a sharp corner but instead I have shaded corner.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to create a wall style that has 2 components, a framed wall and a brick veneer. What I would like to do is have this wall react a certain way when I insert a window. Basically, I don't want the window to cut into the brick veneer, only the framing.
I have attached my attempt so far, and I have not figured out how to get the window to only cut the framed portion.
I am having trouble cleaning up different wall types joining at or close to a corner. I tried to over ride the clean up radius....no luck.

I have made a shape with the Rounded Rectangular Tool (U) with a radius of 7 px. How can I change the current button to have a radius of 10 px?
I can manage to get the Transform Controls to show, but cannot get it to change the radius.
I can convert a wall to a curtain wall but not a curtain wall to a wall. When converting a wall to a curtain wall I select wall in the design pallette right click apply to wall select the wall and it changes to a curtain wall. When I try converting a curtain wall to a wall I right click on curtain wall select apply properties to wall then go to select the curtain wall but I cannot select the curtain wall as a wall?
I simply want to convert an existing curtain wall to another wall type how is that done/
I know how to make rounded corners. But the background has color and shows the square corners of the palette.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to design a layout using slices and such for a website. i'm using the vector objects and layer styles inside Photoshop CS4.
Problem is that during resize, all rounded corners get distorted and do not maintain shape or radius, is there a way to prevent rounded corners from distorting during transform?
otherwise this seems way too tedious to be an effective method of creating a layout that may need adjustments later, since things will need to be recreated.
I'm used to working with parametric CAD (inventor/solidworks), so i'm like a fish out of water without geometric constraints or ability to re-spec existing objects without remaking them...takes me back to the days of autocad.
What I do not like is that I draw a rectangle and then add the radius corners and it is fine.
If I then drag the box taller or wider the radius of the corner changes too. But also I have noticed that it does this even if you drag the box to size first then add the radius corners.
example: I make up a rectangle and add start adding text. Then I have to make the box bigger so I do that, finish adding my text. Now go to add in the radius corner and they are all skewed out of shape. This seems to be because I have dragged that rectangle bigger that what it was when I first dragged it into place.
Is there a way around this so that I can make my rectangle say 250 wide by 50 tall. Then later on change it's size and add radius corners and make it so the corners are all even and not all out of proportions?
I want to run one wall just a few inches past another. If I override the Cleanup Radius at the appropriate ends of the walls, setting the radii to a small number (1/2"), shouldn't that allow one wall to be run a couple inches past the other? The attached image shows the end of Wall 2 pulled as close to Wall 1 as I can get it. Both walls have the Cleanup Radius override at 1/2". If I nudge the end of Wall 2 down any further, it jumps down to form a corner with Wall 1.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with moving a line that is attached at a corner to another, as it moves that line as if I clicked on the intersecting snap point at the end of both lines and dragged it. I want to move or copy the line away, but it somehow is attached to the other, and is quite annoying and impossible to work with without deleting and redrawing lines. I've tried exploding them, but they are not joined in that way, and are not "grouped" (I don't think, because when I did "group" them, it made a box around them and highlighted both lines at the same time). A symbol shows that is two boxes, one an outline and the other solid which is up and to the right. I can't figure out what mode it is in to turn it off!
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe standard in the industry I work in is the radius dimension goes on the inside of the arc. However, AutoCAD defaults the dimension to the outside of the arc. Is there a way to make it default to the inside? If not then this is the issue when I use the mirror command.

For example, using a wallstyle as a countertop, I'd be able to drag it to the corner of a room and use object snap to the intersection. In ACA 2012, the object snap defaults to the justification plane of the wall even if that's not where the intersection snap is desired.

I am trying to move a door so that the door is flush with a face of wall. The prompts in acad do not match the instructions.
For instance; select door, okay. then from anchor panel select 'reposition within wall', okay a red line appears and prompt to 'select position on the opening'. okay so i click the face or side of door jamb then select a reference point. (guide says select point to measure to) and on and on. Door never moves.
it should be; select door, select reposition in wall, select reference point (interior, exterior, midpoint), select the desired location. Done.
Instead it is select this that and the other , measure from here, select, click.click click.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two created wall styles, one is a stud wall with gyp bd each side, the other is a cmu wall with gyp bd each side. I want to use a solid hatch which I am able to do but the problem is one wall style the stud hatch is HATCH 1 and in the other wall style the CMU hatch is HATCH 2. It seems as though the two wall styles are tied together some how for if I turn on / off a hatch in one of the wall styles it turns on / off the hatch in the other wall style.
