Apr 29, 2013I do not understand how to draw a polar array around a rectangular shape. If it were a rectagular dining table of any size how do I array the dining chairs around the table's shape. Alternatively what if I had a large square table and wanted to array 12 chairs with 3 chairs on on each side of the table ????? I get polar arrays around a circle or polygon but do not understand the rectangle concept ???

Mar 18, 2011I installed architecture 2011 last night. When I installed it, it did not remove my 2008 verison. So all my files are still opening the 2008 verison. I do not have much space on my hard drive, so if I uninstall 2008, will there be a problem with 2011?
Is there any reason to keep the 2008 version?
Second problem: in 2011, I click on the open button and it does not open a dialog box. It only gives me a line in the command line. same thing happens when I try to save as.

Sep 19, 2012I'm trying to use the PATH array feature on 2013 to array stairs, and I can't get the array to be 100% accurate. It seems like CAD rounds the decimal to the nearest 3/4" which could be causing the problem.
I set my run to 10.5" and rise to 7.25", array along the angle of the stringer, and there's always a small overlap on the stairs. The "distance between" should be 1'-209/256" and CAD rounds it to 1'-3/4" which is where I believe the error is. Is there any way to fix this or array this correctly? Otherwise...back to the COPY method I suppose.

Nov 4, 2011When I want to edit the annotation scale of an object, the dialog box seems to open, but I cannot see it. I copied my profile from my computer with two monitors, so I suspect that is the problem. I tried Alt + down arrow, then right and left arrows to see if I could find it, but that did not work. CMDDIA is 1.

Mar 23, 2012I have 2 computers with Windows 7 OS and 2011 ACA installed with a custom profile set current. When I select annotative text, right click and select ADD/DELETE SCALE, the Annotation Scale dialog
box SHOULD open.... but it does not. I have this same profile set on other computers with Windows 7 and they are working fine. We have completely uninstalled ACA, wiped the registry clean, and reinstalled...
it's still doing the same thing. I can switch to the Out of the Box profile and the dialog box opens as it should. I'm not sure where to look within the profile for the issue since it's working on other computers.

In AutoCad (I am working with ACA 2012) there are several dialog boxes e.g. the "rename" dialog box that always show up in the same (too small) size.
After renaming e.g. a block, the window closes and I have to repeat the command to rename another item.
I would like to size the window and keep the setting and would like to keep renaming things without getting interupted by automatical closeups of the window.
Photoshop :: Moire Effect Elimination
Jan 30, 2008I scanned (HP 7400c) an old photo that was printed on a "silk" textured paper and when I try to enlarge it in Photoshop, I get what I believe is called a moire effect. It is a pattern all over the image caused by the textured paper. Is there any way I can eliminate this in Photoshop, or must I photograph the image and work from that?

When I use the File Open dialog box, for example, I always want it to be bigger so I drag the corner to enlarge it, but the next time I call it it's back to the same default size. Can I drag it to a new size and make that stick, a variable set differently perhaps, or is something more sophisticated involved?

I've seen this with another user at a different office as well. I assume its a video driver issue but as I'm strictly a CAD manager and not IT support, messing around with that is outside my responsibilities.
A restart usually fixes the issue but I figured I try to at least find out of its a known issue with a known cause (and a known fix).

Sep 29, 2011I'm curious if there is a way to array objects which are a set distance off of a polyline, along the polyline at a set distance on center. For instance having a circle a 1/2" off of of the polyline, and arraying that circle at 12" on center along the polyline.

Oct 23, 2012I'm using AutoCAD 2012 and when I try and start the 'ARRAY' command I do not get the popup dialogue box like in earlier versions. I remember recently having the same issue with the HATCH command, but this was solved by altering the 'HPDLGMODE' setting. I've looked for a similar setting for ARRAY but so far come up with nothing.
Any settings that will revive this dialogue box?

Sep 29, 2013I am trying to array a 3d block along a 3d polyline made up of straight plines. I align the block to the end of the endpoint on the 3d polyline ie the path. use array path command.The block does not align properly around the path. Aug 27, 2013Rhino allows for two-rail curves and extrusions, is there anything similar in Autocad2013? I'm working on a trellis that has an undulating, slatted top - I can array the slats along one spline/polycurve, but figuring out how to rotate them to match the secondary angle/curve (it twists) is proving to be really difficult. Rotate3D I have trouble with (crossing different faces/USC which confuses me), and doing so for each slat is going to be exceptionally time consuming.
Is there a way to array a form along two paths, so that the pieces automatically adjust to match the needed angles that both rails define?

When I select all & UNION the whole geometry becomes orange & I would like it to become blue.Selecting the base first then the array doesn't seem to work.
